Good chilly morning,
It is 42β° outside and we are only getting up to 62β°.
Yesterday I tried to get on here several times i finally got on here at the end of the day.
I finished washing clothes and now everything is done.
Today we have the chiropractor so will go there then it's a stop at the store for a few things .
After that I might go upstairs to clean up a bit of a mess that I have up there and do some cleaning before my machine comes back .
I was on Facebook this morning and I came across this Lady Tami Jones she was making a Jacket out of a quilt the pattern is called Elemental coat something to think about when thrifting and find a quilt you like you can make a jacket.
Also on my cutie frame group someone mentioned she purchased a borescope camera to hook to her phone to look at her stitches on the back of her quilt while quilting good idea.
Lynn so glad you got checked out I hope your better soon.
I hope Everyone has a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Re: Friday October 10, 2025
Good morning I stayed up late last night to watch the first season hockey game...it didnt go well but I did sleep till 730 this morning so did Ken. Now I am up dressed and the bed is made. Seeems half the morning is gone...Today is busy again Ken needs to turn in his work truck from the company he was consulting for, they were sad to see him go but wished him luck, ( they didnt have a lot of work for him anyway) They are an hour away and I will need to drive out there to get Ken home. ( I have no idea where or how to get there) GPS is my friend, He also resigned form the ice rink and all his "geezer" friends,,,all are retired guys and all are thinking of calling it in too. The kids will miss my cookies,..He seems to be excited about this new job...not so much being away from home but he loves the challenges of these type of jobs...mostly fixing what other guys do not seem to know how to fix...
I did cut 2 of the three borders and the third one is cut on the lenght of fabric Not in my wheel house for sure,,trying to get even 90 inch pieces , 4 of them. but my math says it is needed 20 more inches of border...since the finished quilt is 100 inches by 88, I will read it again before i cut,,,for those of you doing this pattern I suggest doing the same...it has been a real head banger for me...I may go to width of fabric and piece the borders seeing if that will be a better way to get the fabric to work. It still was a very generous kit and I have a lot of fabric left over might make a throw pillow to match the quilt or even 2, we shall see.
Well I need to get moving. Ken is ready to go.
Lynn hope you are better today but I have a feeling you will feel all the places you didnt know you hit...With my brittle bones I fear falling. Sorry this happened to you,
Hope you all have great day. Prayers for all needed. Colleens father in law came through the surgery and was put in ICU last night, The drs didnt sound crazy optomistic but said they did what they could to alleviate symptoms....praying for the best outcome.

Good morning!
Extra dark here and I hear rain falling. The first Southern storm has arrived and tomorrow the northern storm will crash into it,making for some worrisome rainfall totals and flooding. We are fine, up on a slope. The southern storm is leftover moisture from a hurricane. Late in the season, but we'll take it.
Sewing day for me. Puttering around in the Batt Cave. Mr G has a cardiologist appointment after lunch and Sarah takes him, so she hears what the Dr has to say. Daniel may be over, loading up a run to Acme Landfill. He and Aaron are trying to get the yard buttoned up for winter. Wish my trash company had a sliding scale for their pickup. We put out the big cans, they have one size, about once every three weeks. This is the week.
Ethan is doing better. Still a bad cough. But hopefully this round of steroids calms it down. It's finally, definitely set, the braces come off on the 23rd! Ethan is staying with me then, school is out on Fall break, ie, hunting season starts, a huge deal here. If you don't hunt, then it's the pilgrimage to Disneyland! Sarah and Joseph are taking Matt's side by side, south to Brian's Head to celebrate their anniversary. They celebrate early, because when their actual anniversary happens, it's very expensive, as it's New Year's holiday. So they save money by doing it early. Brian's Head is near Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks, both gorgeous areas. Lots of trails to ride.
Time to get going,,
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Re: Friday October 10, 2025
Good morning,
LOIS - Our temps today will range from 49* to 60* with a few showers. So not too far from you. But when we're in the 40's, it's so close to the 30's. And snow happens in the 30's. Hard to believe we were having 80's just 4 weeks ago. Glad your cleaning is done. Good opportunity to clean sewing room while your machine is gone. I've seen those quilted jacket patterns and in fact have one - one that I'll probably never use.
LYN - That was quite a tumble you took! I'm glad you got checked out but do pay heed - if it feels worse or you don't start improving soon please go back and get rechecked.
LORI - That is quite a puzzle! It should keep you out of trouble for quite a while!

I hope you are right about our Mariners. But the Tigers are pretty good, too. I'm trying not to count my chickens - or my home runs. I enjoyed the Tee Shirt I made. It was fun to take the main parts, make blocks from them, and then the smaller logos from sleeves and pockets and try to fit them in here and there and make an interesting block arrangement with them all. Kind of a challenge and I do like challenges.
VAL - That's a pretty low H&H. I hope they do transfuse Tony. Do you know if he always runs low? Saying a prayer for him today as he goes into surgery. I like Zion Alexander. It flows nicely. Not to mention, I like Alexander. Our grandson, Alec, is really Alexander Michael.
CHRISS - How was the cousin party? How many were there? Were they from just one side of your family? How many cousins do you have in all? I love those crock pot liners. They work really well. I use my crockpots a lot and I always use those liners in the trailer because clean-up is so much easier in my tiny RV kitchen. At home, I don't use them so much because the crocks are easy clean. And you reminded me I like to use V8 juice in my stews.
MARY Q - hope your machine is an easy fix and ready to go for you today. Glad you have access to such a beauty of a walking buddy. It's good for you to go walking, but I bet she really loves her walks with Gramma. We almost always use W&N batting. Up until our last bolt we always bought it in 40 yd bolts (90" wide) at the factory in Elma. But even their price there has gone up a LOT! You asked how many CW's I've made. I have probably stitched about 160 windows. But they aren't individually stitched like Judi's were. My white "pods" are machine stitched together first (I do 6 at a time for easier handling) and then the "windows" (colored 2-1/2" squares) are hand stitched. When I get several 6-pod sections done, I machine stitch them together. I'm a little more than halfway done. I do most of my hand stitching in front of the TV in the evenings. I would love to rearrange my sewing room, too. And I've done it a few times - but Bill always has to help and you've seen my floor to ceiling fabric cabinets! It's a BIG deal to rearrange my sewing room. But I always end up going back to what I have now. I do love the view out the big window when I sew, so I guess I'll just keep things the way they are.
JANA - I'm still chucking over Zion Canyon. I used to know of a girl in MN named Merry Christmas. I always wondered what she thought of her name - and what she thought of her parents for giving her that name! I hear you on lack of walls to display things. We don't exactly have the open concept you do (wish we did!) but our living/dining are basically all one 12x24 room. And the walls are all brick chimney, big window, half-wall where stairs come up from split level entry, and sliding glass door to deck. Not much room left for pictures. But the things I do display are mostly the big cross-stitch pictures I've made over the years. Family photos decorate our hallway - our Hall of Shame as it were. Bill doesn't care or even think about what goes on our walls, so I get to do what I want.
JUDI - Did you get your borders on yesterday? I finished all my blocks and now will start building the sections. Maybe today. I will get out my big flannel covered insulation boards that I like to call my design wall. How is Mickey doing? Said some prayers for him yesterday.
Yesterday I got my 13 heat packs finished, waiting for the corn filling to get here. After I fill the packs, I"ll make cases for them all. I made the last block in my KTVC. Then I retreated to my "nest" on the living room couch and read for a few hours. Bill picked up some Take'n'bake pizzas and friends came over to feast and visit. This morning is chiropractor - he keeps me walking! Then probably assemble a few sections of my quilt, work on CW's, and I hope to get out to the trailer and see that everything is ready for the A-Team. We have a little baby proofing to do. Plus we have new, flannel sheets to put on the bed. Bill said he cleaned. hahahahaha!! He always says that but between all of you and me, his idea of clean and mine vary somewhat.
Got to hit the shower before Bill leaves for the "Y". Bye for now,
mz

Re: Friday October 10, 2025
I grew up with a family in our Ward and their last name was Kane. They had a little girl, born on Christmas and named her, wait for it, Kandy! Yup, she was Kandy Kane, at least till she got married! My niece was born on the 23rd of December and they couldn't think of a middle name to go with her first name, Nicole, so Auntie here, tongue in cheek, suggested Noel, that became her middle name. So I'm bad too! Matt's dog, which was a Christmas present to Tanner, is named Noel too.. me bad!

And I'm back. Had to rush off. I try to get my shower in and then back upstairs before Bill leaves for the Gym - M/W/R.
JANA - have to say, I'd have been tempted to use Kandy Kane, too! We had a girl in our school named Chriss Cross. And I knew a woman named Sandy and married a guy who's last name was Beach. She became Sandy Beach! My friend's Gramma was Goldie Diamond (her married name). Santa brought our kids a puppy one Christmas and her name was Dasher.

Good Morning Girls
Oh what a lovely day!!! It's going to be a bright sunny day--perfect for a drive to St. Cloud to pick up my machine! The leaves turning colors all along with way will be a sight to see!
Lois.... I see Tami Jones all the time on Facebook! She's a hoot! She talks about her "little ladies" as she has twin girls that are about 4 yrs old ( and her "big baby--her son that's 22) She's just the sweetest thing and I do love her accent! She really has some fun ideas!
Flo....So sorry to hear your friend has passed. May she rest in God's peace!
Judi... Cutting fabric the length can be a little tough! Because my cutting table in the kitchen is 60" I have a little room to lay out a length. Do you cut the salvages off of your fabric -- like especially the pieces you use for backing? I never used to, but Viv recommended so now I lay the length of fabric, folded up a bit and ever so carefully trim the selvages off. With a good sharp blade I can cut through 8 thicknesses---slowly & carefully!
Jana... You only have garbage pick up every 3 weeks? Yikes!! My bin would be over flowing! It's every week here, but recycling is every other. There's a local St. Vincent DePaul store here, that takes fabric and clothes to shred and recycle, so I've been taking all my little unusable scraps there! Kind of nice that they don't end up a in a land fill!
Maryz.... It has been fun to have Zara here and she does motivate me to walk---we did it twice yesterday! I can't walk very far, and have to stop several times along the way. Next week I don't think I will keep her, but since the kids live so close and I know the code to get in their house, I'll just take her for a walk in their neighborhood. They didn't call me to say anything crazy about my sewing machine--like no extra cost, so I'll go grab it this morning and be back in business this afternoon. Since Bill's office is a bigger room than your sewing room---I suggest you switch rooms!
Here's a name for you ----pronounced "sh-thade" Spelled "Shithead" Not sure if that's real, but Sara was telling me it was a name at the hospital when Nolan was born.
Lori.... Nope, I haven't heard a word from KC since that last time I saw her a couple days before she left. She didn't call to say goodbye or thanks or when she arrived in Arkansas. She left a disaster in her apartment. I removed her from my phone and FB! Oh yes, no new craft projects here either, I'm out of spare bedrooms to set another craft project! Though I do have jewelry making supplies stashed in a closet!
Lyn.... Oh My gosh girlfriend.... Glad you got checked out and you have nothing broken!! I have only 3 rugs in the house for that reason... I'm terrified of falling!!
Valerie... $12.00/yd!!! Yikes!!! Makes me even more grateful that Viv quilts for me for free!!! I just supply the batting and sometimes I send her spools of thread. Though every time it's on sale she stocks up!
Chriss.... Funny you mentioned jelly roll race quilt... I found a roll that KC gave me and just yesterday afternoon kind of got it laid out to try JRR quilt! Must be ESP=----kind of scary how we think alike sometimes. In fact, I have 3 jelly rolls all set up to just sit and stitch--different patterns---now if I could only remember which is which!
Guess I better get going---am anxious to get my machine back. Might try to check out that thrift store that was closed the other day, and I have to drop off an Amazon return at the UPS store.
wishing you all a fabulous Friday!

Re: Friday October 10, 2025
Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful day today. We are looking at the 70's and perhaps rain by the end of the week. The ber months are finally doing their job and bringing in fall which will be followed by what I hope is a wet winter.
I had so much fun with the cousins yesterday. One wasn't there. I found out her cancer has come back and she is in the beginning stages of dementia. Guess we all keep getting older don't we.
Got a call from my counter top people, they will be here Tuesday. So excited. No sense in moping any floors till after they are done.
Lori, Moose is a napper too, almost all day long. He's got his favorite spots and there he lays. Lets call 2026 the stress free year and meet in the middle for lunch. Kettleman City, according to AI, is the half way point between you and me. Hope your cubs did well
Lyn, yay, the MH is complete and packing can commence. Before long you will be locked in your she shack sewing like a mad woman. So glad you didn't break anything.
Lois, a camera to see the underside of the quilt is a smart idea. I like those jackets made from quilts. I have seen one where you take a zip up hoodie and cove it in a quilt, that way you have the sweatshirt part inside and the quilt on the outside. cool.
Judi, glad Ken is excited about his new job. safe travels on picking him up. and prayers for the FIL and family.
Flo, sorry for the loss of your friend.
Jana, yay, no more braces. I wish DL ha a pass where you can just go and not ride the rides. I'd love to go in all the shops in both parks, it probably won't happen.
Maryz, dang, I still haven't gotten my tomato juice. Not sure why I keep forgetting it. Glad things are moving forward at your house and you will be ready when the kids get there. woo hoo.
Maryq, I have two JRR tops ready to be quilted. I love jelly rolls for that reason, they make a quick quilt. Can't wait to see yours. Have you gotten a bid on your counter tops yet?
Allrighty, I'm running quite late. no clue what dinner will be but I have a lot of choices.
You all have a fab day
Chriss

Re: Friday October 10, 2025
Good morning Tony is in surgery, I am in the waiting room. It will be a long wait. They did do a type and screen for blood and will have 2 units waiting just in case. I may take a little nap. Due to storms I didn't get to sew yesterday. I need to get a surge protector.
Chriss glad you had a good time with your cousins. Sad that one has dementia. I will pray that she is comfortable in her coming life.
Maryq I really miss having not been able to see the fall change. Maybe next year.
Flo so sorry
your friend has past. Praise God she didn't linger.
Maryz he has been running low since this cancer. This is the first he has been this low though. Usually 9 - 10 range. We also learned he has a right Bundle Branch Block. It doesn't seem to be an issue though.
We are expecting more rain today. It is 74 now with increased chance of showers this afternoon.
Well guess I will go watch the board. They update periodically so the foly knows what is happening
Ha e great day everyone

A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!
