MaryQ, I will happily trade you the 37° I woke up to, now only 53°.

Valerie, If you hadn't been in a hurry to get to Nevada, I would have suggested driving over Trail Ridge Rd, through Rocky Mtn National Park.

MaryZ, I'm not sure there will be much taken from here this trip. I may put some kitchen stuff that I could use in a box, but otherwise the important stuff is in Texas, my sewing stuff!!

The boiler was fixed yesterday, but plumber ordered a new wire, he doesn't like the connector on this one. It was so nice to take a hot shower!

The plumber was back this morning, meeting the building inspector. Out of the blue, the inspector tells me that he has to also check our smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke detectors are to be in every bedroom, not in the hallway. Carbon monoxide detectors have to be outside bedroom doors but within 15 ft of doors. Oh, and they want them to be the Bluetooth type that talk to each other. Will get on Amazon after this. Electric inspector is coming about noon.

I started laying out the applique flower blocks, gluing the pieces in place. Got to the basket and realized I hadn't cut the baskets out.

After some house chores, I will work on the baskets. Dinner will be beef stir fry.

Prayers for your needs.
Lyn

Lyn, the flowers are much more fun to make. Hope you get all the stuff worked out.

Jana, I agree. When I was working, if I was on day shift I had to get up at 3:45. I hated it. I'm not an early morning person. Thanks for the name of the donut place. I'll write and down and keep it with the other places I want to try out.

Maryq, I'll take your 82 and raise you to 90! Summers last hooray.

Valerie, good news about the appointment being moved up. Sometimes just calling seems to get the ball rolling. I have a friend that loves SewYeah.

Maryz, I miss a purring cat. I'm going to have to get one soon. There's a feral cat that hangs around my dads yard. Yes, I feed it every day. Dry and wet food. She doesn't run away anymore. I talk to her and she sits and listens. I got a little bit closer yesterday and she did a slow blink twice. I think she like me.

Judi, sounds like you had a great time. Now back to normal again. It's always nice to sleep in your own bed.

I had my drawing class this morning. Just got home. I need to get something to eat and then figure out my day. Dinner will be teriyaki chicken with fried rice.

Have a wonderful day.

Good afternoon from a warm, sunny, summery, SW. Pa...I agree with MaryQ, this is September, right??? But, as long as it stays like this, hopefully, it will keep winter away...Our weather has been so goofy, our trees are really confused and have been dropping their leaves for over a week..AND I'm pretty sure, the leaves have started to put on their display up in the mountains...We had taken a ride 2 weeks ago and you could tell, going to be so pretty.....
Today has been a weird day, haven't done a darn thing but get my hair cut and wonder from 1 room to the other and not get anything accomplished...Yesterday, I did take the big truck to get inspected, then we went so he could bid on a job and then back home...We kind of traded vehicles for a couple of days, he's working out of state and we decided my car would be better gas wise, so I have the other truck...I have a feeling my neighbors are wondering what's happening over here, lol.....
MaryZ, every once in awhile, you just need to get that much sleep...It seems now, my internal alarm goes off about 3:00 and I really do hate to get up in the dark and it's extra bad because the paper doesn't get here until 5:00, lol.....My Kevin still gets up at that unGodly hour, feeds the deer, puts his coffee on and gets his paper AND then as soon as it's light, he goes golfing.....I told my sister that you and Bill had to cancel your trip and she, like me, so disappointed....AND she did say, she would be more than happy to have you meet her doctor...In fact, I'd been willing to take you, he's special..I go along to her appointments just to get a look at him, lol.....

Lyn, Oh my, I sure don't want your temps, even the 53 is low for me, I'd be bringing out the flannel PJs and sheets.....I honestly don't know how you keep things straight...I'd probably wake up and wonder what part of the country I was in or how did I get here...You're an amazing gal!

Lois, by now, hopefully, that part is there...I can imagine how frustrating this whole venture has been.....But, hoping this will do the trick....

Jana, have been thinking about that donut! You know, the right donut just makes the day and also thinking, I haven't had "that" donut in quite a while....We used to stop at a special place every time we drove down to W. Virginia, when Terry was at WVU....We just might have to take a road trip one of these days, now that you woke up my taste buds......

Valerie, my hair cut was more like a trim....Years ago, when our Kathy was just 6 months old, my hair was very long and I had it cut short....She'd cry every time she looked at me and that short stuff...Since then, it's been short, like Jamie Lee Curtis...I really liked Robert Redford and loved that early movie with Jane Fonda (which I can't remember the name)...The newly wed couple in the tiny appartment....Gonna have to look it up and watch it again.....

Chriss, sorry to hear you have to wait for that appointment but, just think how much better you'll feel when that time comes...You really have made a remarkable, quick (to me) recovery...But, you know what they say, can't keep a good woman down, right! Hope you post pictures of those new counter tops...I have dark wood in the kitchen and the counters are kind of speckled, grey, white and black, black appliances (which I don't like) but I'm thinking about new flooring....Would also like the guest bathroom done over but there again, time and $$$, lol.....

Oh my, didn't realize how long it's taken to post...I need to run to Walgreen's and pick up a couple prescriptions..I think tomorrow, I might just go get a new phone and then pick up some groceries, neither job I'm looking forward to....

As for supper, could just be egg salad sandwich or toasted cheese with tomato........

You all have a great rest of the day................

Good afternoon. It's a bit warm outside but it's nice and cool in the house. We are supposed to see rain at the end of this week, not going to hold my breath.

Lowes just called, they will be here in 1 1/2 hours to measure my counters. I will be glad when that job is done.

I'm considering going to the farmers market tonight and then $10 burgers, but I probably will stay home.

Judi, I want to plant milkweed, but I can't find it here. And places that I could order it from won't send it to Cali. Glad you are safely home.

Flo, you will get a lot of enjoyment out on that patio. sounds like it will be peaceful.

Maryz, woo hoo for 8 hours sleep. Doesn't it feel good? So glad you figured out the referral thing. I've had that happen where a referral just sits. very frustrating. Love that your parents countertops matched the floor. I'm not quite going that far but I like the counters I picked out and am thinking of painting the cabinets grey

Jana, Perhaps you didn't see my request of an apple fritter? Perhaps next time. When I eat donuts or cupcakes, which isn't often, I eat the cake part first and the frosting last.

Lois, chocolate chip cookies and snowmen, perfect combo.

Valerie, my appointment got moved because the doctor wants to see me 4 weeks after my release. He didn't want me to come in any earlier than that. I've read that in Cali there is some kind of a law where you have to be seen by a doctor in a timely manner, whatever that is. Perhaps it's the same for Tony? In any event, you were certainly the squeaky wheel and it paid off. I dare you to cut that hair to your shoulders. LOL>

Maryq, when I was getting ball park quotes for my counters I got a quote on each material. I wanted to see the difference in cost between quartz, solid surface, granite and laminate. I'm saving a lot by going laminate. My firs laminate counter tops have lasted 35 years, the next ones will outlast me. Hoping you get a good price.

Lyn, sounds like you are on it. Those detectors will be chatting up a storm. I had a smoke detector in every bedroom and one in the hall. Now I think I only have a couple in the house.

Lori, glad that kitty is warming up to you. she will be sitting in your lap looking for an ear scratch before long.

O'Dorothy, I am also surprised at my recovery, and I am glad the appointment has been pushed out a bit. I will be much better by then. So? is there a picture of you driving this big truck. You go girl. My counters will be white with grey marbling. I will likely paint the cabinets grey. I will need to figure out window coverings. Not sure which room I will do next, perhaps the bathrooms. When I am done with all rooms I plan to paint and finally floors.

I may steal O'Dorothy's dinner ideas, a chopped egg sandwich sounds good, unlss I go to farmers market.

You girls have a great rest of the day.
