Good morning,

It's Early and probably all of you are sleeping I fell asleep early and got up early just couldn't roll over and get back to it so here I am with coffee in my room and watching murder she wrote.

Mary how is Scottie doing?
Well yesterday started out well I got laundry done sheets and my blanket got washed and dried and bed got remade.
Then I went upstairs to poke around reread my Manuel and trouble shooting book and I tried to see what was going on well I called good ol grace company I got the same technician for the previous two other times spoke about the bobbin spring but I new it had to be the bobbin case so he asked to see a picture so I took several I said by looking in the book I told him the little arm on the bobbin case is bent and he agreed also told well you know those bobbin cases are 80.00 and I told him well you know I haven't had that machine for a year yet so he said well I well get one out to you and then I told him to FedEx it to me because I still have that same client who wants her quilt low and behold I got an email I will have it tomorrow by the way I'm my own client  .next to my name must be a big red check.
So today I will work on the snowman quilt then this afternoon Bill has a dermatologist apt and I will go for the ride.
I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning,

LOIS, I was asleep at 2am your time, but an hour later I was up to take the night shift. But I finally fell back asleep about 2am MY time and slept until the dog alarm went off just before 5. And by the way, the Dog Alarm is alive and well and demanding his breakfast! But if he keeps this up, he may not be for long! Glad you figured out your problem and finally got the company to pay attention. So they get a D- for post-purchase customer service interspersed by A+ when you get tough with them. I hope they keep their word.

LORI - Your son has been in Texas for over a year now, hasn't he? Is the house fixed up yet? Wasn't his original plan to fix and sell? - maybe in two years? Do you have any plans to go visit him? He lives 140 miles from Cindy in Cypress and 120 miles from Sue in Spring. He is 270 miles from LYN, and about 300 from us - when we are in TX. You could kill a whole flock of birds with one stone if you decided to visit and timed it right! We could have a great party! (if we were there. ) Your boys are 9??! Seems like you just brought your fluffy puppies home, too! Scottie is 12. I increased his Gallaprant and I think he feels better, but I'm still not going to make him walk anymore. Not even the 1/2 mile I'm down to. Not after his arthritic back end collapsed the other day.

JUDI - I'm thinking you will be home today! I've missed you! Even though you've posted every day like usual. Isn't that odd - but nevertheless, I've missed you and glad you'll be back home soon. But what a wonderful getaway you've had! But you've got quilts to make, so tell Ken to put a little hustle in his bustle and get you home soon now!

IRISH, IRISH, IRISH!!! You're here! So much to catch up on! Your new man, your new trucking career, your new quilts to make. You sound happy. Your sister isn't part of the forum, but it just seems like she is since she seems to be the ringleader in many of your exploits. I cyber-ly tap her on the shoulder with my seam ripper to make her an honorary member of our forum. As a moderator, I can do important stuff like that. I think. And now as a member, she has to at least come and watch you sew something. How are your kids, and your grandkids. And your GREAT grandkids?? Any more new babies?

CHRISS - today is doctor day! Yay Day! Do you have a driver? We want full report when you return. Did your dad paint the chair the color you were thinking? Even if not, it's a win that he did it. I love the idea of including photos of the generations who have used that chair. And if you're missing a generation, maybe with modern wizardry, you can photoshop the chair with missing persons. And don't forget a photo of Elliott with the chair!

VAL - sorry you seem to be getting nearly nowhere with the medical system there. Can you call the insurance company and verify that he has indeed been approved to receive care? I suppose if he tried a different doctor he'd have to go through the entire rigamarole again ? What about a different ER, maybe deeper into the metro area? We have learned the hard way, outlying medical care can be iffy. If it looks you'll be there a very long time, and if your DH has little else to occupy him, would it be feasible for him to drive home to get a sewing machine? You asked for ideas. Those are mine. Probably not helpful but it was all I could think of. Praying for you and for your DBIL.

MARY Q - I see your criss cross apron pattern is on sale today here on Q. Just in case you've worn out yours. Have to say, it is the best apron I've ever worn! Full coverage and easy to get into and out of. And I love that it's revesible. Thanksgiving/Christmas aprons would be a hit! Scottie was 12 in July. His anniversary of the day he got us at Safeway was Sept 13 - Friday the 13th to be exact. That should have told us something about this nutso dog right there! 💗💗🐕‍🦺 You said you were working on binding for your "flamboyance" (haha, love that word!) so that's why I thought it was already quilted. I hope you're keeping this cute keeper.

FLO - glad you didn't have to go in and "work the mud" yourself! It's a tough job. I have done it. But supervising is tough, too!

LYN - sorry about the trail ride being cancelled and even sorrier about your boiler. This is worriesome when you aren't there in winter to catch it Great save on the taco seasoning. I always have chili powder and cumin in my spice collection. The trail ride, though, sounds interesting. Do you ride, normally? How about Garry?

JANA - congratulations to Daniel! It's wonderful to see your kids do well. And glad to hear Tanner is getting exercise, and honing his skills! How are your grand-kittens doing? Have you met them yet? What's the news from your sewing room? I've lost track. How did your BP check go? My dr put me back on meds last week - Losartan.

DIANE - how did your dr appt go?

Yesterday I had chiro appt. Then we got an impromptu happy hour invite so Bill went to the store for appetizer ingredients. I spent a little bit of time working on VC Candy Canes, took a nap, and made that appetizer. Today, Lee & Lara return and Drew is coming over to see his parents. We're getting a couple Papa Murphy's take'n'bake pizzas, coleslaw, and ice cream Nutty Buddy's for dessert.

We made a couple short videos (10-second) and sent them to the A-Team. They sent back videos of Amara watching them. She remembers us!!! She pointed out "Pop", "Tractor", "Scottie", and "Nonn.zcheeoiz". Autumn says I need a catchier name than Nonnie. Apparently it's tough to pronounce. lol! We have to be more on top of pictures and little videos. We've been distracted by all the health stuff going on this summer and simply forgot to do this simple little thing. Bad grandparents!!

Have a happy Tuesday!

Good morning ladies, I am continuing on my cleaning journey. Living room today and will have DH dust and vacuum in our room. That leaves the windows and office/boxing room. I may look into hiring a windows cleaner. Box room can wait till next week.

Spoke to another nurse at the insurance company yesterday. She was going to contact the Dr office. We didn't hear back so I don't know what that means. He did say the diarrhea stopped so hoping that is a good thing and it stays stopped.

That's my life these days. Getting very little if no knitting done. I really gotta focus on it.

Left hip is not liking all this cleaning. His sister is concerned he has been feeling bad for a while and just didn't say anything. I tend to agree.

Flo that will be a wonderful porch. Is it going to be covered?

Judi so happy your trip turned out good.

Chriss glad to hear you are improving.

Happy day to all. Wish I had my laptop.

Good morning!

I also got the 2 am rudely wake up. It was a thunder bolt that was right over the house, that rattled the whole house. One of those flash, booms, at the same time. Finally quieted down in about a hour. Rained like the dickens too. So I perused the news and saw that Robert Redford passed away. Those blue eyes! He was once married to my BFF's aunt, for a time.

Trying to figure out something to do today. Ther a long running joke in this family. It's from a old cartoon my kids watched, called, Pinky and the Brain. Two lab rats, and Pinky always asks, Hey, Brain, what are we going to do today. To which, Brain answers, same thing we do everyday, try to take over the world. So that's what's up here, trying to take over the world! Pinky is the slow thinker , and Brain is supposedly the smart one. You guess who's who here! 😀

My BP is stable. On the very slightly high side of what my dt wants, but he's good with that and didn't change my medication. I'm good to the next appointment in March.

My other stove burner grate arrived yesterday. Nice to just open the box and put it in place on a clean stove.

No sleeping in tomorrow either. Daniel needs a ride to the airport for a early flight. We are leaving here at 4:45 am to take him there. Bright spot, there's a really good donut shop that's open that early with fresh hot donuts. No, its not that one that has the flashing hot donut sign, those are terrible! This is a independent shop. I've been wanting a donut.

A couple of loads of laundry and hopefully see the Batt Cave. It appears that there are no Dr appointments until October. Whoopee!

Time to scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

Cool but Sunny, rain this afternoon.

MaryZ, I haven't ridden in years. Growing up on the farm, we had a horse.

Plumber was here by 10 yesterday. The part where the natural gas comes in seems to be the problem. A new one will be installed this morning. Plumber, Alex, was very apologetic, saying in 19 years he's never had this happen. Leave it to my new boiler to be the first. MaryZ, I am concerned about leaving for the winter. Hopefully after this repair, it will behave. The Blink cameras can show me the temp inside, which is helpful.

I never got to sewing yesterday. I had to go to the post office and grocery store. Then on my way home I remembered it was the 15th and the estimated tax had to be mailed, so I made a second trip to town. The neighbors were up and stopped to visit before taking a drive in Rocky Mtn National Park.

Hope everyone has a good day.
Lyn

Good Morning Girls

Am caught up on the news for now, so here I am! When I turn on my computer in the morning and head to the internet, all sorts of news pops up and since last Wednesday, there has sure been lots of it---and lots of opinions too! Some I listen to, a lot I ignore!

Lois... Good for you! Glad to hear you persisted in getting your machine part!!! Hopefully you were able to keep your cool---not like the raving maniac I was talking to LG dishwasher company! Sounds like you are getting to know that phone-technician really well!!

Judi... Welcome Home!!

Flo.... I think it's going to be ugly day here too! Somedays I'm so tempted to hire a cleaning service---just think how much more sewing time we would have if we didn't have cleaning to do! But, on the other hand, there's other things I'd rather spend my money on than a house keeper!

Maryz... I have 2 copies of that criss-cross apron pattern!!! I did have to buy a new one a while back and also traced a copy of it---just in case!!! I did contemplate making more this year for the craft fair, but decided against it--they are way more labor intensive--and made just plain little ones--they sold better last year anyway. Flamingoes are done, but I'm debating on quilting myself, or saving for Viv----they are going on a road trip so it would be MONTHS, before she could get to it! I may give it to my DB & SIL for their Airstream! My sis is "Nonnie" to her grand kids too! I'm just Nana! I bet in no time at all Amara will say Nonnie loud and clear!!!

Valerie.... If I weren't so far away, I'd come wash windows--it's one of the few house chores I actually like to do!! Hope you hear back from either Doctor or Insurance soon and that they can make a plan for Tony!!!

Jana..... Years ago there was a TV show where one of the character used to say "Don't you love it when a plan comes together" Sounds like your plans are coming together--the grate fit and more importantly there's a great donut shop on the way to the airport!!

Chriss..... Will be thinking about you today--hoping you get all great news from your Dr. appointment. It's wonderful to hear that you feel so good with minimal pain. How did it go with Lowes coming for counter tops? I finally made the phone call to have somebody come and look at mine--there are SO ugly! I called the company that did the cabinet work when we built our house in 1986!! Small company right in town. The guy that used to own it was a long time customer at our drugstore and his kids went to school with mine! Am crossing my fingers that I can pull it off.

Irish... Great to see you!!! Hope you stop by often!!

Lori.... I think Amazon owns Whole Foods or a subsidiary or something like that---which is probably why they want returns to go there. When I did the return last time, I could have take to UPS store, but it wasn't free any more... only free place as WF! I shopped there once when my BFF visited--only because that's the only place she shops--long story. I sure couldn't afford that place on a regular basis.

Well, looking around here I can tell it's time to get to work... the house is still relatively clean, but since I don't have a "Yoohoodi" I think I better haul out the vacuum cleaner and run it a bit--it always looks so nice when the carpet it clean!

Wishing you all the very best day.

Good morning. what a wonderful day today is going to be.

My follow up appointment has been moved, which means I had to move other appointments that need to happen after the follow up. I have two doctors in the same facility. The person making the appointments couldn't grasp the concept of getting these appointments on the same day without a huge amount of time in between. So I picked a date and asked if she could schedule the appointments nearer to each other and what do you know, she could. Both of these doctors will need bloodwork, likely the same bloodwork for the most part. The person I talked to was clueless as to how the doctors could share bloodwork info. So she will make sure both doctors submit orders for bloodwork. I will work it out with the blood work people. Sometimes I wonder if I am speaking a foreign language.

My goal for today is grocery shopping and fill my gas tank. Food just doesn't taste the same yet. I'm hoping I get my taste back. Nothing really sounds good.

O'Dorothy, it always makes me smile when you pop in here. Would love to see a picture of you in that big girl truck.

Lori, Moose sleeps really soundly like Molly did. Glad there is no basement, that would have been a greatly filled storage space. Hope Johnathan had a marvelous birthday.

Lois, you are your own client? How much do you charge yourself. So glad they are helping you with your machine.

Judi, glad you had fun, safe travels home.

Flo, nice to have help and no have to play in the cement.

Maryz, it will be nice to have a family dinner. Pizza is the perfect meal, not a lot of cooking. My doctor appointment has been moved. I'm really feeling good, no marathon's yet. I do need to walk more, my breathing is so so much better.

Valerie, I hope that the cleaning ends soon, your hip could use the rest.

Jana, So nice to have a month free of appointments. Seems that I was also free of appointments for a time between Jerry's dying and my heart junk, now it' like juggling doctors. I agree, Krispy Creme donuts are disgusting. Hot or not, they just aren't good. Feel free to bring me an apple fritter from that donut shop. Loved Pinky and the Brain.

Lyn, glad the boiler stuff is figured out and being fixed. I get anxious about property taxes. Ours won't be available for payment until October 1, but I want them paid so I keep checking the website. I'm OCD about quite a few things.

Maryq, the doctor appointment has been pushed out to the end of this month. Seems the doctor wants to see me 4 weeks after my hospital release, And, he's only in the office on Tuesday's. Lowes will be here tomorrow. Today I need to remove everything off of the counter tops. Nothing is really heavy so I am able to do it myself. Hoping you get new counters too. There is a huge cost difference depending on the material you choose. My counters will be just over $2,400 and I am going laminate. Other materials would be more than double that and for me it's just a kitchen.

I need to hit the shower and start my day. It's already starting to warm up out there and like Lori said, summer is showing up again.

I will know what dinner will be when I get to the grocery store, I would love some fish.

You girls have a fab day

Maryq, I think I read that Amazon bought WF. I just forgot.

Lyn, glad they found the problem and can fix it quickly. Good thing you are still there. Bill sent off our taxes yesterday. We pay quarterly as well.

Jana, that's an early flight. You'll have to share the name of the good donut shop. That way I can stop there next time I'm up that way.

Valerie, I too have to really focus when I knit. I haven't done a lot and can get lost very easily.

Maryz, yes, Jonathan has been in TX for 1 year 9 months. He completely took the house down to the studs and is rebuilding the entire thing himself. He takes a lot of breaks. He almost has the outside finished. Roof, windows, doors, siding, etcetera. He says it's really hot and there's a lot of bugs, and snakes. Yuk!
He had the electrical, and septic put in and ran the water line himself. That way he can live in his trailer on the property. He's in no hurry and talking about looking at property in CO when he's done. He misses the mountains. How did Mr. Scottie get to be 12. They are such great companions to us. Give him a little scratch behind the ear for me. I bet Ms. Boots was happy to see Nonnie and Pop.

Chriss, I see you snuck in there while I was posting. Sorry your appointments got canceled. I know what you mean about speaking with some people. When my dad was on hospice the doctors office called to schedule an annual appointment. When I explained he was on hospice, she just repeated the question. My reply was, "did you hear what I said?" This went on several times. I hope you get you taste buds back soon. It took a long time for me to get mine back after surgery. It's been a rough 2 years for you. Good thing Mr. Elliott came along to brighten you way.

Judi, I need a vacation. I just need to plan one and go.

Lois, fingers crossed this gets done. Customer service is a top priority with me when I buy a product. I don't think I would ever buy from that company.

It's going to be a hot one. Will be closing up the house soon. I'll do a few more drawers or cupboards today with the A/C on. Bill off golfing and we'll head out for a late lunch instead of dinner.

Have a lovely day.
