It's actually Sunday night as I post, but cement truck will be here at 8am. We are pouring back patio extention. We have 2 people scheduled to help us, but I'm afraid at some point I will be knee deep in mud rather than on coffee duty.
Will post again when done with task. Wish me luck

Good morning,
Today will be a quiet day I'm going to start cutting out the snowman hat and sew this block together while I wait for grace company to open they sent the bobbin springs but something is definitely wrong so I will wait till they open
.
Yesterday was a nice day I got a much needed haircut and then we went to Burlington Sandi got pants and a pair of PJ pants Olivia got a new bag it had pumpkins and black cats on them I didn't find anything the store is messy and I don't do messy
The selection of coats were terrible so this is another store like tj mack and Marshalls .
We never went to the warehouse yesterday Sandi said she will come back without Olivia as Olivia was a little crabby yesterday so I was just as happy not going there.
Flo I hope your day goes well and you don't have to help with the cement.
I hope everyone's day goes good.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good morning. 4 a.m. seems to be my wake up lately and I hate it. By 8p.m. I feel shot.
FLO--how large of an extension are you adding? We added about 10 feet when we lived in NY and loved it. It ended up the best place in the nice weather. Hope everything goes smooth for you today.
LOIS--I don't go shopping with anyone. I'm not a window shopper as all. When I need to go-I go alone, pick up a few items try on-fits I buy and head home. I have no patience for jumping from 1 store to another. YUK I know friends who love going thru the stores for hours looking for "something but don't know what".
Today I see the doctor, chemo will not be advised. Radiation markings will be done 10/9 and start a week later. Hormone therapy for 5 years but should find out today when that will start.
Hope everyone has a nice day.
Prayers for those in need.
Has anyone heard from BECCA ??

Re: Monday September 15,2025
Good morning,
I was asleep by 9pm last night. Awake at 10:30. Had to get up and Scottie, who sleeps on the floor by my side of the bed, didn't move. He always moves! I touched him, flipped at his feet, and tried to move him. He didn't wake up. I had to put my hand on his chest to make sure he was breathing. He was - but very shallow. He scared me! Yesterday his back end kind of gave out. I am now giving him his entire dose of Galliprant (for pain). I was giving him only half because he gets a monthly injection of Librela for arthritis. Poor puppy. It seems we just brought home this 7 week old wiggly ball of fluff and suddenly he's an old dog.
LORI - I like that Independence pattern. I Googled it and saw the kit is $26 cheaper on Etsy (on sale) than Fort Worth Fabric Studio. I didn't see it on QIAD but I didn't look very hard. There were too many other tempting pattens and I didn't want to fall down any rabbit holes! What is wrong with Bill's back? Has he had surgery? Mine is severe arthritis, bone spurs, bulging discs, squashed discs, displaced vertebrae, and I don't know what all else. That's all in the lumbar region. They haven't done any thoracic images yet.
LYN - how did your salsa turn out? I made it once - years ago. It was great! I should have made more and canned it, but Bill doesn't seem to be a fan. He's never actually said he doesn't like it, but he will refuse salsa when it's offered and eat his tortilla chips dry. So I don't bother making it any more. I keep it on hand for company. Hope your weather improves.
VAL - I like your new pattern. Now if you could find a sewing machine . . . . I see them in thrift shops quite often. Just a thought just in case you ended up hanging at Tony's longer than you thought. I think you were wise not to try to persuade Tony to not go to see a fight. I'm sure doing something fun and normal was good medicine for him. (though I think a quilt show would be better medicine!) At least for you and me! How did he tolerate an evening out.
CHRISS - what a nice time - pizza with Dad & Judy and old stories! Good for the stomach and the soul! And what a sweetie that he painted the little chair! What color is it?
JUDI - I Googled Kitch-iti-kippi. What a beautiful place! It will be fun to explore and a purrfect finale to a purrfect vacation.
MARY Q - you have your flamingoes quilted already?? You go, girl! How big is the flamingo quilt? And I just had another idea - it would appeal only to a certain market so you wouldn't have to make many - but something to hang on the front or side of a walker to carry stuff. They really should design walkers with a hook to hang a tote bag on. But they don't. So, something needs to be designed. Ergo, I nominate you! And pizza - you and I are twins! Pepperoni, olives (any and all kinds!), and lots of cheese. Add crumbled bacon (not Canadian), and it's purrfection! Bill likes Hawaiian, so we always get half and half.
JANA - kudos to you for fixing things! You are turning into another Lyn! A very good thing! And yes, that Limelight looks pretty simple. And I like Courthouse Steps patterns - I have done a few variations of it in years past. I think this will be fun and a pattern I'll use more than once.
LOIS - you had a good day yesterday - a hair cut, family, and Burlington! Though I agree - I've only been in a few Burlingtons and they are messy. Clothes off hangers, laying on the floor, no help, etc. But I still wish I'd been doing a ride-along with you. And you still have Fabric Warehouse to look forward to!
FLO - I've been caught up in cement duty before myself. I'm wishing you luck - be prepared!
DIANE - I'm with you! I'm not a shopper except for fabric, groceries, thrift. When I'm with my two sisters, we hit the thrift shops and spread out, each doing our own thing, coming together a few times in the store to share laughs over some of the goofy things we've found. It's our entertainment, our sister time together. Otherwise, I only shop when I really need something and I go alone. Good news on your medical stuff. Glad you don't have to endure chemo.
Yesterday was a quiet day here. In the early morning, I cut out the candy cane blocks in Vintage Christmas. Then we watched the Seahawks wipe up the field with Irish's Pittsburg Steelers. I texted her during the game as she lives near Pittsburg and is a fan. She is doing great! I told you she has a boyfriend - younger than her. He owns some kind of business I think. She has learned to drive his pick-up and sometimes helps out, picking up lumber, etc for him when he is on a job. She sounds happy - and has a full life. But her sister, Joann, the instigator in so many of their escapades, is having a few health issues. Maybe cardiac. They aren't sure yet. A prayer for Joann would be appreciated, I am sure. Irish and Joann were on our visiting list for our trip and I'm bummed to not be able to meet them - along with MQ, Judi, Lois, and more. Next year . . . .
Today I have chiropractor. But before I go, I want to do a tiny bit of dusting. I noticed things are getting a little out of hand in the dust department. Otherwise, other than my prescribed exercises, I'm doing very little. I might sew some on the candy canes. There are 8 of them so with the way I am now, they will probably take me 8 days! But there's no rush anyway. It's nice to have an easy project to just play with when mood and energy strike.
Hope your Monday holds something fun for you.

JUDI just sent a quick text via sattelite. They are on their way to Kitchi Kippi, and then on to the Soo Locks. She has no internet but says hi to all and will check in when she can. What a nice trip they have had! They even got to see the Northern Lights glowing brilliant green last night!

Good morning!
A wonderful day starting out here. Rain is coming this week. Temperatures are slowly dropping.
We had fun with the kids last night. Tanner misunderstood what was needed from the coach to try out for the basketball team. He thought that a city league was all needed to sharpen his skills. But no, coach conducts practice too. So Tanner is doing about 12 hours of practice each week. He's a tired puppy!
Daniel was offered that new job and is awaiting the official paper offer with a salary. So he will be changing jobs shortly. The salary starting almost doubles his current income. That's good. And when Kari went back to her old job, she got a nice raise too.
Today I have a Dr appointment for a check on my BP. And renew my prescription. So other than that, not much.
Fall decorations may come out today. Not many, just 3 totes.
Do something fun!
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning
We are still into the 90's here in what we call Beautiful Downtown Indian Springs. The really is no downtown. At last count less than 900 people here.
Jana congratulations on the new job for Daniel. Always nice to double your income.
Maryz that little dog would have scared me too. Hope he is better this morning
Lyn salsa is out for me. But I love Guacamole with no onions.
Maryq wow those flamingos are moving right along. They are so cute.
Tony's night out was okay. His choice to win lost but that's how it goes sometimes. He did sleep quite a bit more yesterday morning though. We went to a friend of his yesterday afternoon and I think it was just too hot and he had to go sit down. He got a bit nauseous
and didn't look so good so took him to sit in the shade. This gentleman is some sort of a cop and has set up a farm at his place. He and his wife live off their land and raise their own meat. He couldn't drive home so DH did. I told him he needs to chill for a few days.
As for me. I am still cleaning. 3rd day on the kitchen. I will wrap that up today and start on the living room. Lots and lots of dust.
But for now time for coffee refill and breakfast.

It will be a nice day on the Mtn.
I had setup a trail ride this morning at 11 with Kaylyn. Woke up at find it a little cool in the house. The new boiler combo has a Flame failure. Texted plumber and he will be here after 10, so I had to cancel the ride. I hope this isn't a sign of how it's going to run this winter. This is something I'm Not going to try and fix myself.
The salsa turned out good. I was going to use it on taco salad, but found I didn't have a taco seasoning packet for the hamburger. This happens when you have more than one kitchen. I know there's one or more in the MH.
So, we had Taquitos with some lettuce and salsa on top.
Don't know what the day will be now.

Re: Monday September 15,2025
Good Morning Girls
Looks like it's going to be another hot one here! I have a couple errands to run this morning this morning but after that I'll be back in the sewing room with the AC on!
Flo...As I'm looking at the clock here now-we are in same time zone, I'm picturing you with big old boots on moving cement around. But I do hope that you have enough help so you can just be in charge of coffee and donuts for your workers!
Lois... What???? Your Grace machine is still giving you problems? Man I hope you can some good answers!! I don't suppose they have a technician that will come out to your house to service it. Viv has an APQS LongArm, and they will send someone out, even to her small little town. Hope you get some good answers today--as I'm guessing you have a few tops you'd like to get done.
Diane.... We are similar shoppers!!! I want to go in, grab a pair of jeans, check out and be done! Have you ever heard of "Christine's Home Affairs"? It's a gal on Youtube who posts a ton of videos on cool things to make and sell. Last Spring she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is now done with Chemo and getting ready for radiation. She is so interesting-- Here's a link
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... th+affairs I've made quite a few of her things!!
Maryz.... Oh no, I don't have the flamingoes done! I finished the baby boy quilt--except for the binding which I will finish tonight. How old is Scotty now? I do remember when you got him! I have seen patterns for walker bags, and it's a good idea to whip up some of those. I'm still trying to figure out that last idea you sent me
I sort of remember Joann... but didn't realize she was Irish's sister.
Jana... Congratulations to Daniel on his new job! And Kate too!! ONLY 3 boxes of fall decor??? The extent of mine fits in one little drawer!!
Valerie... Any word on when Tony can get into the right Doctor? are you still dealing with insurance or is it just scheduling with doctors and surgeons.
Lyn... Trail ride? On horses? How cool is that! Hope you get everything fixed up! Last time I bought taco seasoning, I bought a little can of, instead of the packets. It's actually come in pretty handy, as sometimes, cuz it's just me, I only want to make a 1/2lb of burger for taco meat.
Chriss... How was the pizza!!!
Well, you guys, it's take me over an hour to actually get this typed. Between deciding to jump in the shower, tho go back and dry my hair, then grab more coffee, then look up something.. I've dawdled a bit!! So for now I'll sign off and get busy. Need to run up to drugstore to pick up an Rx, then since the Dollar Tree is right down the street I need to pick up some gift bags for Baby boy quilt and wedding gift quilt and some cards. This time I made a list!!
I wish you all the very best today. With prayers always for my special friends.
