Morning
Yesterday was a long day. The little girl I babysit is well behaved but active. Mom works from 6 am to 6:30pm on Fridays so dad drops her off. Welk dad had to work late too so she was here til 7, she gets dropped at 8am. She got to help me make meatballs and biscuits. Kids brought lasagna for supper. DS1 goes back on road Sunday night. A fellow trucker will pick him up and take him up to Iowa where the terminal is.
Monday at 8am concrete truck will be here at 8am, we are pouring a patio in back yard. I'm tired already!

Good morning, everyone!

The weekend! Yay! Though, actually weekends are no different than week days here, but still, they have that weekend "cache`".

QIAD has a lot of Fall/Halloween patterns on sale today plus a lot of fabrics to go with if anyone is interested in a fun new project.

LOIS, I'm so glad you got your spring - and to get a second spring for all the trouble they put you through is a nice plus. Glad you got your snowflake finished. Is your sewing room gray or one of the other rooms in your house? What color are you thinking of changing it to? When my Lara was in high school, about 1989, I was gone for the day and came home to find she'd painted her room dark blue. I was kind of shocked, but praised her for making a decision, going to buy the paint, and doing all the work! When she moved out after graduation, I repainted it a sunny yellow and it became my sewing room.

VAL - to your DBIL, you must be a beautiful angel! I pray you are able to get him some medical help soon. Did he go to the ER? Sounds like that's the only way to get him possibly admitted.

TINA B - Thank you again for your gift of the tiny pocket prayer quilt. You are very special to do this for anyone who needs it. And I've sent you a PM. I'd like another one for my friend, Susie, who has many medical problems, and fell at church two weeks ago. She is really struggling with the injuries from that fall. I know she would be grateful for your little quilt. Thank you!

LORI - I love sending and receiving cyber doggie hugs from your beautiful boys! I would love to meet them in person one day. If you ever decide to take an Alaskan cruise, I have my hand in the air to babysit them! And we'll even give you a ride to and from Seattle to catch the boat! Did you get those cupboards cleaned? Kitchen? Sewing? Other?

JANA - I hope you got your deck Christmas stuff purchased before grumpy Mr. Grumpy returned! How did his appt go yesterday? I do understand how so many appointments can be overwhelming. I feel for him - and for you. And for Sarah!

JUDI - I think it was a good idea to pass on the hike down to the mine. But it would have been interesting. You seem to be finding something fun and interesting to do every day and yet time to relax and enjoy your rustic cabin, you soothing view and some pretty good food. I'm vacationing with you in spirit! I think that plant sale and farmers market today will be fun. I hope you find some plants to love! And yes, those tiny prayer quilts from Tina are a blessing to us!

LYN - nice to be able to meet your DB and DSIL for lunch. Hope you made it in time! What is going on today?

CHRISS - Great to set yourself little goals and doesn't it feel good when you reach them! And don't be shy asking someone, even Dad, to take you to the store. People want to help but many don't know what to do.

MARY Q - are you settled back into your routine again now after your frenzy of cleaning, visiting, and craft sewing? What's the story from your sewing room today?

FLO - even for a well behaved little girl, 12 hours of babysitting is a long time! A new patio! You will love it!

Yesterday went by so quickly. Bill took me to chiropractor. They (father/son team - both work on me) were able to pinpoint the exact spot in my upper back - T9 vertebra - and they worked on me pretty thoroughly. I felt so much better! And I slept all night long!! And this morning, I actually hit the sewing room for about 1/2 hour. And I'll go back there in a little while and get my three tall trees from the KTVC done. And since I've been doing a lot of sitting around, my CW is coming along, too. I have my planned project (60"x64") about 1/3 done. The thing about CW's, is you can call it done pretty nearly any time you want. But for now, I'm still going strong. Bill did the grocery shopping yesterday and did a good job. Today he's going to Costco. I just can't walk around the stores right now. Our chili & cornbread last night was delicious and, of course, as I planned, we have plenty for tonite and might have it over 1/2 baked potato. I will freeze the rest for later meals. I'm trying to stock the freezer with some ready made meals for those days when I just can't spell able to stand in the kitchen.

I don't really have any planned sewing projects waiting in the wings so I've decided to start on my DGK's wedding quilt tops after I finish VC. Was it Jana who had this idea several months back? I like it. I won't quilt them, but will have the tops ready. Now, if we can just find Drew, age 32, a girlfriend, I'll be set, ready, and waiting!

have a fun day!

Good morning

Today is make a plan to clean the house. I am a bit overwhelmed by the mess but will tackle it one day at a time. Thinking I should start with the kitchen. He has obviously no been feeling good for some time.

He went to the ER the other day Mary and they wouldn't admit him. We have an appointment on the 25th but trying to move that up. They were supposed to call us yesterday but didn't happen. We were able to get some nausea medication from his PCP. I think it's the pain medicine he isn't tolerating.

The only sewing I have is a binding. No machine here. Or other supplies for that matter. I do have some knitting. Other than that. Same old Same old.

Have a great day

Good morning!

Bright and a big glare on my screen! But sun is good!

Don't have much planned for today. We may go for a short ride, somewhere out and about. I may play 8n the Batt Cave as well. Right now most of the stores have nothing but Halloween decorations, which I have afew, and don't need all these yard ugly ooes. Who really needs a 18ft skeleton? Not me! Halloween used to be fun for the little ones, not to see who can scare them!

Well, it's breakfast time,
Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Oh dear, here I thought I could haul out the sweatshirts and sweaters, but it looks like I might have to turn that AC back on today!! Darn!!!

Lois.... glad you got your springs!!! I bet you are anxious to get back to quilting your projects! Is you Flamingoes ready to go? Can your son be bribed with a good meal to come and paint? I'd send my son to help, but he's not very good at it!! What color? My sewing room is a very pale grey---only because I don't do beige. Tho one wall is a little darker because I goofed and ran out of the paler grey!

Judi.... I'm sorry you have to go home!! The week sure went by so fast for you. When you get done making hexie's--- are you ever done?--- will you stitch them all together by hand? I saw a tutorial somewhere, where they stitched them together to a backing piece (maybe muslin) with decorative stitches. It was kind of cute!

Flo.... YEAH a new patio!!! Won't that be wonderful to have a nice place to sit outside and ejoy evenings!! Is it very big? Will you have a big enough area to put a table and chairs?

Maryz.... If the little messes around my house are any indication, yes I'm back in my routine! I set up my little featherweight on the dining room table--it's kind of there to just to quick stitches on something--like little bibs for a baby shower. There's yarn on the couch for knitting baby hats, and my flamingos are put together and laid out on the floor! Various pieces of fabric are on the cutting table in the kitchen---just because I haven't put away fabric that I bought the other day nor the stuff I've dragged in from the garage!!! Always so good to hear that you slept through the night!!! The new med is helping?

Valerie.... Sorry to hear you DBIL is still having such a hard time! I had to google how far it is from Vegas to home,... farther than I thought, so you just can't run home and pick up your sewing machine!!

Jana... I'm with you... I don't decorate for Halloween specifically--I'm just not a fan---Now fall decor--that's a whole other thing. I was ok with Halloween when my kids were little, but after a few years of having to get up and down all evening handing out candy --- I was done!!!

Chriss..... I don't know what I'm more excited for---your follow up with the surgeon or having Lowes come measure for new counter tops!!! Did your dad find little projects to do around the house? You do know he's just coming to check up on you!!! Enjoy every minute of his company!!

SO yesterday I did start quilting the baby quilt--and last evening I had to sit and rip it all out!! I forgot to check the tension and tho thankfully I hadn't don too much.... it was all eyelashes. You can imagine the mess the threads by my couch!! Luckily it all came out pretty easy. Don't think I'll get back to quilting it today. I'm about ready to jump in the shower to get ready to go to a bridal shower for my niece Erin. Luckily it's at my Sister's step-daughter's house which just happens to be about 2 miles down the road.

Better get going, need more coffee!!
Wishing you all the very best today. With prayers all around---for each of us and for our country as well.

Good morning. Look outside, it's just a beautiful day. I love sitting here in the morning with my coffe and watching the sun come up. It's just so nice.

The parents never showed up yesterday, but dad called and said he'd be here today. I asked him to bring me a pizza and he said yes. wooohoooo, today is pizza day. I think I will celebrate by having pancakes for breakfast.

Lois, what color will you paint your walls?

Judi, I am behaving, I promise. So glad you are sleeping well, quiet and calm is so nice.

Flo, how old is your little charge? I bet she had fun making meatballs.

Maryz, So glad the chiro helped. Nice to sleep soundly. I think chili cheese dogs would be a great dinner.

Valerie, hope the cleaning turns out to be a smaller job than it looks. You have your work cut out for you.

Jana, I also don't like big gawdy decorations. hope you hhave a nice ride today

Maryq, Enjoy the bridal shower. We are also warming up this next week, thankfully under 100, barely.

Lori, are you cleaning your own cupboards or the parents? Either way things do seem to accumulate. I've gone through my kitchen and could easily do it again, so much stuff I just don't use.

Ok, time to get dressed, have some breakfast and go on my trek down the driveway. Not much to do today, I wish I could sweep the patio but not yet.

You all have a fabulous day

I will happily trade my weather for MaryQ's. We may not reach 60° today and will have rain and maybe a nasty thunderstorm this afternoon.

TinaB, I have carried the little 4 patch with cross in the little pocket of my jeans every day since you sent it many years ago when my Mom passed. Thank you 💕

MaryZ, I see weekends differently than you. Weekends means there's no appointments to run to, which are always down the Mtn. I'm glad you're sleeping better.

Valerie, It has to be so frustrating knowing that your BIL needs to be in the hospital and they won't admit him. Don't overdo on cleaning, we don't want you hurting yourself.

Someone asked if we were ready to travel again. I'm hoping Transwest takes their time on the floor repair. I would like to stay until about October 15th before heading home to Texas.

To everyone else, your days sound busy. I hope something makes you smile and appreciate life.

Yesterday we did get down the Mtn on time. Had a nice lunch with Larry and Mary, then went to see the house they bought and are remodel and expanding. The house is a ranch with walkout basement, backing to a reservoir. They have big plans for it, including 2 huge garages, one in front and the other in back. Larry has several toys and you can't leave things, like a boat or utility trailer left outside. The HOA is strict, but all properties look very nice because of it. Larry has a 40 acre farm and at 80 it's just becoming to much to deal with, even with the full time help of a man that's worked for him for years. Once the new house is done they will put the farm up for sale.

I have a kitchen to clean first. Dishes are in the dishwasher but I don't run it when I'm gone and there's some pots that have to be hand washed. I will start a load of laundry, then head for the sewing room and work on my sister's quilt.

Prayers for our Country and for your needs.
Lyn
