Today I babysit and maybe bake cookies. I was out of butter and yesterday we hit Sam's Club.
DS1 doing great will go back to work soon.
Thank you for the prayers and love.

Good morning,

I will never forget this day prayers go out to this country.
Well yesterday was an interesting day I went to the chiropractor everything was fine infact the whole day was great until the mail came no part so I called grace company for the third time I was so upset that I threatened to pack up everything and send it all back at first I don't think this tech could give me a straight answer I could tell because he wasn't very good at lying because he told me it was on back order then when I threatened to send my machine back he said oh o see in the computer we just now got those in so when I was done with this call I wrote grace company and email and low and behold the part will be here Friday by FedEx.

Now I measured my brilliant snowflake block and it's only 16 x16 instead of 16 1/2 x 16/12 so I guess I will do it over.

So today after we clean the house I will recut the block and see what happens.
Have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning, everyone!

What a sad day yesterday was. I think our country lost a rising shining star. I admit I never even heard of Charlie Kirk, but from all I've heard from so many different quarters, he was inspiring to many and provoked people into asking questions and actually THINKING. He was one day younger than our grandson, Drew, which struck a chord with us.

FLO - no, we can never forget - all the lives lost and the lives changed forever. God bless them all. Glad to hear your son is doing well.

VAL - sorry you are cutting your trip short, but I imagine you were prepared to do this. your DBIL is lucky to have your support. Praying he can get the care he needs as soon as possible. Loved the pix of you and Mary!

CHRISS - After going through something like you've been through, it feels so good to be able to do little things that were part of your normal pre-surgery life - washing dishes, folding clothes, walking to your mailbox. Meeting those small challenges is as big a part of healing as the physical part. I love reading your posts and seeing you getting better and better. I was glad to see though that you resisted driving. A concern would be if you were in an accident and thrown against the steering wheel. That would NOT be good! Please give it a few more weeks. And speaking of medical bills, always insist on a ITEMIZED statement before you pay any of them. I used to work insurance and you wouldn't believe the things they "accidentally" slip in there for services, supplies, and even rooms never used.

LORI - other than chatting with all y'all, and checking things like My Chart, I am not tempted to sit in front of the computer. I don't play the games and I'm not much of a Facebook person. But put me in front of a sewing machine, and I stick to it like glue! Normally. Quilting is the rabbit hole I live in.

LOIS - I've heard of a lot of things that we "women of a certain age" are prone to but a swollen ankle without a reason is a new one on me. Did he tell you why?? What is causing it?? And way to be the squeaky wheel! Next time I'm fighting with a company I'm going to sic your bada$$ self on them for me! Good work! So, is this snowflake you are doing that turned out a shade small - Would it be possible to just put a narrow frame around it rather than rebuild the entire thing? I'd had the same thing happen to me.

MARY Q - thanks for the photos! Did you get to play with your "flamboyance" yesterday? That is what a group of flamingoes is called. They are such a special creature. But yours - and Lois's - are extra special, filled with fun and attitude! Good advice to Chriss (or anyone!) to not be too hasty paying those medical bills. Let things sift out first - and examine every single charge.

JUDI - Watching the freighter must have been pretty cool. I wonder if it stays on the lake or goes out the Waterway . . . . I love that your Ken will turn off to see something interesting. Bill thinks he wants to "enjoy the trip" but the reality is when he is on the road he's focused on driving until he reaches that day's destination - unless I say I want to stop someplace or explore a different route. It doesn't occur to him to see the sights along the way. My parents-in-law had a beach house on Hood Canal and my DMIL, Frannie, walked the beach and saved little rocks she thought were pretty, She kept them in a glass dish. I still have the rocks and I spread them all around our firepit. They had a firepit on the bulkhead and we spent a lot of happy hours with them around that fire so it seemed an appropriate place for them.

JANA - I say go for the deck decorations! Even if it's just pretty lights and silk poinsettia stems stuck into your planters. But a lit up snowman would be nice, too, wouldn't it? Our Costco has a really cute blow-up scene of Bluey, Bingo, and family, but I suspect all your little people are past the Bluey stage.

TINA B - What a sweet surprise in my mailbox yesterday! Thank you for the little pocket prayer quilt with the tiny cross hidden inside. And the handmade card and beautiful note. I hope you know how much this effort on your part means to those who receive them. Thank you, thank you!

LYN - how are things going on the mountain? Hopefully you are just enjoying the beautiful setting that is Estes Park, seeing friends, and sewing a little - and having no more crises to deal with!

Yesterday was mostly about my dr appt. She adjusted meds - added my BP med back, plus a different muscle relaxer. And she gave me the referrals to the back and hip doctors that I would prefer to see. The rest of the day was spent at the pharmacy (twice!), and resting on a heating pad. Bill set me to sorting, deleting pictures from the computer and also from my phone. I had about 4,500. I'm down to just 3,200 now. Today is PT again. Also my shortened walk, and some exercises. And I might sew a bit on the long trees on my Vintage Christmas. It will be a full day. I'm learning to nap, too. :D

Prayers to all of you - to Charlie Kirk's wife, children, and parents - and to the thousands affected by 911.

Mary z I think my ankle is the results from when I broke my right ankle 12 years ago and the left one sort of leans toward the right due to flat feet so I will be good use the cream and wear the brace and if it doesn't work out I will last resort see an orthopedic.

The snow flake block for the snowman quilt I will redo it and see what happens I looked to see if there was an error but couldn't find anything .

Good morning!

Bright and sunny here this morning. Many prayers for all those impacted by the tragic events of yesterday and 9/11 those many years ago. We need to pray continually for our nation and step up and put those prayers in action and do something . Today, here, are many opportunities for service in remembrance of 9/11. We should find way to serve, in our own sphere, even just smile and open a door for someone, even a thank you. Learn to give service and accept service given to us.. Yesterday's actions subjected more than 3000 people, as eyewitnesses, to the horror of conflict and war, that have changed and affected their lives forever. All because of one person, who disagreed with another's right of free speech.

Mr G has been abducted by aliens! Who they left in his place, is not Mr G! This Mr G, aka, Scrooge, has suggested a few ideas for Christmas decorations on the deck. He suggested another tree for out and some big lighted packages. He wants to go to a store here and look at what they have. We'll check out Lowe's and home depot too. Costco didn't have much out yet, so we'll keep checking. Bluey is still a big deal with my grands, all of them! And the other favorite is Phineas and Ferb. What is else is nice about decorating the deck, is that it's partially protected from wind, which Herriman has!

My pest control company will be by this afternoon. I'll be in the Batt Cave, printing my JA instructions. There's 40 pages, but my printer is capable of printing double sided. That's what I'll do. And finish labeling the fabrics. And catch up with the JA bom sewing. That is, unless Mr G wants to go off and do something.

Hugs, prayers, and go do something!

Jana

I'm back from my walk. Made it further today! Yay me! Now to rest a bit.

LOIS - that makes a lot of sense. I remember when you broke that ankle. But I hadn't given it thought when considering your swollen ankle of today. I hope it resolves itself and you are able to wear comfortable shoes. My snowman is packed away right now. I can't remember exactly how all the parts and pieces go. My next visit to my sewing room, I will pull out my pattern and refresh myself. It was such a fun project and made a beautiful quilt. I displayed it in Autumn's quilt show last winter and it was a big hit with the library patrons.

JANA - Whoever Mr. G is today, I'd run with it!! And make sure you get him to sign a release form just in case he forgets that he gave his stamp of approval and even offered ideas! You can't be too careful when dealing with husbands!

I need to find some breakfast now and then I'm off to PT. We also need to go grocery shopping. And Costco if I can spell able, but that may have to wait until tomorrow. Or Bill go by himself. As I'm sitting more now, I'm checking in here more often. Hope not to be a pest!

A sunny day on the Mtn, possibly afternoon showers which are usual.

Judi, Ken looking up freighter by name reminded me of something Garry would do. We'd be waiting for the ferry or we'd be on the jetty at Port Aransas and see a ship coming or going. Garry would up and say, "There's that same ship we always see, see the name 'NO SMOKING' written on the side!"

MaryZ or anyone else who hasn't listened to Charlie Kirk speak, I encourage you to look on YouTube. I heard a young man try to make Charlie look bad because Charlie had dropped out of junior college. Charlie answered that he was busy starting Turning Point, but that he had a goal to read at least 100 books a year. And I'm sure they weren't cowboy fiction, because as I have listened to him he had a wealth of knowledge on any subject a person threw out to discuss. He was a good man getting young people to think about what is true and what isn't.

Yesterday I finished turning the edges on 3 scarfs for Kaylyn. It reminded me why I don't like sewing polyester. Minnie has been sick and I took her to the Vet on Tuesday afternoon. The Vet up here is getting out of my price range. The x-ray didn't show a problem, but is hard to read, she said. Our original Vet, Dr Jeff, has sold his practice to a lady that's worked there for years, but I'm not a fan of hers. She missed a broken ankle on our black lab years ago. She's the one I had to see on Tuesday. Anyway I'm happy to report that Minnie is better, especially after passing 4 pieces of nuts the size of the end of my little finger. Someone in the house is now band from eating nuts on the couch.

The parts are in to fix the floor heat, so I'm going down the Mtn this morning to make sure the tile is correct. I hope they take their time getting it in the shop, so I don't have to figure out storage.

Prayers for all, 9/11, Charlie Kirk's family and students and families at Evergreen high school where there was a shooting yesterday.

Good Morning Girls

Though perhaps not a great morning. So much sadness today as we each remember where we were in 2001---on this fateful day. And to see a young man, with strong faith and ideas be taken in such a violent way. Somedays I really worry for our country and for the future of our children and grandchildren.

Flo... Great to hear your son is doing well! Will he still be driving or did they find a spot for him as a dispatcher? I'm one of those drivers, that when I see a big rig on the road... I let them in and give them all the room they need!!!

Lois.... Don't you wonder about some big companies these days....they will do just about anything to avoid actually doing the CUSTOMER service!!! I lost my patience on the phone with the dishwasher company--and it didn't get me any where!!! I gave up!

Judi... That's what vacations are for.... to taste and enjoy sorts of new things that you don't normally have at home---that's my theory anyway--and my excuse for gaining a few pounds when I'm away from home.

Maryz... Yup, I played with my Flamboyance!!! Got some stitching done on them while the embroidery machine churned out other little projects! Hope that you will see some good results from your new medication--but sorry you had to make 2 trips to the pharmacy. Oh gosh, deleting photos from cell phone and computer----does not sound like a fun task!!

Jana.... I think you are so right.... tragedies like 9-11 and the death of Charlie Kirk, should motive us---all Americans to serve mankind in even small ways---open the door for someone, share a smile etc. I think that's how Charlie would like to be honored---for the rest of us to do GOOD!!

Lyn... I've probably seen that "episode" with Charlie where the young person challenged his intelligence because he didn't go to college. Not all education comes from college classes! I always enjoyed watching Charlie go toe-to-toe with others and show just how incredibly smart he was. My heart breaks for his family.

Oh gosh, it's almost 11am and I'm needing to put on my public face and go get groceries---I'm stalling as I really really really don't want to, but alas the fridge is pretty empty--so salad fixings, no veggies and not much in the way of anything to make a meal out of!!! SO I better sign off and get going. The sooner I get this over with the sooner I can get back to my sewing machine!

May God bless you all today and hold you in the palm of His hand.

PRAYERS FOR THE FIRST RESPONERS WHO CHOOSE TO ENTER HELL TO SAVE THOSE IN THE BUILDINGS!!!
The years don't lessen the pain and loss of so many innocent people.
