Morning
Yesterday I did not pull weeds, went to grocery store-walmart all I have close by. I did buy a pattern fir a toddler girls dress and shorts to make my Friday buddy some new threads.
Jam Making went good, added to much chocolate. I need to buy half pint jars though. Recipe only made 2 pint, jars too big, so DDIL & I each donated some from our jars so DS1 can take jar out on road with him when he gets home.
Today is babysit day. Need to scoot.

Good morning,

FLO - I have to say at first thought, strawberry chocolate jam sounded pretty weird, but then, when I thought about it, strawberries covered in chocolate are pretty tasty and considered romantic tidbits so maybe not so weird after all! Nice of you to make a new outfit for your little charge.

JUDI - oh dear! Your night wasn't so romantic! But, a little bit funny, no? I wonder what the owners will say about the bed. Hard to believe your vacation is already over. Have a safe drive home!

LORI - what is a hulahoe? I know about fabric ho's, thread ho's, and regular ho's, but never heard of a hulahoe. I do have a long-handled garden implement that kind of looks like a stirrup. . . We sort of rescued it out of Vicki's garage before the house was demolished.

LYN - sounds like you dodged a choppy afternoon in the boat. Sorry you didn't get to fish, but then you got some Lyn Time. Scottie also is big on picking up his pee mail when we walk every morning. And of course, he has messages he has to leave.

CHRISS - the little chair will be sweet once you get it painted. Will you use a primer first or just paint? Re-doing furniture isn't in my wheelhouse at all. Sorry dinner wasn't up to par. Just depends on the cook of the day I suppose.

JANA - how are you feeling today? Do you go back for a recheck?

VAL - is the KT Vintage Christmas the sampler quilt? It's lovely!

MARY Q - nice that you had some time with just Eli! Were there any treasures you couldn't leave behind when you were out yesterday? And where was your secret ride to??

Yesterday our guests were out all day. They are the purrfect guests - they go do their own thing most of the day. They brought us a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the Farmers Market, we visited for an hour, then they went for naps. We met again to go out to Mexican restaurant for dinner. So during the day I played around with baby clothes. I think I have just one more large 'block' to make, then I'll fuse stablilizer to the all the scraps, and cut them into pieces to use for sashing or anywhere I need to put them to make all the odd sized blocks fit together. By jove, I think I've done it!!

This morning, my dental hygienist is coming by at 8am. He does yard work on the side, trying to earn extra money for a down payment on a house, and today is the day he is available. Not sure what all I'm going to have him do, but this is his first available day since we talked about it in May so I plan to make good use of him. He is 27 (younger than my grandsons), and while he's cleaning my teeth talks a lot about his girlfriend and his mom, who is an avid quilter and tells me about her projects she's working on.

Tonite is our big potluck BBQ around the campfire. We do this about once a year and it's always fun and I love seeing all our friends, but I also always look forward to it being over. I hope that doesn't make me sound like a bad hostess, but in the words of that well-known old salt, "I yam what I yam"! We have one other couple who will be spending the night in their trailer in our front yard so tomorrow morning we'll be cooking bacon and french toast for the 6 of us before they are all on their way home.

Have a Fantastic Friday!

Good morning!

I'm doing better today. Saw my face and I am quite bruised. My healing teeth will go in this morning. I had to do full Arches, top and bottom. The surgeon did some bone grafts too. Advil and Tylenol are my friends! The pain really wasn't too bad. Just a ache now, like your jaw is tired. I'm finally a bit hungry too, eating a bit of jello.

Do fun stuff!

Hugs,
Jana

Judi, bummer about the bed. Good thing it was the last night.

Maryz, yes, that's the hulahoe. It's a fabulous tool. Glad you made some progress on the quilt. I too am that way about some guests.

Jana, glad you are feeling better. I bet your jaw will be sore for awhile.

I got a message from Etsy saying they are refunding me for the pattern since there is one in the kit. So total for a Queen size quilt kit was only $285. That's A great deal. Need to finish up some projects so I can start a new one.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning. It's going to be a great day today.

I have a few odd jobs around here and I need to start sanding a bit on my little chair. The chair has a metal plate on the back. Dad says it was used to shape the wood into a curve. I'd like to do a stencil kind of a thing on it. I figure the chair was made in about 1911. My grandma was born in 1910 and there is a picture of her about one year old standing next to it.

Maryq, sure wish I were going to that thrift store with you. boy it sounds like lots of fun. Yay for the clarinet concert, it's good to be you.

Judi, bet that was a shock when the bed broke. safe travels home.

Maryz, I have no clue how to refinish the chair. I took it to my dad's yesterday and he told me how to sand it, when it's paint time I will enlist his advice again. Funny how when I was a teen my parents knew nothing and now they are quite wise.

Jana, glad you aren't in as much pain. Jello just doesn't fill a belly does it? I wonder about something like cream of wheat?

Lori, who's the stealth ninja now? Great bargain on that quilt kit, and it's prompting you to get some old projects done. win, win.

Dinner will be whatever is in the fridge. I have to use up some celery so maybe a tuna salad is in order. Hope you all have a super cool day

Cloudy, storms coming thru all day, maybe tomorrow too.

Flo, I bet your jam is good on toast. Hope the shingles for the roof come soon.

Chriss, I hope chair painting goes well. Elliot will love it. I remember when Stacey, at a year old, sat in a little rocking chair my sister had given her. Stacey's eyes lit up and a big smile. Thanks for reminding me of a great memory.

Judi, What a bummer to have the bed break. Hope y'all get home early so you can take a nap.

MaryZ, I totally understand how you feel about your party. Hope you have good weather today.

Lois, Is the butterfly about done?

Jana, I'm glad you're not in a lot of pain. Garry had to have some cadaver bone graft and asked the Dr after, what brand was it?

Valerie, The KT Vintage Christmas quilt looks real tempting. I'm glad I'm in Canada and don't get mail here.

Lori, Maybe you and Valerie should work on that quilt at the same time, to encourage each other.

MaryQ, Was the outing to a QS?

I will finish stitching out a label today and get them in the mail. I made 2 labels for each of friend, Carol's, quilts. That way there's a spare in case she has a boo boo. I'm sending the thread, too, in case she wants to turn the edges and do a fancy stitch around before sewing them on by hand. I have some phone calls to make then, I'm not sure what I will play with. Dinner will probably be a pork tenderloin in the Ninja.

Hope everyone has a sew good day.
Lyn

Chriss, You slipped in. Have you looked up Vintage Decals for children furniture? It would be neat to get a picture of Elliot next to the chair and put the photos in a double frame.

Good morning girls

A quick hello, as I am typing on my IPad! Every one is still sleeping. We have been staying up way too late without the sun it setting here until almost midnight!

Found a couple cool things at the thrift store. There was a little nook of craft supplies- found a few odd
Zippers I can use for pencil case and some baby yarn I don’t NEED  . But get this…. Tomorrow there are having a huge FABRIC sale …. Supposedly “ the good stuff” for $2.00/yd! So you were have to go back!

The plan for today was to drive up to Talkeetna, but we may reschedule that for Sunday. If we stay home we might just hang around the house. Jen working on several projects in their work shop. They do customer framing . Whe I get home I’ll share pictures of her artwork and the frames she makes.

Hope you are all doing well. Miss you all!
