Good morning,
It's been a weekend here Bill fell out of bed we went to the care station Dr on duty gave him something for pain but he had a reaction to it some how he caught his foot on the side board of the bed we have to put a call into our Dr.
So that's been my weekend.
Also I did some sewing on my snowman I have the 1 big snowflake left the I can start mittens and arm blocks it's coming along.
I already went to the store so that's done I just have to have him put a call in to the Drs and see if he can prescribe something else.
Flo prayers to you and your hubby.
Have a fun day
Prayers to all.
Lois

Re: Monday June 30,2025
Good morning,
It's a beautiful day so far, sitting out on the deck, listening to the chickens, the birds, and someone's barking sheltie.
FLO - praying your storm doesn't happen! Have you got tarps?
JUDI - I pulled about forty-eleven million 4" maple trees in my front yard yesterday and thought of you. Ugh. The squirrels would rather dig in my begonias than eat the little helicopter seeds. They aren't doing their job! Are your peaches ripening? Do you ever can them or just freeze them? I wouldn't mind if you sent a bowl of that cobbler my way . . . Are you still planning a trip to the UP? Will you want a hand project to take along? Maybe that CW quilt will get even bigger!
JANA - loved your roster of stars! That is quite a crowd and I'm pleased to say I can remember when most of them were born! Exciting to think of the new one - boy or girl - and what the name might be.
CHRISS - wouldn't it be cool if all your little oak trees sprouted you up a shady grove of oaks. Everyone would be happy! You, Moose, me, the squirrels. Are you getting ready for your and Eleanor's birthdays on Thursday?? Or will you celebrate with Elliott on the Fourth? You are still going there for the Fourth, right? I haven't crocheted in a long time either. And I never learned the fancy stuff - just basic Single, double, triple and some halves, I think. I still have all the hooks. My vision isn't so hotsy totsy any more so I should be doing crochet instead of cross stitch, probably. I do still have a few thread snowflakes I crocheted years ago.
VAL - I think I have forgotten who the baby quilt is for? Do all your projects have to be done before you leave on your trip or are you just like me - don't like to leave anything unfinished when you go away?
LYN - your house sounds nice. You said it is bi-level. Is that the same as a split level where you enter on the landing and go half story up or half story down? Ours is a split with our bedroom/bath and family room on the lower level and going out to the garage from there. Upstairs is living/dining/kitchen/bath and 3 bedrooms that we use as office, sewing, quilting. 2,000 sq feet on 2-1/2 acres.
MQ - so far I really like my new T-fal iron. Size XL. I never knew irons to come in sizes before! It's a pretty turquoise and kind of looks like a space rocket. But glides very smoothly when it's hot. But I haven't used it too much yet. I hope your cleaning efforts hold until you leave (and come back!) from AK. I like to vacuum my way out of the house when we leave. Though as soon as we get home we trash it pretty quickly when we start unpacking.
LOIS - Oh no! So sorry to hear Bill fell out of bed. My DB, Jim, who had Parkinson's, had hallucinations from his meds, got tangled in the blankets and he also fell out of bed and broke his neck. He was in bad shape for months. I pray your Bill is OK. Glad to hear you're back to your snowman. He's a fun project, made in sections.
Yesterday, we both worked to clean the house and then I spent 1.5 hours on gardening. I have maybe another 5 hours of yard work left to do to finish the entire yard - or as much as I do anymore. I just have to divide it up into 3 or 4 days. I also finally settled on a block for the Christmas swap - Santa - and made a sample which turned out great. My plan is to make the rest of my swap blocks this morning after my chiropractor appt. They will go quickly. And if I'm still in a sewing mood this afternoon I think I will start quilting Drew's 6 LOTR placemats. I have my red/white Ohio Star laid out over the quilting frame in hopes Bill will get inspired to get it loaded, but he got a new Starlink gadget for the trailer (his birthday present) and he's been immersed in running wires through the trailer for that. He says he's having fun - like I do making a quilt. Not sure how many days his fun will take. But all my projects - and his, too - need to be finished before we leave in Sept.
My sister is having surgery this morning on her foot. In about 3 hours from now. My sis has had more broken bones than any person I know. This latest fracture is same place as a previous one. She is 82 years old but doesn't act like it. But this is going to slow her roll some. And maybe Al's roll, too, as he stays home from work to take care of her for a few days or weeks. And yes, Al, age 87, still works.
Well, that's all I've got from here - time to go get dressed for my morning walk with Lori Across the Road, then shower, chiro, and start sewing. We should be 85* this afternoon so I may be spending my afternoon hanging out on the deck, shade curtains pulled, reading a book. My sewing room window faces afternoon sun.
Make your day a good one!

Good morning!
We'll be hot again. Nice being about higher than the valley floor, that helps us stay cooler by a few degrees. My house is very close to the mile high elevation designation, just a couple of feet shy. The higher you go, the cooler it is. When you're in a desert, you find all kinds of things to stay cool!
Jim left and is across the valley at his brother's now. He's eye second opinion Dr visit is today. It was so fun listening to my boys with him yesterday. Jim is a specialist in concrete overlays and work. When my boys were teenagers, they worked summers for him and learned so much.
My Emma is off to girls camp today, with her cousin. Then next Monday, will leave with same cousin and that family for a 2 week family reunion in Canada. It's Crenda's side and she really wanted to go to, but with all the other boys activities, couldn't.
So I have tons of uglies, - dishes, laundry floors, too many for my brain! Glad I have a big family, that way I could skip a day doing the dishes and not run out! I have a lot of plates. Laundry - choice of clothes is getting skimpy, too
Today, Daniel is going to get a new kitten, maybe two. They found one, who's adorable and put iin a request to adopt her. Kitten is currently named Bambino, which suggests kitten is a boy, but it's a girl. Someone doesn't speak a foreign language, knowing the ending for a girl! Should be bambina. But Karlie will probably change that, she names everything! She's a very pretty little kitty, tan and white stripes. Blue eyes.
So that's the fun here today,
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning it’s a warm day. We have a thunderstorm this morning and we’re expecting another one anytime now. I’m headed off to the grocery store to pick up a few groceries and this afternoon at four. I have a hair appointment. It’s always something around here yesterday. I did get a few maple trees pulled, but not as many as Mary Z thinks I did. I have a bazillion left like I said if I could find a place to transplant these there’d be a nice maple forest in 50 or 60 years. Hope everyone is having a good day.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Jana, how fun for Karlie to get a kitten. It will be her new best friend.
Maryz, you've been busy. I went through books looking for a Christmas block but haven't decided on one yet.
Lois, I hope Bill is okay.
Flo, sure hope the rain holds off for you.
I worked on the Christmas quilt binding yesterday. I hope to finish it up today and get a label on it. I need to get dressed and take Jack for a walk before it warms up. Should be about 87 today.

Good Morning Girls
So hope my early morning isn't a preview of the rest of the day!! I forgot to put the coffee pot IN the coffee maker last night, even tho it had the water, the grounds and was set to start at 0745! I woke up to coffee EVERYWHERE!! I did need to wash the kitchen floor, but hadn't planned on doing it at 8am!
Flo.... As much as we need rain.... I'm with you.. I've had enough for a while. I so hope you have some dry days so you can get your roof done! When is the crew supposed to come in? So sorry to hear you have another project to do now with stained ceilings! I wonder if that repair would be covered by insurance?
Lois.... Oh your poor Bill... I've heard of folks falling out of bed!! I hope the Dr can find something that helps with the pain. Falling probably doesn't help his back much! Your butterfly quit is beautiful. I'm glad you posted it on Facebook!
Maryz.... No chickens here but I sure can hear the birds singing this morning---they usually start about 0500! St. Michael doesn't allow home chickens at all! Lots of folks wanted to get chickens when the price of eggs went so high, but Nope! My plane leaves on Tuesday so I'm going to clean next Monday!!, and like you, probably vacuum as I walk out the door. The way it looks now I won't have to do much to clean out the fridge--it's pretty empty as it is. Hope your Sis does ok with surgery this morning, ---with all her broken bones, I'm guessing they have checked her for osteoporosis? (another test I'm supposed to go have) Holy Moly---it's going to get hot there!! I have pay a 2nd trip charge because it's a different company. Had to call an "LG authorized" company so that there is no hassle to get the right part! I'm not going to deal with it until I get back from AK. Heck, I may just leave it and use the DW for storage! I bet I can hide a lot of fabric in it!
Jana... Thanks for the roster of your family! This time I wrote it down--so I can know who you are talking about! I kind of remember when Ethan was born!!! Bambino sounds like an Italian name, but for a girl, yup, I think it's BambinA. Viv's cat is Choupette---which apparently is french for Sweetheart. Not being a cat person, I'd be no helping naming one. Though I did want a dog named Murphy! The kids dog is Zara---I get to baby sit her when the Shawn & Kris take Bren and Evie to college in August.
Judi... How are your peaches doing? I did look up Peach Truck, but they don't come up here at all! I might get brave and just try one or two from the grocery store.
Chriss... Your squirrels dig holes and hide in them? Up here squirrels are all in the trees and jump around from one to another. And they do love to eat all the food out of a bird feeder! I love to rescue old sewing machines and saw one at Goodwill the other day---so tempting! I could kick my brother for THROWING AWAY my Grandmother's Singer! I do have the cabinet it came in tho---it's home to my embroidery machine.
Lori.... Me too... looking through Christmas patterns! Now I just have to dig out some Christmas fabric! I did a few log cabin type blocks yesterday, but am thinking I might explore other options as well.
Ok, so when you guys go on a trip, how far ahead of time do you start packing? My suitcase was in Shawn's garage so he brought that over yesterday--needs a little shine up of course. I've already set some stuff aside--so I don't have to wash it again! I tend to over pack, but don't really need to take a lot as Jen does have a washer/dryer! I'm thinking I'll do laundry one more time this week and then start packing! Can you tell I'm getting excited!!
Guess I better go get something done... need to run to PO and a stop by the grocery store for a couple things to tide me over until I go!!
Keep Cool!!

Rainy and windy today.
Flo, prayers the storms miss you and y'all can get the shingles on soon.
Jana, Thanks for the family run down. Hope the pregnancy goes well.
MaryQ, When we did the road trip last year in the Jeep, I started a list a week before. I had it all packed a day before and our toiletries the day we left.
Lois, I hope Bill's OK.
MaryZ, A bi-level or split level are the same thing. Different parts of the country use a different word, I learned when I was a Realtor, for the same construction.
Since it's my day, I'm setting up the machine and playing. We may go out to eat.
Hope you can play too.
Lyn

Re: Monday June 30,2025
Good morning, it's going to be a marvelous day today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYN!!!
The parents will be here and so will a contractor at about 11am. We will be discussing kitchen counters, removing a wall oven and probably moving a cabinet in it's place and extending the counter top. I think we have it figured out, just need to see if we can make it work. It's kind of like one of those puzzles where you move the 9 tiles around until they are in order.
Flo, hope the roof works out.
Lois, what a wild weekend, hope that DH is back to his old self soon
Maryz, yep, it would be great if those oak trees grew up big and strong, I won't see it happen but maybe in a few generations they will see it. I so wish I could come get some of those maple trees you have, I would love to have them all over here
Jana, I also have a few chores to do so that I can gget started with my day. I bet that kitty will be very loved.
Judi, Here, bring those trees here, we will transplant them here. I get hard peaches at the fruitstand and let them soften on the counter too.
Lori, it's 10am here and already 83 degrees, hope you and Jack beat the heat.
Maryq, yep, the squirresl dig holes and live where it's cool. They don't come out in this heat. I've seen them climb trees to eat the fruit or the leaves, but mostly they eat weeds or whatever they find on the ground. If I ever go on a trip I will let you know when I start packing.
Time to move my butt. you all have a fab day.
