OT - My morning walk

Post by WeSignificant » Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:53 am

Have decided to try and go back to walking and see if I can improve my health that way. I walked yesterday 1.75 miles and 1.5 today. I am going out to what we refer to as the eucalyptus grove. But it's really the wetlands area in American Canyon. It's a pretty popular place, so there's always other people around me and I feel pretty safe there. Here are some pictures from today's walk.

This is a Hummingbird. They are pretty abundant out there

One of two swans. I don't think i've ever seen more than two swans at a time.

Wasn't sure what this was to begin with, but turned out to be a vulture. As I got a little closer, it must have sensed me there and turned its head.

Male and female I think Mallard ducks.

I haven't seen any babies the last couple of days.So maybe it's a little too early for that yet. There's quite a large bird population of I don't know how many different birds, and of course you have the mice, the rats, rabbits and i'm not sure what else. It's normally a quiet, peaceful place, and they have plenty of benches where you can sit down and rest.Or just watched the wildlife.

Always nice to walk in such a safe and beautiful place. Funny thing about vultures, I was always told when they start circling it was time to move your body so they would know you are alive.

I didn't know there were swans here, very cool.

Usually you can see almost to SF from here. Not today. But love the fog and clouds
