Good Morning I should be in Seattle cause i have been sleepless..It will all be better in a week or so...I had a good conversation with the surgeon he went over everything,,answered my questions,,,,even came back in the room when I had another question after he left...I have confidence in him and his ability, but am still nervous...He did say I should take my wedding band off.
I did find some New York beauty patterns I like but I have another quilt in my winter project bag first so it is on the "pile".
Today I will wander around the house cleaning up and dusting things,,I am going to remove all the potted plants from the porch this weekend..I didnt get any mums this year since I wont be here to enjoy them much..I will also miss Applefest as I will be in rehab that weekend. the geraniums will go I donr have the energy or the want to save them for next year,,This weekend also will try to get Ken to move the furniture in the basement to clean behind it and under it...then most of the house will be ready for me to come home to...
In the mean time I have 2 pair of knit pull on pants to hem for my stay...I ordered petite but they were out and sent reg so I will get that done today,,,
When Ken gets home today he will take me to the grocery store and I will do the grocery shopping for probably the last foe a few weeks. hope you are all doing well..Have a wonderful day,,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning!

Chilly and rainy today. Our high will be about 62. Time to find my sweater and look to find my jacket, winter will be here soon. I need a new winter parka. The one I have is big enough for two people at the same time! I can hear the rain falling outside right now.

I posted a update on Jonah late yesterday. He's home and getting better.

Andrew learned how to drive the little truck. Matt said he's rough around the edges, but will get better. Matt did what Mr G did in teaching how to handle a stick, took Andrew out on a hilly road, stopped halfway up the hill, and then told Andrew, it's his turn! Works!

Mr G starts some physical therapy this morning. What they call, total body. Hope it helps. We have used this physical therapist before and he's really good. The office is here, close, which is a good thing.

So after that hour out and about, I'll sew. I got the main floor straightened and so it should stay that way! Sarah and I went to Costco and I got the sheets and blankets for the trundle bed. It is all made, really for a little when needed. Also Christmas jumped in the basket. A cute set of Santas. There's another cute set of ornaments, but Mr G would have a cow if i bought them. I would have to file the dreaded EIR. We'll see...... Sarah wondered if I had any more horizontal spaces left too. She wasn't helpful either!

Chriss - I Google- piglet from Winnie the pooh costume- and the search came back with a baby costume, in a size 0-6 months at a shop named Spencer's, for 37.00. Me, I thought that was a bit pricey for a one time use. But any Halloween costume is to me, just isn't something I do or did with my kids. They didn't go out collecting candy. Now, the littles here do, and I do pass out goodies.

Well, time to get the day started, so I can get home where it's more fun!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning!

Just a drive-by today - I forgot we moved Bible study to today so my brain is not happy.

Lois - glad you had such a lovely visit.

Judi - so glad your surgeon spent time answering your questions.

Jana - yay that Jonah is doing well.

After I get back, I'll be out in the sewing hole sewing like a crazy woman to get this tote done. I have made every mistake known to man, sometimes twice. We will be having leftover meatloaf that I put in-between some old crecent rolls I found in the back of the fridge. Have a glorious day! xoxo Sharona

Good Morning Girls

ANOTHER Hot day!!! I'm getting really tired of sweating all day!

Lois... I'm kind of googling the Gracie frame etc to see what they look like. It sure looks like it would be a lot of fun. If I was still in my big house and had the space, I'd sure be tempted! Back in 2009 I was at a quilt show in Des Moines, Iowa and was "this close" to buying a sit down quilt machine. So excited and happy for you that you are able to get it!!! Hope Bill's back feels better soon!

Judi...Glad you got all your questions answered. Do you feel a little less apprehensive? I'm thinking if Ken gets hungry he can run over to Colleen's for dinner from time to time?  It's almost time to put plants away here too. Though I have seen some gorgeous Mum plants at the grocery store and been tempted.

Jana..... Glad to hear that Jonah is home and doing well. As for Andrew and the stick-shift.... it's practice, practice practice! My Niece lived in San Fransisco and drove a stick-shift car--now you wanna talk about scary!! Getting up the hills in SF???? I'm not much for Halloween either, but had fun with it when the kids were little. I just hated getting up and down to answer the door for trick n treaters when I was all by myself!  I remember when CAD first came out! My dad designed grain elevators and feed mills all on paper for years then my brother brought in computers and CAD. Dad was amazed!!! But he retired about the same time so didn't do much with it.

Sharon..... Do you ever watch Youtube videos? Search for "Christine's Home Affair" she has tons of neat tutorials for all sorts of bags and totes and explains them all really well. I've made a few of her things and they have turned out really cute. She's actually in Australia and uses metric, but also gives any measurements in inches as well. She does a lot of things repurposing fabric she's been given.... upholstery samples etc.

Tina..... You are so wise to work with Dad now to go through his stuff. After my Dad passed and we helped Mom get the house ready to sell, we had no idea what a pack-rat my Dad was. Dad passed in 2002, we found canceled checks from my Grandmother's account and she passed in 1987!! And copies of every tax return he ever filed going back to 1945!!! Each of us kids kept the return from the year we were born. I have 1957. But if your Dad can help you make some decisions and say what he would like done.... you're ahead of the game.

Chriss....Hope you are getting daily updates on that baby! I just remember being a first time mom and trying to do everything they told me I should be doing and feeling overwhelmed. It's hard to be far away and so anxious too get your hands on that little one!. They might be a little more comfortable after they can get some sleep!

I did go look at different flooring yesterday and did find some I like. It's thicker and I think will be better in the sewing room where I roll back and forth all day. Though I may still need a mat. They suggested some different wheels for my chair so I might check those out on Amazon. Problem is.. .this new stuff is a little more $$$ so I may have to do some creative accounting to switch it out! I did manage to get a little sewing done, but since it's so stinkin' hot and I'm not leaving the house I should be able to make some good progress on things I'm working on for the craft fair.

And it's shower day... so I'm off to get clean.
Have a Great Tuesday Everybody

good morning. What a beautiful day yesterday was and today will be the same. The weather is overcast and cool. It's my favorite.

Moose and I watered this morning and when I am done here I will do a few chores then start my day. Yesterday I got the spare room half cleaned out and hope to finish that up today. I might wait until prime days (Oct 6?) to order a bed for that room. I still have lots to be done but have done so much. I'm happy with the progress.

My kids could use some prayers. Between the anxiety of being new first time parents and the baby needing doctor appointments they are just frazzled and feeling inadequate.

Lori, HAH, I guess I do need to learn to tell time. hoping to "fall back" sooner than we are supposed to. At least that's the excuse I am going to use. While you have to do double duty taking care of two houses I bet it feels good to see drawers and such be not as jam packed as they once were. I am sure liking seeing the empty spaces here.

Jana, I read what you wrote yesterday. You saw Santa and not only he but a set of Santa's jumped in your cart. What does Michael think of you bringing home bearded men? tsk, tsk. Glad Jonah is home. Thanks, I saw that Piglet costume, and I agree, it's pretty pricey. I have a hot pink and a pink onesie that I ordered online, they were $4 each on clearance, coming and will add stripes and a cap with ears sewn onto it. I see it in my head, hoping I can make it come out. Halloween costumes here are too expensive as well, then you have to wear a coat because it's too cold out. makes no sense.

Lois, sounds like your yesterday was just perfect. Is the quilt you are starting the cat quilt? I did try the Disney store, they only have adult sizes. I ended up buying a pink onsie and when it gets here I will add the stripes and make some ears to attach to a cap. It will be good enough.

Judi, I'm so glad the meeting with the surgeon went well. It also feels good to have the house the way you want it so you can come back and not have to do a bunch of housework. What winter project do you have going that makes NY wait?

Sharona, I have sewing like that, where I rip more than I sew. Love meatloaf, maybe I will come have some with you.

Maryq, I do get daily updates and pictures. But I do wish I was there. I have to respect their wishes, they are over stressed and are sure they aren't doing this right. I remember being overwhelmed. Glad you found flooring. I went with cheap in my kitchen because of the cost. For just me the floor is fine but if I was rolling a chair over it constantly I'd want something better.

Guess that I had best get something done. You all have a fun day,
Chriss

Lois, how exciting for you. I wish I had room for a quilting machine. I just use my domestic machine to quilt. Sometimes it's a challenge.

Chriss, yes, I do like less stuff. I clean out closets and drawers at home and love when they have room in them. I have a dresser in the spare room that I refuse to put things in. I just keep the blankets for colder weather in there. I filled it up years ago and realized I needed to purge instead of store. How is little Elliot?
Sorry the kids are a bit frazzled. I'm sure things will settle down. They should take advantage of Grandma Chriss and have you stay with them to help out a bit. It's too bad they feel the need to do it all themselves. Raising children takes a village.

Jana, you showed great restraint yesterday. Glad to hear Jonah is doing better.

Maryq, my dad has stuff from his aunt from the 80's when she died. There's a 2 drawer file cabinet in the garage filled with paperwork. My mom like to keep files of everything. There's 5 drawers of file just in her library. Then my dad has several in his office as well. We went with ceramic tile for our floors. It lasts a long time. Our last floor lasted about 23 years.

Sharona, some sewing projects are just that way. I've done my share of mistakes and continue to do them. Hopefully you'll be happy with it when you're are done.

Judi, dresses would work as well. Sounds like you are ready.

My dad keeps calling this morning. Apparently he doesn't like the caregiver all of a sudden. I think they probably took the phone away from him and it upset him. My neighbor just called and said she saw him walking down the street. He was about 2 houses down. He can barely walk so it probably took him a long time to get there. She walked him back and called me. He hasn't left the house unattended in over a year and a half. This could be a problem.

I need to get groceries this morning. I want to get a pedicure this afternoon. It's a busy week, so I need to get things done today.

Have a lovely day.

Hello again and thanks for the warm welcome back.

Judi: Glad to hear that your feeling good about your surgeon. That is the most important part is to have confindence with him/her. I was all scheduled to have my other knee done November 26 but other health problems have gotten in the way. I think I will just get a shot in the knee for the time being.

Tina: Glad to read that your loosing the extra pounds that you have been wanting to loose.

Maryz: Your always on some wonderful outing with Bill traveling all over and making memories.

Chriss: Glad to read that your have stuck with cleaning out the garage and getting thinks put where they make your life easier.

Like I said before I was schedlule to have my 2nd. new knee put in November 26th. but when I went to my cardiologist he heard some noise that he didn't like. He had ma take an echocardiogram and they found that I have a leaky aortic valve. Then my husband needed to get clearance for hand surgery and since our cardiologist retired right after my heart findings. This new cardiologist said he could take a look at my results. My husband was quite concerned about the prior results. We ok'd him to look and he thought it was a bit worse than the first guy. He ordered a TEE test and that came back as more severe leaking and some thread/string thing at the bottom of the valve. He said if that dislodges that I could have an aneurysm. So I am scheduled for an angiogram looking at both side of the heart this Friday. She said he won't be the one doing the heart valve replacement but wants to make sure the rest of the heart is in good shape. I have had one stent put in back in 2003 when we lived in Oregon. So this is why I will have to wait on getting my other smart knee put in. Wish me luck and a pray or two would be most appreciated.

Joan
