How is everyone's summer going? July is moving right along, can't believe fall is just around the corner. I know some of you are working on Christmas blocks and planning trips so decided I should get August up and posted to give a bit more time. Moving onto something a wee bit easier this month.

This is called Potato Chip block. The directions are here:
https://abyquilts.wordpress.com/2024/04 ... hip-block/
We will be using 2.5 x 4.5 rectangles. If you want to plan where your lights and darks go, feel free. I am not going to. My thought was this could work as a crumb type block and would look great with either Black or White sashing. Black would be my first choice. But the winner can do as they wish.
Please try to not repeat a fabric in each individual block. Otherwise, anything goes, throw in one of those Christmas fabrics you all have out, a batik here and there, maybe a football, summer. The list is endless.
This is what we most would call easy, but....... yep, always the but....., it does depend on accurate cutting and accurate 1/4 inch seam to stay square. I squared up when it was 8.5 inches. Once you put the last of your rectangles on, it should be 12.5 unfinished.
Please ask if you have any questions. I also take suggestions.
Happy sewing!
