SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Feb 10

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Feb 10, 2024 5:14 am

Good morning,

The rain is finally starting here. Thunderstorms predicted for noon-ish and rain all day long. Hopefully it will move on before we hit the road tomorrow morning. We are cleaning house this morning, washing dog rugs and cat blankets, and dumping tanks. I'll go through cupboards to make sure everything is secure for traveling. We're going to the kids for a goodbye lunch of pizza and beer. Sad to say goodbye. I will have to literally tear myself away from our baby. But I'm also happy to have home in our sights. Bill will hitch up the trailer this afternoon so we'll be able to make a quick getaway tomorrow morning - and a fairly quiet one. Not everyone appreciates a diesel engine running at 7am for 20 minutes during the hitching/warming up process. So we try to be aware of our close neighbors. Though everyone here also has diesel pick-ups. We usually hitch up the night before if we can stay fairly level, then in the morning mosey out of our site to a parking area to warm up the engine before getting out on the highway.

TINA - are you able to see your new chiropractor very often? Mine helps. And it would help more if I were more faithful about the exercises and stretches they tell me to do. But I hate exercises and I hate even more taking good sewing time to do them! So, my problems are really all on me.

BECCA - you are so right - cutting fabric at a lower level can mess up your back pretty quickly! Nice to have a chat with your friend from Franklin. Any chance you two could meet for a visit when weather is nicer? Maybe even halfway for lunch? I will keep Feb 19th in mind and prayer for the new baby. And for Levi finding a new job. Though, just when a new baby comes home to a busy household, it might be a blessing to have him home for a few weeks.

LORI - your quilt is lovely! And I'm sure will boost your cousin's spirits. I'm glad you were able to do it for her.

MARY Q - we missed you yesterday. I know you didn't have the best of days with KC. I hope you don't have to go back!

We're having pizza at noon so I'm not sure how hungry we'll be for supper after that, but I have burgers ready to go if we are. We were going to do the burgers last night but we didn't know the kids had a plan to surprise us with Subway sandwiches and a picnic, which was way more fun than burgers here! Amara loved crawling around on the Astroturf and the quilt Autumn spread out. So if we need a little something tonite - we've got a plan.

What's cookin' at your house?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, wow, it seems like time has gone so quickly and now you're ready to head home. I know it's going to be hard to say goodbye. We're supposed to get the rain today too but the next several days are looking pretty good.....as long as the wind doesn't go crazy. I do get to my chiropractor pretty regularly and it does help me a lot.
Lori, the quilt turned out great, it will be treasured.
I've been thinking of having tacos or taco salad for supper, I'll see which one Frankie wants, he can be the tie breaker.

Good Morning,

Maryz - Be sure you have a hankie (tissues) in the truck, I am sure if you are like me you will need them. You have had an awesome visit with Amara, also with Autumn and Antonio this year. Much better than in years past. The next five days at least look like no storms. Weather app is predicting rain next Saturday and Sunday (the 17th and 18th) which is the days of our local Guild Quilt Show. Hope it doesn't start until late afternoon. Sometimes the storms move slower than predicted this far out. Right now, prediction is middle of the day. Oh no!! Sunday it is predicted to be overnight and then Monday really heavy rain predicted. Attendance is always low on rainy days, and we need to have good attendance.

Lori - Beautiful quilt!

Tina - I sometimes give my DH a choice as well. Last night I asked if he wanted Pizza (National Pizza Day) and he said yes. So, we made pizza. He helped me roll the dough thin for his Pepperoni Pizza and I made a small vegetable pizza in the small iron skillet. Both were delightful. We also talked about Valentine's day. We made reservations on Monday at an Italian Restaurant. Wednesday is Ash Wednesday as well so we did not want to go out.

I found the perfect piece of fabric for the background of the poppies and also have the green for the stems so I am almost ready to begin. Maybe this morning I will get the stems ready to stitch this afternoon while on Zoom. I do need to go to grocery store.

Becca - Prayers for a safe delivery for your new grandchild.

Tonight will be Barley Vegetable Soup for dinner.

Carol

Carol, are you doing the Poppy quilt by Tina Curran? I love that one. She was at our guild last year, but I was unable to take the class.

Becca, I too had a beautiful morning to walk. Cool, but clear. The mountains are covered in snow in the distance. It's so beautiful.

Tina, I keep seeing tacos pop up as dinner. Now I want tacos. Maybe tomorrow.

Mary, safe travels. I know you will miss the A team. Maybe they'll make a trip north to see you.

I got the pink quilt quilted today. I had to piece batting, but had just enough. I think I'm going to pull the Minkie around to the front for binding. I've never done this, so I'll have to Youtube it.

Dinner was a sliced buffalo chicken and Munster cheese sandwich.

Sleep well.
