SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Nov 18th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Nov 18, 2023 4:50 am

Good morning,

We had a nice, relaxing day yesterday. I did get a fair amount done on the stocking - maybe 3 square inches? Got in some walking, too. That's about all. Today the kids are coming here for pizza lunch. Their deal was - we provide the lunch and they'll provide the baby. We'll get out a few of the toys we brought down but still have here at the trailer for Scabooch to play with. I want to do a few cleaning chores in the trailer this morning and I'll also probably get a bit of stitching done somewhere along the line today.

BECCA - that's such good news that Taylor is doing well. But I'll still keep praying for her and the baby! I think I understand now how you did the names on the stockings. What about the fluffy beard? is that added later, too?

LORI - Congrats on the new car! Our friends at home, Doyle and Susie, also bought a new car yesterday. A burgandy Subaru Outback. It must be new car season.

TINA - sorry your day with Holly didn't turn out like you'd hoped. Were you able to use those hours to get a little sewing done? I think if a hairdresser kept me in a chair for even half that long, I'd be finding a new hairdresser! What a day waster! It took only 1 hour for my gal to highlight and then cut my hair. You asked how many square inches in this stocking. Best count is about 200, give or take 10 inches. I've been working on it for 10 months so far. These stockings (I've made 12 over the years) usually take me about 18 months but I've really poured on the coal with this one so will be whipping it out in about 11 months.

I'm guessing our big meal of the day today will be pizza. If there's a few pieces left we'll snack on them for supper or else make a sandwich.

What's your plan?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, wow, the stocking must be a really nice big size when finished.
No, I didn't get any sewing in because if I sit and sew I end up hurting too much to be able to travel.
Yesterday was a baking day. My house smelled so good but it got too warm in here and I ended up turning the AC on for a few hours.
I'm going with Holly and the kids this morning, we should be back after lunch......I think we're going 4 places.
I talked to Kevin last night, Elijah had to go to urgent care, his ear infections aren't getting any better and actually are getting worse. They tested him for covid, flu, rsv and I think strep and all were negative so they are upping his antibiotics to a stronger dose. Easton had strep but hasn't been around Elijah and he's been on his medicine for 4 days now. His med made a huge difference in less than 24 hours. Tis the season I guess.
Tonight is Dad's night so I think I'll have Frankie do bbq pork chops on the grill and we'll have baked potato and a veggie.

Hello everyone Beautiful sunny day here but cooler tomorrow And cool Week of Thanksgiving which is the way it should be
I froze 5 more qts of apples this morning That is all Thank goodness
We had a scare yesterday Brodee went to Hospital They concluded it was seizure related and hee we got to come home He usually has to stay a day or 2 at least
I know it scared Taylor especially
It sure made me upset They delivered my meal to door & was very nice about it
Maryz Taylor sure needs all the prayers they can get I am very appreciative of them That is a lot of work on the stocking just like one I’m doing I see I am rusty on the graph knitting I hope it gets easier as I go The angora is knitted in as you go You have to really concentrate and keep your mind on it as you go as I’m sure yours is the same
Enjoy your baby loving time

Tina I thought you were joking about her being in chair that long Apparently something went wrong I would have left before that Hope today is a better day I wish the chef here would grill pork chops He only smothered them in gravy and cooks them that way so I stick to grilled chicken most of the time
I am working on the stocking I may run over to the Thrift shop for a card for this place being so kind to me They went out of their way to help me
I chose grilled chicken spinach and roasted potatoes.
Have a wonderful day. Becca

Tina, hope you had a good outing with Holly.

Becca, when you freeze apples, do you put anything on them to keep them from turning brown?

Mary, I bet you had a wonderful day with A,A, and A.

I did some things around the house today. I also transferred an embroidery pattern on to a tea towel.
I'll stitch it up as a Christmas gift.

I'm making a new recipe called Hearty Tortellini soup. I think I saw it on FB. It smells wonderful. It will be ready in 20 minutes. I'll let you know if it's any good.

Have a lovely evening.
Lori 8-)
