Good morning Everyone,

It's 55⁰ outside and we are going up to 79⁰ and for the next couple of day.
I did 2 loads of wash yesterday then didn't do anything else.
I got a magazine in the mail but I'm thinking about discounting it when my subscription runs out they don't put any articles in it and it seems like all those patterns and nothing else.
I use to like getting Quilters newsletter back in the day had alot of articles about the quilting world technics and latest stuff for quilting.

Today I will do something.
Well thats all the news from here.
Have a great day.

Good Morning I slept late but I went to bed late too...I changed the sheets on my bed an d re made it, Ken brought coffee up and he is dressed...he is working on a project in the shop, ( A desk for his basement work room) So he wants to get that done.
I will work on Irene today,,,I also layed out the nativity wall hanging I unearthed,,,it wont be hard to put together, It is a Nancy Halverson pattern and to me it is just a large OWL. her usual style. so my plan is to quilt til my back complains than move to the wall hanging or make some veteran quilt blocks today...till my youngest son comes over this afternoon,,,,I hope to get Irene quilted,,and finished this week....She will be in my living room after the Christmas decor comes down,,,the scrappy colors of this quilt will be good on there,,,
,,Well I need to finish this coffee nd see what Ken wants for breakfast....Hope you all have a blessed sunday,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning to all on this beautiful Sunday.

LOIS--I think that many of the magazines are so full with ads that it takes away from the purpose. When you take the patterns or the articles you are interested in out, you'll see a pile of them and only a few pages you'll keep. I watch Love of quilting and record them from their Sat. a.m. show. Then I watch and decided whether to keep it or not. I get a kick out of Fri. Edtya Sitar's live show-she is so much fun to watch.

Today should be a mid-70 sunny day. Sat. we drive to my DD to give my DGD, Piper, my car. Its a '15 Rogue and this will be her 1st car. She is thrilled and with only 60,000 miles on it, she'll have it thru college (I hope) We'll fly back on Fri. I brought a new Rogue a few weeks ago but have not driven it since I drove it here. Why-I don't know. LOL

I know many here have spouses and even themselves who are ill-my prayer are for you to have a wonderful peaceful day.

Morning
It's been crazy here. Wednesday we went to Arkansas to help a friend, Thurs it was doc for me, just a check up. Friday my DDIL came over and we made applesauce and apple butter and canned it. We processed 1/2 bushel of apples. Then she and Joe brought one of the chickens in house whose butt was encrusted with poop. Cleaned her up, and she's staying in dog kennel in garage. She will probably go back to flock today.
Yesterday I went grocery shopping, made supper for lunch. Then after Joe went to work, it was laundry, mowing, floors, bake cake, get Mac & cheese ready for oven....at 9:30 lady night, I put roast in crock pot. Today up at 6, shread roast and add sauce. It's shredded bbq beef for lunch to go with Mac & cheese.
Neighbor just dropped off tomatoes, so tomorrow I will cook them down and can sauce.
Someone sit for me or take a nap....I need it.

Good morning,

I took a 3-hr "break" in the middle of the night and overslept this morning. Even Scottie didn't wake me up, though he probably tried! lol!

FLO - you have been busy but you'll be very glad of it this winter! Yum!

DIANE - so nice of you to give your old car to Piper. I bet she is thrilled. Smart to make that trip before winter weather arrives.

LOIS - magazines! They are hardly worth buying any more. McCall's Quilting used to be 10x10 inches, at least 1/4" thick, and it came every month. Now it's the size of other mags, not thick enough to measure, and comes every 2 months. And I pay twice as much! I get McCalls', AP&Q, and Block. I always save the Blocks, but the others I keep for a few years, then go through, pull out patterns that catch my eye and recycle or donate the leftovers.

JUDI - I'm so excited for Nolan! I hope he loves pharmacy. It will be a good profession. He sounds like a mature young man with a good head on his shoulders. He deserves a special quilt to send him off to college, don't you think? ;)

CHRISS - I love garage sales and flea markets. You never know what you might find. And you never said what treasures you found. My problem is I can never resist the treasures!

JANA- your yard is going to be a park by the time you are finished! And 1/3 acre is a nice-sized lot for modern times. Here, there is just barely room left to walk between the new houses they are building. My DD and SIL bought a new BBQ years ago and had to take it to the back yard through the house!

VAL - talk about a busy person! YOU wear me out! lol! But I am a firm believer that keeping busy and engaged keeps you youthful! So, keep on keeping on! Yes, we were looking for a common denominator for all our sick and injured folks. We decided not to go there!

MARY Q - you're going to be busy today getting carpet ready. It's a big job! Seems like we've done it every 16 years since I bought this house in 1986. I'm glad the kids are going to help you. Your bra quilt is a cutie! I've been wondering, too, about some of the folks who seem to have moved on.

TINA - yes, standing at the quilt frame takes a toll on the neck, back, hips, legs. I prefer to sew/quilt/sew/quilt, etc. It breaks up the stresses on my joints with different actions.

Yesterday I messed up my sewing room again and made 4 different, scrappy blocks for Oct lotto. I wanted to try some blocks I've never made before. I also washed 4 loads of laundry and cleaned out some odd places - under the bathroom sink, storage area under the stairway, my jammie drawer, etc. It was a productive day. Today, clean the sewing room AGAIN, and then start organizing fabrics to start unicorn.

Bill is getting anxious about his cataract surgery. His dr is scheduled through the end of Oct. If he has it done then, we have to delay Texas a month which puts us at risk of winter driving. Or he can wait until we come home in Feb which dr says is fine. Or he can have it done while in Texas. However, IF something were to go wrong - we'd be stuck 2,500 miles from home! I'm not Lyn - I don't drive our fifth wheel. We do carry insurance that if something happened insurance would pay for someone to get us, our rig, and our pets home. However, I really don't want to test how good that insurance is! Bill is already blind in one eye since birth. I want him to have his own dr here do the surgery, either now or in March. I tried to get him to go to the eye dr during the summer but he is a procrastinator and now here we are. 98% chance all would go fine if he had it done in Texas, but dr says 2% chance of complications up to and including blindness in his good eye. Argghhh... Men!

So, we had a long discussion on pros/cons of when/where to have this done. Now I'm going to go hide in my room and let him think about things.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday!

Good morning everyone! 🌞
This will be a fly by.....Easton stayed the night and he's wanting breakfast.
Rosie; my girl crocker spaniel had a bad seizure last night at 2:00 am and I couldn't go back to sleep until sometime after 4:00, I'm exhausted. She hasn't had one for a very long time, probably a year. She doesn't have them often enough for any medication plus she has a liver disease that they can't do anything for and will shorten her life and any seizure medication and it would probably do her in faster.
Friday night my little brother had to have one of his kitties put to sleep, he's devastated, they are his kids. He had just had him at the vets last month and they did all kinds of things to him and he had to have IVs at home and special food and all, it had cost him $4000, that's how much his kitties are his kids. But Friday his pancreas and kidneys started shutting down and he had no choice. He wasn't even an old kitty, only 7 or 8 I believe.
Today at 1 is Preston's birthday party, we'll be there for a few hours. I need to get his presents put in a bag.
Well someone named Easton is starving he says....πŸ˜‰ so I gotta scoot.
You all have a great day! πŸ™πŸ™

Good morning!

Rained overnight and more off and on today.

Daniel got the rest of the wall stone moved into the fire pit area before the rain. Now he'll get the wall stacked. That's the easy part. Ethan helped me with groceries yesterday and it was a big help. We went to Costco and I did file the EIR report, with Scrooge, and brought home a cute, big gingerbread house decoration for Christmas. It will live on the top of my quilt armoire in the great room area. Haven't succeeded yet, note, yet on the other one I want, a outdoor cute red truck for the lawn in the front yard.

General Conference was wonderful yesterday and the last two sessions are today. I worked on my quilt and will do more today.

Time to get breakfast, traditional Conference breakfast, chocolate waffles, ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It's only a twice a year treatment y'all come! I'll share!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning!

A drive-by for me as well. Breakfast yesterday was very nice. The only down side is the restaurant is SO loud I could barely here my DSIL speak. Today is church and then the first of the month chores. I hope you all have a fantastic day! xoxo Sharona

Maryz - prayers for Bill's decision. That would be scary...

Tina - I sure hope you were able to get Easton fed before he passed out from hunger. ;)

Wish I had more time - hugs to all y'all.

Good Morning Girls

Yikes!!! October 1st!!! You wouldn't know it here, well except for the leaves changing, but I just set the AC to come on it it gets up to 79* in the house! We're in for a few hot days, then back down to normal fall weather! Yeah! Tomorrow's High temp may break a record here!!

Lois... Oh I like the magazines that are full of patterns!! That's why BLOCK magazine is the only one I get. There are stories and other fun stuff in it... but it's 95% patterns... I have a whole library of them---unfortunately, the only place to keep them is out in my garage. I seem to remember Quilters Newsletter, but I don't think I've seen it for a long time! I pick up one at the grocery store from time to time.

Judi.... You know, I think that's what true love is... bringing your wife a cup of coffee! So awesome that Nolan is going to pharmacy school!! It's a long haul now.. at least six years. When my DEX went it was 5 and there were two options when done... Retail or Hospital. Now there are so many options - Nuclear, Long term Care, Consulting, Oncology etc. I do have a soft spot for Pharmacists as I have known many!

Diane... Sounds like it's going to be hotter here than in SC today! Oh I bet Piper will be so excited to have your car! My kids are planning to take over my Escape, but I ain't done with it yet!!! I was kind of hoping it would last me until they wanted to take away my car keys!!

Flo... Holy Moly you've been busy!!! If I thought those jars would survive a trip to MN I'd volunteer to test taste your apple butter and pear butter etc!! You will be glad to have all those canned goods come winter!

Maryz.... For a minute there I was worried about you. You are usually here long before me, especially since I'm already showered and dressed. I'm thinking if Bill can wait until February for his surgery... probably a good idea to wait. I never had any problems with mine and was back at work the next day. But if he can still see well enough to drive, I'd say leave for TX as scheduled. It's one less thing to worry about. My Mom was blind in her left eye following her aneurism, so she was a little nervous about cataract surgery in her good eye too.. it all came out just fine.. But IMHO, best to have it at home with a doctor you know.

Tina..... Hard as I try I can't imagine paying $4000 for cat care! But then I'm not cat person. A dog on the other hand and I think I would hand over my credit card in a heartbeat! Sorry for your brother though.

Jana... Oh gosh, I can't remember the last time I had chocolate ANYTHING!! I'll be right there for chocolate waffles with sauce. Can I have lots of whipped cream though!

Sharon.... You have 1st of the month chores? Only thing I do on the 1st is turn the calendar page. My Mom always said it was bad luck to turn the page ahead of time.

Have a little more moving and organizing to do around today.. but will hit the sewing room soon too! Might see what I can find for lotto blocks. I had a couple of those "under the bed" boxes under my bed, so I dragged those and will store them in my car for the duration. Also found a bag with 2 quilt tops and backing in my closet that I forgot about! I'm thinking I might have to find something else to sew for a while as I've got an awful lot of quilts! Maybe I'll finally get around to sewing myself some blouses/shirts that I've had fabric for for YEARS!!

Better get to... gotta crank up the music!!
Wishing you all, All of God's blessing and grace today!
