Another chilly morning here. I suspect before long I will think this is a 'warm' morning! I'll be wearing a warm jacket for this morning's walk.
Becca - your painting really is very good. We are our own worst critics! I just Googled "fabric sealer for acrylic paint' and several options popped up. I know Michael's carries some of them and maybe even Walmart if they have much of a craft department.
Lori - the fair was fun and there were more quilts on display than in the past. Some of them were over the top fantastic! I never know if I feel inspired or discouraged by such quilts! lol! Prices have skyrocketed for everything. We paid $13 for a plate of fries and a grilled cheese sandwich that was pretty bad. We bought a carved wooden name sign to hang outside our RV and we also got 5 different Unicorn books at the children's book booth. Entrance for adults now is $15 for adults on a weekday - weekends are $18. But we got a $2 discount for being aged. She didn't even ask - just gave it to us! Not sure how I felt about that. . . .

CAROL - sorry Goldie didn't use the opportunity to spread the message of the organization. (But Private Benjamin was a funny movie!). The quilts: There was one Judi Niemeyer quilt in blues and greens. Hosta? And some appliqued beauties that took my breath away. One bookshelf small quilt that had 3-D accents that was impressive. An RV quilt from the Happy Camper pattern (which I did for our trailer several years ago) but she made sashing between the retro trailer blocks to look like highway and she added embellishments that I never would have thought of. I really liked that. And a lone star where the center was a swan. And the colors used and placement gave the illusion that the swan was floating on water and you could see a second swan - reflection of the first - in the water. So the top of the quilt looked like sunlit sky and the bottom was greens and blues that looks like a lake. That one got my vote! I think I've seen that pattern somewhere and now I'd like to challenge myself to make it.
Jana - great painting tips! Did you get your quilt loaded?
We enjoyed more chili last night and we have just enough left for one more meal, but I'm going to put it into the freezer for another night. This afternoon we're meeting friends about 2:30 for "lupper" at a deli within a small market in Olalla which is about 12 miles north of us. Not sure what we'll be having - we've never been there before. But no cooking here!
Quick aside note: If you ever read Gregg Olson's "Starvation Heights" this is where that story took place about 110 years ago. And Gregg Olson lives in Olalla.
