SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Aug 8

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Aug 08, 2023 6:40 am

Good morning,

It's going to be a beautiful day today! 79* and some clouds. There's a slight chance of rain tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Yesterday I finished up Catholes and my moose wallhanging. The last top is quilted and today I will bind it. We cleaned the LA and "put it to bed". (covered with old sheets). I will try to get some photos posted. We have Canadian Boondockers from Ontario and enjoyed visiting with them last night. So much so that we invited them to share our white chili and cornbread, which they happily did and seemed to like. Everyone had two helpings of everything! Most of our Boondockers we don't socialize with other than standing and talking for 15 mintues, but let them do their own thing. But every now and then we click with some folks. The last couple that were here live in Texas not far from A & A & A and they have a DIL named Amara! We clicked with them right away! lol!

TINA - well I sure hope those patterns turn up but if you have to reprint, be strong! Tell yourself you can always go back and peruse other patterns later. I also love those chilies - med. heat. Or mild. Just not so hot that I can't really taste them. I would use them in more recipes if I knew more about cooking with them. Mostly, I buy the big jar of diced green chilies (from Hatch!) at Costco and freeze them in smaller containers. Then I just make chile relleno casserole instead of the real thing. Are the kids back in school now? Ours won't start until after Labor Day.

IRISH - A tornado!? Wow! I'm glad you weren't affected too badly. You really do have excitement in your life! I would love to have seen you doing the twist! What a great dance that was! I tried it a few weeks ago here at home. You're right about the back! Line dancing can be more sedate than that. We used to do a waltz line dance. It was some easy steppin'! Sure wish I could remember all I used to know. Remind me again when is your sister's surgery. . .

LORI - there are hundreds of dances! All are fun - just some are more fun than others! :D And some are a little more energetic.

BECCA - I'm so sorry about Frankie's dog. I hate that our fur-family members don't live as long as we do. But maybe they can get a puppy that can grow up with Frankie. When I think of our Amara, I always think of your Frankie, too. They are only about 10 days apart, if that. I hope you get to meet her face to face one day.

I guess we'll have left over chili and cornbread tonite. And maybe salad? Or coleslaw. Tomorrow night - new food! Maybe steak . . . I run options by the HOH and see what he chooses.

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, looking forward to pics of your quilts!
I use chillies in burritos, enchiladas, make chile rellenos, breakfast burritos, on top of cube steaks with onion, canned tomatoes and garlic, a thing I make for supper LOL I can't remember what is called...., On cheeseburgers-those are green Chile cheeseburgers, calabacitas, Kevin uses it in chicken Alfredo, on hotdogs of some kind....I think they're called Mexican hotdogs but not sure. I'm sure I use them for more things but can't think of any right now.
The kids here started back to school Aug 1st, Matthew started July 26th I think.
Irish, glad you're alright, sounds like it made quite the mess.

Lori, the line dances the kids did at Jazmyne's party were pretty fast, they are all really good and it was so fun to watch them. It took Jazmyne a month to learn the one for Footloose and then she taught her friends.

I forgot to tell you all that Duncan had an appointment yesterday morning for his teeth, they cleaned them and he had to have 5 pulled; his 2 lower front center and his 2 top front center and 1 other on the top front. He's doing better this morning, running around all happy ❤️

Well since I went through the list of what I make with green chilies, I think I'll make calabacitas for supper.... It has green Chile, zucchini, cheese, corn and baked potatoes in it and it's meatless and cooked in a skillet on the stove and way easy. There's actually different ways to make it but this is what I came up with and we like.

Irish, that is crazy. A tornado in your area.

Mary, I'm a little slow on learning new dances. I tend to turn the wrong direction, but I'm working on it.
The more I practice, the better I get. Burning calories is always a good thing.

Tina, oh to be young and full of energy. Footloose was big when I was a kid, but we were all about Grease.
We knew every song, and dance move. How old is Duncan?

I got all my prep finished for my class tomorrow. It feels like I already made the quilt, but there's still a lot to do. I'm just about packed. I have guild tonight. I'm going to meet a couple friends for dinner prior. We're trying out a new place. So I don't know what's for dinner yet.

Have a lovely evening.
