SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, July 18

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jul 18, 2023 6:47 am

Good morning,

It's a beautiful morning here. I'm off on my daily walk with my neighbor, Lori, in a few minutes so I got to get typing here!

Yesterday was errands, kitchen work, and some sewing. Got the roofs fused and sewn on my Dresden Neighbhood TT. Today I plan to get the Christmas side finished. I even had some time to sit and read out on the deck! Today's plan - grocery shopping, sewing, reading.

TINA - I sure wish you'd cool down! You are making me hot and tired! I know your yard is loving the drinks you give it. So are you putting your blocks together now?

CAROL - homemade frozen meals are the best! Hope your dental check-up went well.

BECCA - you are always busy yourself! No grass grows under your feet. A baby quilt will be a fun project to work on.

LORI - yes, my Irish mom was fun and even verged on the mischievious side! A great compliment to my usually solemn dad.

Supper tonite is going to be rice with leftover muchroom/chicken/broccoli sauce over it which is leftover from last night. Though, you never know - grocery shopping today could change that menu.

What's your supper plan?

Hello everyone sunny here We were hazy yesterday from Smoke from Canadian fires
Clear today
Yesterday I got frustrated trying to do laundry I decided I’m going to start taking it with me when I go to Grandchildren’s house It’s just too much of a pain here It took me 3 hrs to dry 1 load Dryers don’t half work
I would get one if I had place for hookup
It’s cleaning day so I have to be on lookout for them
Tomorrow it’s DDS appointment Only for cleaning
And DGDIL has already asked me to go for lunch after She will always do something for you if she can
I be just saw the white squirrel leave her nest I hope to see babies one day It’s right out my window beside porch
I choose banana foster French Toast for tonite It has a banana Carmel syrup with it
I’m sure I shouldn’t have chosen it
Have a great day everyone
Today is my good friends birthday here I was taking her out but her family stepped up to take her out

Good Morning,

Maryz - Your Mom's heavenly birthday was Sunday and I didn't acknowledge it. Happy Birthday! Glad you are progressing on your sewing.

Becca - Trying to dry clothes in commercial dryers that do not work is no fun. Wonder if they are cleaning the filters? Good idea to take laundry with you and do it at your Grandchildren's house. Banana Foster French Toast sounds wonderful however I agree it probably isn't good for you. lol Enjoy it!

Yesterday DDS cleaning went without a glitch. I am not sure I want to stay with this dentist. The insurance isn't paying for the cleanings. Cash price is considerably less than if they submit to insurance. We need to check insurance prices too. Anyway, I had my teeth cleaned and all is well.

Before I went to dentist I stopped by Costco for gas and a carwash. It is so nice to have a clean car again.
After dentist I went to (Intra-Guild Co-chair) friend's house and she took me to lunch for my birthday. I didn't get home until 2:30. I spent the rest of the day in the sewing room doing odds and ends. End of day I finally got the hotel reservations for Road to California straightened out and we now have the days we wanted in a two-Queen bedroom. Yesterday was very productive! Oh, we had leftovers for dinner, so I didn't cook! Tonight, we both have meetings so we will be on our own!

Becca, that sounds like a delicious dinner.

Carol, what classes are you taking at Road2CA? I signed up for 2 day Shibori dying. I might stay one night in the area.

Mary, our Something Modern quilt won 1st at the fair. I just got a text from one of my friends letting me know. Woohoo! I bet your mom was a kick. We probably would have got into trouble if we hung out together.

Walked the boys early before it got too hot. Took my dad for a shave. He just stopped shaving for some reason. I asked him if he could shave and he said yes, he just doesn't. I guess you get to an age and don't do anything anymore.

I'll be sewing today. I need to make a label for the butterfly quilt too.

Dinner will be burritos.

Have a lovely day.

Lori - Congratulations on winning first place ribbon!!

I am taking two classes, both are with Lori Kennedy. Wednesday's class is Machine Quilt with Classics and Thursday's class is Machine Quilting with Personality. I will look at quilts and shop on Tuesday evening and all day Friday. I think if there are lectures I will try to take them too.

Good afternoon!

I am slowly getting the hang of cooking for Michael. No salt, tiny amount of olive oil, and everything is either weighed or measured. Tonight is a grilled chicken breat, asparagus and some kind of carb. Might be fruit or another veggie. I am using several different Mrs Dash seasonings for flavor.

Mary - I told Sarah about Trains and the sale - she may get into trouble. Sandee too - especially if there's any Peanuts fabric! They have plenty of space to bring it home too :) Also heads up, both of them are basically allergic to food! They'll have their own. So no treats , just visit. You two are wonderful!

Becca - oh what a inconvenience to not have working properly dryers! Is there a place for a small foldable drying rack?

Lori - sounds like R2Ca will be a great show with lots of classes. Wonderful your quilt won!

Carol - you are a great planner for the R2Ca! A very late happy birthday!

Tina - love the barn! Looks like a great wedding venue. Or Sweet 16 parties.

Karlie and Kari are here as my back ups. Just 8n case Michael falls. But so far he's very stable and that hasn't been a problem. We got his blood sugar back to where it should be.

So I'm off to get some uglies done and laundry too.

Hugs,
Jana

Hi all! I'm late. I was here earlier a couple times but got called away before I could post.
Mary, I wish we'd cool down too, this is totally ridiculous if you ask me, we started with 100° I think the 18th or 19th of June and it hasn't gotten below that since and our forecast till July 31st is 100°+, 3 days in a row of 108° 🥵
I can hardly wait to see that topper!
Becca, I watched Paula Dean make banana foster once and have wanted to try it ever since but haven't, tell me if you liked yours 😁
A not working right dryer is a pain in the hiney, report it, hopefully they'll get it fixed.
I hope you get to see squirrel babies 🥰
Carol, we have Delta Dental and it's about $12 a month and we get 2 totally free cleaning with full checkup a year at no cost and our part to pay is usually 50% of the charge for other things..... makes a crown cost about $500. Glad you got your reservations worked out. Frankie is getting a root canal Thursday and it's going to cost $500.
Lori, Congratulations on your win! 🎉🏅🏅
We hit 100° by 11 this morning so you'd have to practically walk your furrkids before sunup here.
My Dad quit shaving for awhile but then after about a year he started again, I don't know what came over him either 🤷‍♀️
Frankie will go a few days here and there without shaving but I complain because I don't like to get stickers with kisses LOL
Jana, the barn makes me want one 😁 it would make a great place for all kinds of things....a quilting retreat for 1! 😁😁
Glad Michaels sugar is back under control.
Jazmyne's car is almost done! It's been fun watching her come in all sweaty and dirt smeared on her face and the stories she tells me about her and Papa taking parts off and putting them on. She laughs because she can get into tight spots with her fingers and her Papa can't. I listen and have a smile in my heart and all over my face ❤❤ There's another part coming that I finally found today for the headlight and they have to take the dash apart and see if the speedometer cluster can be fixed, it was working but the cousin took it apart to clean it and when he put it back together it didn't work, we're hoping he just didn't get a wire plugged back in because the couple I did find are very expensive. Frankie also has to make a grille because we can't find one.
Tonight was pizza night at the winery and that was supper. They were packed, it was fun, Jazmyne loved going!
