SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, July 16

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jul 16, 2023 6:45 am

Good morning,

Today is my mom's 109th birthday. Some days I feel like she's right here with me. Especially when I'm doing things she did so often - making jam, hanging clothes, sewing shirts. lol!

I made two batches of raspberry jam yesterday. It's sitting on my countertop now. I leave it undisturbed for at least 24 hours. My mom always said the most important part of canning and "jamming" was leaving it on the counter for a few days to admire! lol! I also started cutting out a Dresden Neighborhood Tabletopper for my niece. Today, I'll keep working on that. I decided to make one side of it Christmas and the other side fall/harvest/Halloween so she can just flip it over.

TINA - your family reunions sound epic! Just what they should be! What great memories you are making for your grandkids! And did all your family attend?

BECCA - I forgot just who is having the baby that you are making the quilt for. It will be a fun project for you. Are you embroidering it or piecing it?

CAROL - I hate the thought of having to change passwords. Ugh!! Your trip didn't last long. Just an overnighter?

Bill says he wants tacos tonite for supper. We may have to go to the store for that - or eat chicken tacos. But tacos it shall be!

And what shall it be at your house?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, happy heavenly birthday to your mom. Mom memories are the awesome ❤
You're table toppers sound so cool!
Jazmyne was the only one that went with us this year, Maria started school Wednesday and they took Matthew school clothes shopping and she was too tired for the reunion this year. Holly hardly ever goes because someone else doesn't like to go. 🤷‍♀️ The boys would come with us but I prefer not to have to rope them in and try to visit. The cougar has killed all the cats there and has been seen sitting on the porch so not a good idea to let the boys just run free, plus there's 2 big deep irrigation ponds there.
I posted a pic in today's sew in of the barn, it's a panoramic view pic.
Supper tonight will be leftovers from the reunion that we were giving. I'm thankful for that cause I'm dragging this morning....2 nights of going to bed at or after midnight is enough for me.

Tina, sounds like you had a wonderful time. When the kids get to a certain age they don't want to take part in things, but then they come back around as they get older. Bummer about all the cats.
That would be a little concerning to have a cougar around like that.

Mary, how long did your mom live? My sister's aunt Dorothy is 105. She's been in a home since she was 97-98. She does nothing but lay in a bed all day. I don't know if that is really living.

Becca, do you get breakfast and lunch meals as well? Or do you do that on your own? I change my mind a lot and would probably want something different from what I chose the day before for dinner.

Didn't do much yesterday. I worked in the yard in the evening when it cooled down a bit. Will do the same again today. Cleaning out the flower beds along the house. I did get the binding partially sewn on, but ran out of bobbin. I took it as a sign to stop. lol I'll finish it up today.

Dinner will be chili.

Have a lovely day.

Good Evening,

Hope all of you had a wonderful day. I did some hand embroidery while watching The Quilt Show. Nice relaxing afternoon.

Maryz - We actually were gone for five days. Since we went to my niece's the day before we left and I went to the Long Beach Quilt Festival the three days before that I felt I had been gone a long time. lol

Becca - So sorry you didn't enjoy your dinner. Do you keep snacks in your place?

Tina - I agree that barn is really beautiful!! Sorry about the cats.

Lori - Hope you got more done today in the sewing room, but sounds like you finished a project outside. I need to wash the front window and am waiting for it to shade this evening.

Dinner was Pasta and (Turkey) meat sauce and a kale salad.

Carol
