it's a beautiful morning here, though we could smell smoke the minute I opened the sliding door. From fires in B.C. and Alberta. It's slightly hazy. We'll be going to about 85* today, then dropping back into mid to upper 70's. Purrfect!
Yesterday, after cleaning up from the Fourth, I worked on my Christmas blocks. That's pretty much all I did. Everything else is caught up. Today - more blocks, then maybe I'll move back across the hall to OWL, which is waiting patiently on the LA. We have new Boondockers who really make me miss our old Boondockers, (the quilter)! These new folks will stay one more night to visit their grandson, a sailor stationed on the Nimitz which is docked in Bremerton. Bill loves doing the Boondocking thing. Me - not so much but that's just between you and me.

CAROL - I'm happy to hear you are going to give machine binding a try. I really struggled with it at first and even gave up for a while. But now, I'm fairly proficient and can bind a queen quilt, start to finish in about an hour and 15 min. Such a time saver. The one secret to machine binding is you first stitch the binding to the back instead of the front of the quilt. I frequently forgot that at first.
TINA - I'm glad you'll be facing the window in your new arrangement. My machine faces my window, too, and I have a beautiful view of the woods, driveway, and rhodies. I've tried rearranging my room but I'm not willing to move my machine. lol!
BECCA - you are adventursome to walk with the bears! Maybe you want to get some bear spray, too? I've seen walking sticks with bells on top for the bears. Thinking of you on CA's birthday. Those are hard days.
Will you be going to lunch with your DGD? She probably wanted to celebrate Grandpa's birthday with you.
JANA - how far is the hospital from your house? Did you say about an hour? A convenient distance for all your campers to come visit, too. Here, spouses can often stay in the rooms with patients, even at night. Though not in ICU.
LORI - I'm sure you're having a great time in Sisters! It's such pretty country.
I think tonite I might just make a chef's salad for supper. I am tired of trying to figure out what to have. Everything sounds so repetitive and boring to me lately.
How is your supper story going to read?
