SUPPER CLUB - Friday, June 16th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Jun 16, 2023 6:04 am

Good morning,

We have a chilly morning again, but like yesterday, will go to low 70's by afternoon. I made good use of the weather yesterday and got in a few hours of work in the yard. I plan to do the same today. But first - I have an early morning mammogram, then I will stitch down my OWL Sept block. By then it will be purrfect temp outside for weeding, raking, clipping, deadheading. I need to remember to take my Aleve first though! I forgot yesterday.

BECCA - A nice evening with family. Sweet. Just to clarify in my mind - you have a son named Alex who has four boys and one of those boys is also named Alex? And Alex, Jr. was the one who lived here in WA for a few years? Or am I totally confused? Your suppers sound tasty. How many entre's do they usually have to choose from? It's nice to see you get back into your painting.

CAROL - I'm glad your neighbors didn't seem disturbed by the alarm going off all day. But on the other hand, if it had been a real emergency and no one responded, that would be disturbing in itself! I was looking through some patterns a few days ago that I keep in binders and came across a small Halloween quilt that is similar, though not quite the same as the one you are doing. I'm anxious to see yours!

Our pizza was good last night. I piled everything on it I could think of and we have half of it left so that's what we'll be having tonite. Unless we go out. Friends texted yesterday that they wanted to go to the Italian restaurant downtown and invited us to go with them, but they are dilly dallying about what day. So, we'll see if they get back to us today.

What's your plan?

Good morning everyone!
Thank you all for your kind words, it's been a rough week. Sammy is finally moving around this morning, I hope she eats today, she's had a tiny nibble here or there and I saw her drink water once. She's slept the rest of the time.
Mary, we can't put in a doggie/ cat door because of raccoons, skunks, snakes and strays. Your weather sounds great to me, we're in the upper 90's these days and the wind had been blowing bad everyday and we get covered in dirt. We can't even see our fence. It all starts happening in the afternoon 🥵😷😡
Carol, I think Frankie would give your hubby a run for the money on messy garages and mine says he spends hours cleaning out there 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I think he takes naps out there LOL
Jana, I don't drink coffee either so mine would be a cocoa table too, love it! I bet everyone is anxious at your house... tapping fingers and toes and watching the clock.
We're going to go get Dad groceries this morning. I sware he goes through more groceries than us! Yesterday was the 3 local grands and we had craft day, it was fun! Jazmyne was making roses out of ribbons to give to Holly. Easton loved how they looked and wanted to make some too but I didn't have any 1½" ribbon and Jazmyne didn't have any extra so I cut some red batik and white fabric strips and he made her 3 red and 2 white, they turned out pretty cool. I helped him with the folding part and he did all the hot glue part, I'm the one that got burnt fingers twice LOL. Preston just wanted to watch a movie so everybody had a happy day. I was in a lot of pain from standing and sitting but it was worth it.
Supper tonight..... hmmmmmm....... I'll have to see what we have in the freezer.

Good afternoon!

Finished the little float fake christening dress - all you will see is the body of the dress and the hem - so I added three rows of lace that I had just laying around here from making dolly dresses. Looks good - it will be seen from a distance, rolling down a major street - no way did it need to be perfect! LOL!

The weather cooperated for Daniel this morning and he was able to spray most of the yard - front and back, before it got to breezy. He'll finish later.

Not much else here - just not so patiently waiting for the California bank to get the wire money here - it has been sent, just needs to get posted in this bank. Then KEYS!

Dinner - unknown at the moment - we may head out somewhere - so the kids may go out and celebrate too - that is if there's any money left! ROFLOL!

If any of you do counted cross stitch - Sarah found a set - there will be 12 total of roosters and hens, done by Lori Holt. You can see them on Fat Quarter Shop. Currently there are 6 out - they are adorable! Not overly large - just 5x7. They set is listed in The Chicken Club at Fat Quarter shop.

Well time to be productive, most likely not, just lazy!

Hugs,
Jana

Good Evening,

Jana - Congratulations to Daniel and Kari. I know you are happy too! It will be a celebration tonight! Is the painting and work on carpet happening before moving furniture into house?

Maryz - You are so right. I think it was all the neighborhood noise. Our neighbors keep an eye on our house when we are gone so hope they listen! I found the cutest Father's Day card today with a pizza on the front. It looked just right for my DH.

Becca - If you have four choices are you required to choose the day before? Glad the chef found some yams for you.

Dinner tonight will be Bean and Barley Soup (Cooking Light).

Carol
