SUPPER CLUB - Friday, April 14th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Apr 14, 2023 6:26 am

Good morning,

I never made it to the garage yesterday. After quilting my March lotto, I ended up kitting up two Christmas and one Halloween wall hangings with the Mini Sew Wonderful ruler for future sewing - probably while traveling. This morning, I want to get the binding on that lotto quilt and then, because this is our only dry day for the forseeable future, I want to get the last of the old fall leaves raked out of my of my periwinkle. I might make it to the garage after that and do some cleaning. Or I might not.

BECCA - how much longer until you go back to Denise's? The way you've described Alex's place where you are now, I'm not sure I'd want to go back! How is Baby Frankie doing? And Carol?

LORI - sounds like one of those "...good time was had by all." outings!

JANA - good to have a new food in your culinary repertoire (and if you think I was able to spell that word without looking it up then I've got you fooled!). There is nothing better than dirt to play in! When I was little it was one of my favorite toys! When my kids were little my brother, Jim, brought in a dumptruck load of dirt and dumped it close to the house, just for the kids to play in. They loved it! Years later, after they grew out of dirt play, he brought over his dozer and smoothed it out! Sometimes we have to hit submit 2 or even 3 times. Not sure why, unless someone else is submitting at same time. Sometimes on my phone I find a text I never sent, and then wondered why I never got an answer!

CAROL - You've given us food for thought here. We're good on banks, but our wills need updating, so we have a call into our lawyer for an appt to to get that done.

Tonite we're going to grill burgers on the deck. Maybe, with quilts and the patio warmer it will be comfy enough to actually sit out there for a while. We got the TV back up on the wall so we can watch the news while we grill. I might make jojo's to go with or we might have baked beans. Our appetites aren't big enough any more to have both with burgers.

What are you having?

Good Afternoon,

I got to the gym this morning! Yeah!! I need to go more often. I also changed the bed and did laundry and cleaned the bathroom. The dishwasher is running right now. I need to go to meat market.

Maryz - I want to see what you kitted for Christmas and Halloween. You get so much done!

Becca - Glad baby Frankie is a good baby. My niece is doing a training program for my Grand nephew to get him to sleep all night. My brother will be taking care of him for four days in early May so he wants him to sleep all night. lol (My brother told me it is basically allowing him to cry and not pick him up.)

It is so much fun to hear about all the babies. Hope all of them are doing well.

Dinner tonight is still at the store but it will be chicken. We have a leftover baked potato and yam to go with the chicken. (DH doesn't like yams.)

Carol

Good afternoon!

Guess what, it's snowing! Mother Nature is a brat! Teases with a day of warmth, now more white stuff! Oh well........

I've got a good story. First, the backstory. We bought my oldest three kids, as they were teenagers, a old beater car to drive. It was a 86 Honda Accord hatchback. About ten years old at that time. Sarah drove it first, Daniel repaired it and then he and Matt just about drove it into the ground. Daniel fixed it up again, before he crashed it, totally. Well, in one of Daniel's rebuilding phases, he had to replace the battery. I was watching and being the good mom, reminded him to check the terminal cables and hook up positive to positive, negative to negative. I got the standard teenagers answer, I know I know. Well, Daniel crossed the terminal cable and flamed the battery, shooting up flames and blowing the fusible link and several other things. He has lived with our teasing over that for all these years. Remember Daniel collects cars like we collect fabric. Now, today, Matthew calls and wants Michael's advice on how to fix what Andrew just did, to a ten year old Honda, by flaming that battery! Andrew hooked up the jumper cables from Matt's big truck to the Honda backwards too. Matt saw before it flamed up his truck battery and got the cables off. But there is damage. Enoch is OK. The Honda needs help. So we are now passing the family battery escapades mantle on to Andrew. Andrew is about the same age, exactly as Daniel, when each did this.

Dinner- I think chicken may appear here too. What form is still being decided.

Today is our Lila's BD. She's 5. She has big plans for exactly what type of cake she wants. My littles are not staying little! She's my youngest.

Mary - happy one week to Kumquat! I have known friends that take a picture every week as they grow, so they won't forget what they looked like.

Carol - as busy as your morning was, you didn't need the gym run!

Becca - I didn't realize that you were moving so far from where you were. Sounds like it will be in beautiful country.

Time to go,
Hugs,
Jana

Jana, maybe have a third party check the connections next time. Yikes

Mary, I love making kits for future sewing.

Robin Pickens wad the speaker at Quilters by the Sea guild last night. She was a great speaker. I bought one of her patterns for a small wall hanging. It's a tea cup pattern. I made a couple to see how they would come out. They are definitely cute. I need to finish up the butterfly quilt before I continue on with this one.

Dinner was chicken with lemon pasta Alfredo and veggies.

Sleep well.
