First one done. It squares to 12.5 inches. Cut per the directions, sewed a scant 1/4 inch seam, used Aurafil thread, alternate seam directions, press with Best Press. I also put the 12.5 inch square ruler on the block when it is hot and then a heavy book. Leave a few minutes to cool. Your block will stay flat.

great block Valerie, I used your trick of changing sewing directions while putting the block together. I've never used anything but water when ironing.

I have 5 done, 2 more to go but decided to organize the sewing room. Big mistake, should have waited till blocks were done. Now I have to finish up some anyway so I can get to the machine.

I have a block picked out for April. Will be upping the difficulty just a hair but it will still be easy. Remember this is the year of practice! Practice! Practice!

Mary, it is a cool block and looks neat as a quilt. the white squares help make the pattern. It's really neat. But, just so's you'll know, my fingers are also crossed.

I love all the blocks. Definitely made me want to do this one. BUT …
