SUPPER CLUB - Thursday July 7th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jul 07, 2022 6:28 am

Good morning,

Yesterday was a busy day in the sewing room. I'm almost finished making my little stars. Today should wrap them up! Though I just realized our friends from Oregon will be here Saturday for 4 days. I didn't forget they were coming, but the days are rolling by so quickly that I kept thinking they were still a week or two out until I looked at the calendar this morning. So I have things to do to get ready. Plus a massage appt this morning at 11 and a Memorial Service and reception to go to on Saturday about 20 miles away. So we won't be here when our friends arrive. But they have been here enough times they know where to park their fiver and can hook themselves up without us being here. Now I just need to plan meals. And rats! No dishwasher with four days of company meals! Good thing the weather will be nice so probably we'll eat outside next to the fire most nights with paper plates. Easy clean up! We finally went to a different appliance store for our dishwasher. They have what we want in stock and will deliver it in a week - the day our friends leave. We cancelled Lowe's.

TINA - hopefully Kevin's case is light. And I've heard several times that the Moderna vaccines are more effective than J&J. So hopefully Maria will be OK. Maybe she could stay with you or with her family for a few days . . . I'm sorry for all the sorrow in your family. It's not right when it's a child. But life isn't always 'right'. We'll be going to a funeral, too, on Saturday - not a family member or a child, but a very dear friend since I was a teenager. He had a long, happy life, but he will certainly be missed. Enchilada casserole sounds delicious. I might do something like that for our visitors . .

JANA - I don't know where to start with you! You must be going in several directions all at once! Unpacking, kitty watch, uglies, laundry, family coming/going. What joy in your household!

CAROL - what fun - sewing for a new baby! Looks like you will be going fabric shopping!

I think we'll have another homemade pizza tonite. I have dough in the freezer, and leftover sauce and pepperoni. Need to get these all cleaned up before I start making new food for our company.

What's your plan?

Good morning!
Mary, sorry about your dishwasher. The new place couldn't get it delivered earlier? I hope they call you and say they can get it delivered tomorrow 🤞
I'm sorry about your friend passing. Thank you for your kind words ❤
Wow, you've really been putting the pedal to the metal on those stars! I thought it was a traveling project? I guess you decided to "get err done".
Yesterday after we got home I didn't get anything accomplished, I was just too drained. So today will be washing those flannels and cleaning house. Tomorrow will be all about cleaning and doing stuff at Dad's. I don't know if I'll get anything done here tomorrow after so I won't "plan" anything, I'll see if it's a surprise day for me LOL
Our enchilada casserole was yummy and there's plenty for tonight so yay no cooking for me tonight!

Good morning!

The excitement never ends at this house - well, Aaron's house. There's a barricaded suspect - a girl high on meth, who attacked officers out on the big thoroughfare with a knife, then ran to her house, 2 doors down from Aaron's house this morning. So Aaron is locked down in his house, armed and ready, if the girl tries to get in there. SWAT is there working their stuff. What a way to start a BD for Aaron. Aaron has had this person under surveillance for another PD nearby. Aaron lives in a townhouse and there are 4 units connected together. So it in his set of homes.

Dinner tonight is a copy cat of Hawaiian food from a chain here in Utah. Teriyaki chicken, Hawaiian macaroni salad and lemon cake. Aaron has loved lemon since he was a baby, so tradition is some kind of a lemon cake. Kate is doing all the food. I just supply the paper goods and the big enough house. Aaron's house is a bit crowded at the moment with SWAT officers - Lol,

Mary - good for you, or Bill for finding a dishwasher and telling Lowes where to stuff the missing one. We refer to Lowes, play on the name, Lousy-ies and Home Depot as Home Deplorable or Despicable.

Tina- so sad about losing one so young. I just plain despise funerals! Hope Kevin gets well quickly and Maria doesn't get it at all! New baby is very long away - September is coming fast!

Daniel and his buddy got off right when they planned. They are running empty and will go straight through. Should be home to California by dinner time. Daniel has some finishing and cleaning at the old house., then he'll be back, here to stay. Kitty crawled up onto Michael in the middle of the night. She's still quite skiddy, but it will be quieter here most of the day. That will help.

Well, waiting for the phone to ring to keep me updated on Aaron's fun adventures!

Hugs,
Jana

Aaron update - situation still going on - they are using his house as command center. As Sarah says, what better present in the whole universe could Aaron get for his BD - a police action, in his own house! ROFLOL! There's no safety issue, so all are fine at his house. Kate is trying to bake a cake, a tad bit hard with a bunch of officers in her kitchen area. Another story for a book. So far about 4 plus hours and still going. Kate's not on duty, but her Station crew is on standby in the front yard, if medical is needed.

All excitement is over at Aaron's. They have the woman in custody and are clearing up all the equipment from SWAT. It was Aaron's day off for his BD, but they put him on duty during the incident. So he'll get paid.

The never ending more to the story - during the stand off, the SWAT had all the electrical and gas turned off to the set of townhouses, so Kate just called, as she was trying to cook the macaroni for the salad, she has no stove. And no time frame when it will be back on. Mom to the rescue!

Jana - Aaron had quite a birthday! Trying to cook without gas or electricity just wouldn't happen! Glad everyone is safe.

Maryz - Glad you ordered a dishwasher from someone else. Lowe's definitely did not come through! You had a lousy experience!

Tina - Hope you had a great day today and hope tomorrow will be productive at your Dad's house.

Tonight's dinner was Stuffed Pepper Casserole.

Today I did some laundry, cleaned, sewed, quilted but didn't really do very much.

Carol
