We had a little T-storm last night so we moved inside the big kitchen of Bob & Betsy's house. Their large patio is covered and is protected from wind from predominant stormy side, but this storm came from the north so we decided not to 'weather' it outside. They made taco's for supper and I added strawberry shortcake. We had more rain through the night and it should be rainy for about 4 hours today.
Bill worked on our trailer brakes most of yesterday and we're hoping all it was was wire connections needing to be cleaned and reattached. We have quite a hill to go down tomorrow so cross your fingers for us, please!
VELDA - Sometimes you can really find a good bargain at the thrift shops! I have a skirt much like you described - black with mainly lime green embroidery on it, but a few other colors, too. My sis found it for me at Goodwill. When we quilt quilts we baste a 3 or 4 inch scrap border on both sides and the bottom of the quilt top. But not the top edge. This gives us a place to attach the side clamps and also to test stitch to make sure all tensions are right. The backing, we make about 4 inches larger than the top of the quilt all the way around. Every quilter does it differently, I think. This is what a professional quilter advised us once and it works very well. We use red snappers to attack top and backs.
JANA - That is a LOONG trip to make all in one day driving the vehicles that they will be driving - and then arrive and have to unpack at least enough for the night. Even just pulling our fiver, what is a 12-hr drive in a car is about a 14+ hr drive and is exhausting.
LORI - How long will your UFO challenge run? I'm am picturing your boys taking you for a walk. lol! Happy belated birthday to Jack!
CHICKIE is doing OK. But since her strokes, she is slower than she used to be and has let a few of her old activities go by the wayside. She has a new great grandbaby coming in a few months and has been working on a baby quilt.
I'm making chicken cacciatore tonite for supper. I'll serve it over fettuccini. It's a big meal in a crockpot that I brought all the fixings for for our wine tasting group in the second part of our trip. But most of them have cancelled on us, so I'm going to make it instead tonite for Bob & Betsy and another couple that is pulling into their yard today. B&B are also Boondocker hosts and can accomodate several RV's on their property at the same time. This new couple are actually friends of theirs who are also coming for a short visit, not real boondockers. We are running into town (15 miles) to the store for salad fixings and garlic bread. And we just might swing into the quilt shop while we're in town.

What's for supper at your house?
