SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 18th
Good morning,
I hope everyone had a nice Easter no matter how you celebrated. Drew was here for about 3 hours. We had such a nice visit we almost forgot to eat! He helped Bill carry our old 110# TV from downstairs family room up the stairs, through the house, and out onto the deck where they hung it on the wall of the house for summer livin'. We told him he was invited back next October to help bring it back inside. lol! He finally left in the afternoon because he wanted to get home to mow his lawn and do laundry. So I had time to sew and got all my penguin heads (36) finished. Whew. Today I'll start on the penguin bodies, do a few uglies, and take a spin around the laundry room with the Maytags.
BECCA - an eagle attending an Easter sunrise service HAS to be a good omen! They are a spiritual animal! We are addicted to Irish's Hays Eagle Cam. Amazing to see how the little ones change daily. Bill has several more people watching it now. lol!
VELDA-Probably a good idea that your son is waiting on better weather if he wants to ride his motorcycle to visit you. I was wondering if our DGS would ride his yesterday when he came to our house (25 miles) but he said it's in the shop getting checked out after sitting in his garage for the last 6 months. Yes, many happy things coming our way this summer. We are blessed!
CAROL - glad you are feeling fine after your 1 day of post-vacc reaction. So, how did you frost your cake? I like chocolate frosting on yellow cake, myself. Were elections held for the officers in your guild? I'm happy that you're happy with the new person. I know you've worked so hard to get your guild through a bad time. It must feel good to know you're leaving it in good hands!
JANA - thinking of you today as they lay your brother to rest. I wish things could have been different with him. Did Gracie get to make her cherry pie? And yes, if Aut's Santa Barbara plans happen, we might scoot down the coast to attend. But my guess it will be in Austin. I've always called Autumn our idea person. She has great ideas and then works from there. They have so much going on in their life right now - jobs, simple wedding plans, IVF timing (which is $$$), that even they are waiting to see how everything goes.
Tonite we will have last night's supper , because we were still full yesterday from brunch. Bill will have a little steak and I'll have a grilled chix breast. Corn on the cob and salad, I think.
How about you?

Mary, Santa Barbara is such a pretty place. It's only about 2 1/2-3 hours from us. That's only a month away. I bet they are excited. I'm so happy she found a good guy.
Becca, I got my cleaning done yesterday. So just a few loads of laundry today.
Jana, thinking of you today. Hope all goes well without any drama.
Jonathan will be here soon. It will be good to see him and the girls.
Dinner will be bbq burgers and baked beans.
Have a lovely day.

Maryz - I agree with everyone. Santa Barbara is a lovely place. Hope you are able to figure a way to take care of the pets. There are some state parks on the coast if you change your mind and choose to camp. Elections are held in June.
Becca - I need to try to find a Reader's Digest.
Lori - Enjoy your visit with Jonathan.
Jana - Thinking of you today.
I had a very short eye appointment today. Everything is fine. I am so happy she took me off the eye drop that was bothering me.
Tonight's dinner will be leftovers. We have Turkey, Mashed Potatoes and salad left so just add a vegetable.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 18th
Good late afternoon!
Thanks for all the thoughts today. Sarah and Sandee reported back that all was quiet for family drama. The only problem that arose, was that the flowers I sent seemed to be missing. So after a few phone calls, we think we have solved the mystery of what happened to them and that the family will have them at their house, now everything is over.
I should be a interior designer! Aaron and Kate are replacing and fixing the builder cheap stuff in their house. It's a townhouse, so not all that big. So with all my years of living with remodeling, I am helping set a organization list of what they want and how and when to do each step. Daniel and Aaron will tackle together adding a loft space over the front entrance hall. It is just a open to the ceiling of a two story area - wasted air space, that can easily support a loft - the girls will have a play area up there. Daniel is doing all the drawings and Michael is double checking the engineering.
Dinner - chef salads tonight. Michael request. Ethan and I made some very yummy - gooey chocolate cookies today. They are called Crumbl Brownie Batter Cookies - all you need is a box of brownie mix, 2 eggs, 2 1/2 tbls flour, 1/3 cup melted butter and 1/2 c chocolate chips. Stir it altogether. Its a very thick dough and use a scoop of about 2 tbls or so and place balls of dough on parchment lined cookie sheet. I use Silpats Baking Mats. They bake for about 12-14 minutes. The edges are crisp and the centers are fudgy. The recipe suggests eating them warm, so you can warm them up in the microwave to re-gooey the middles. Don't over bake, the recipe warns. We added chopped pecans to ours as well as the chocolate chips. Crumbl is a new bakery here that we have found. I think they are national as well. There are endless possibilities of what extras you can add - mint chips, toffee bits, nuts - peanut butter frosting, white chips and so forth! The recipe suggested Ghiradelli Brownie Mix. I used my Lehi Roller Mills Brownie mix that makes a 8x8 pan of brownies. The recipe says it makes 21 cookies - I got 23.
Well it's dinner time here - my termite just reminded me, it's after 6, he says
Hugs,
Jana
