SUPPER CLUB - Wed, March 9th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Mar 09, 2022 7:21 am

Good morning!

We are dry! Yay! And the sky looks mostly clear this morning. Double Yay! I have 20 min to type before Scottie and I have to meet Lori & Duchess for our daily walk. So I'll make this fast.

Yesterday I got binding and label on Tennessee Waltz. It's ready to go to my friend, Marilyn, March 25th. North Star is on the frame, hopefully quilting will start today. It will go to my friend, Susie, as soon it gets done. I will make label for that today. I got binding on my Christmas swap quilt and that's for us. For now, it's gone into the quilt storage closet. I have a 2-foot high stack of fabrics to sort, refold, and put away after making North Star - it used only two strips of each of about 20 different fabrics. Then maybe I'll get to the wedding garter. Bill and I also need to move four bookshelves - after emptying all the books! - today so electrician and crew can get to our electrical panel tomorrow morning. We will be without power all day tomorrow. So no sewing, quilting, cooking, etc. Unless we go to trailer and start up generator. I may just take the day and go thrift shopping in Tacoma. Though in this age I hate spending the gasoline! So maybe not.

VELDA - Gaacckkk!! Forbidden food in the air fryer! The only thing that makes it even borderline edible is the breading and grease! But even then . . . . no. Sorry if I confused you. I have two quilts going to two different friends - both this month, and both having serious health issues.

TINA - paint is cheaper by the 5-gal bucket and it's always good to have extra for touch-ups. I hope you get this project wrapped up soon. I am getting tired. And I don't care much for painting. lol!

JANA - comfy way to shop! That's how Bill shops, too. How long since Michael has had a tetanus shot? Adults are supposed to get them every 10 years, but if you have an injury, especially involving anything metal, you would probably get one from the doctor (if you went) if it's been more than 5 years, or if you can't remember when. Just wondering . . .

CAROL - You are losing me! Are you including FPP blocks in your autogaph quilt? Guess I need pictures!

Supper tonite will be restaurant leftovers. We had impromptu invite to join friends for supper last night so I had tortellini and Bill had penne something.

What's your plan?

Good morning!
Mary, wow wow wow, I'll say it again wow! You really get the quilts out!
Do you bookshelves cover your electric panel? I'm not allowed to obstruct ours per Frankie and the electricians, it's a safety issue. I guess if we need to flip a breaker off fast 🤷‍♀️
Yes paint is a little cheaper by the 5 gallon bucket and that's how we buy kilz because it's a lot cheaper that way. But Frankie has a bad back and can't lift those heavy buckets so I try not to aggravate it, I don't want him to have to get injections again or worse or be down with it. It's for sure I couldn't lift one LOL I'm no 🏋️‍♀️💪 LOL
Painting will probably be finished here in a cooler of months. But the east side might be finished by the weekend depending on the winds and dirt.
I have decided on supper yet......

Here is an EQ8 rendering of the quilt. The PP blocks are in the border. Hope the picture is worth a thousand words.

Good afternoon from a weird, wintery day in SW. Pa....We had lots of sunshine early this morning and then about 10:00 it started snowing, really, really hard big flakes and now the snow is almost gone and it's just wet and miserable...I was to meet a gal for lunch but she's having tummy issues so, no lunch today..But, I'm happy to stay right at home, today.....Yesterday, was card club so we ate and played cards and had so many good laughs, I need to stay home.....

Have been wondering if Becca is OK...I've noticed, she hasn't been at the table, the last couple of days....Sure hope there's nothing wrong......

Mary, you really have your work cut out for you by emptying book shelves....That's a job and a half! Most of my books are in my sewing/computer/craft room and one of these days, I really do need to start sorting...When we were cleaning out that hoarder house, I brought all kinds of quilting and pattern books home and there is no way I'll ever use them but they sure are nice to leaf through.....
I'm waiting to hear from Terry and find out if he thinks he wants this new job...With the boys, I'm not sure just how long their time is, each one was different....Stephan has been in for 3 years and hasn't really decided just where he wants to locate but if Terry and Theresa do go to Tennessee, he will try to get stationed that way....Nick has been in for 2 years already and we're pretty sure, he's going to make it a career..So many times he has said, there's nothing more exciting than working while sitting up on a fighter jet's wing....But, I have a feeling, he might just have something else that's exciting, Terry told me and this is a secret until he tells me, but he might be in a relationship with an young lady, shhhh.....My baby is really growing up.....

Not sure what I'm going to get into today....Do need to spend time with my neighbor's fur kids....I've very happy that my friend has a fella but hate to think of her maybe moving....I wonder if BabyGirl would like to start RVing.......

Since I'm not going to lunch, I might have to make some new food for dinner, gosh darn.......And I don't even have a bag of chips to rely on, things are tough......This might be a good day for chili, maybe.....

You all have a great rest of the day.....

Happy eating....................

Good afternoon!

I have been trying to get here all morning. Just one thing after another needing my attention!

Michael's toes are doing very well. He's good on his shots as well.

Mary - I too would want great weather if the cost of fuel is so bad! We too are going to have work done on the electrical panel. Our service coming to the house is big enough, but we need a few more breakers and the old panel doesn't allow for any additions. Not looking forward to no power, but I have Sarah's house and Smudge needs some love!

Carol - wow! Don't you just love EQ? I know Sarah does. Looking forward to the real quilt.

Tina - we use the big paint cans, but use the pour spout and put it in more manageable buckets. Love Kilz!

Irish - you are always on the go, doing such fun things! I won't tell your secret, but it sounds wonderful.

Got distracted again, Aaron this time. He has our little truck, it lives at his house now, and the battery is giving him fits. Well, it should, it's about 10 years old, way past normal battery life. So we will get a new one for the truck. We pay the insurance and maintenance, he gets to use it. Three vehicles at my house and only two drivers. Extra vehicles here get used when someone's breaks.

Dinner - already assembled, turkey enchiladas. Just need to heat and eat. Soups on as well. My house smells wonderful. Noodles will be tomorrow.

Last load of laundry needs to be switched,

Hugs,
Jana

Mary - you can skip what's below - sorry but it was very yummy

I get my banned PNW pond fruit- the orange one at Costco and cut it into serving size for Michael and me. I saw a recipe and tried it for my air fryer. I did just the banned in the fryer - seasoned with McCormick Smokehouse seasoning, maple flavor, rubbed generously on both sides, then on just one side, covered the piece over the seasoning with Dijon mustard, then topped that with a generous amount of panko bread crumbs, pressed on tightly. Placed in Airfryer at 400 for 6 minutes, my pieces were thin, and they were yummy! Cooked perfectly. Michael even asked for it again the next night. The amount of mustard is to your taste. It even works with French's yellow mustard. Added a salad and that made for a simple quick dinner and easy clean up.
