After some pretty nice days (for March) the rain is starting now. And I leave for my walk in about an hour. Sigh. Well, no one has ever accused me of being so sweet that I'll melt, so forward ho!!
Scottie has a hair appt today. He HATES having his hair messed with - baths, brushing, cut - hates it all! So it's worth it to us to pay someone else to do it! lol! But he'll be so pretty when he comes home. The first time we did this, they spritzed him with a foo-foo scent and when he came home, the cats took one whiff of him and started hissing and spitting at him. He looked like their dog, but he sure didn't smell like it! LOL! We told the groomer NO MORE FOO-FOO!
Yesterday I got the binding sewn onto one side of my TN Waltz. Today I'll make the label and finish the binding and then look for a pretty bag to put it in. I hope to see my friend March 25 to give it to her. The date for our little group of former co-workers semi-annual luncheon (though not since Covid) was just set last night. I hope Marilyn is well enough to make it - otherwise, we'll have to go delivering. My North Star will be ready for the frame this morning so hopefully Bill has time to load 'er up! Then I will make label and binding for this one, too.
IRISH - You're here! Yay!! I had to laugh at Kathy's description of the races. My DBIL LOVES racing. My sister describes it as "Drive like he$$, turn left. Drive like he$$, turn left". She is NOT a fan.
I'm glad Nick is getting to see more of the world, and some very nice parts of the world, at that. How much longer does he have in the service? and Steven, too - how long does he have? Or do you think they'll be career guys? TN is quite a ways to go visit, but I know you'll do it. You're not a big stay-at-home-body either! But it does bum me a bit that your Baby-sitter might be moving. I hope you have back-up! We have no one to watch our pets so they always go along. Good thing we RV! Yes, we have a week out starting March 13. We keep adding days to that trip so now we'll be gone for 6 nights instead of our original 4. Another week in April - also to the ocean but a different campground. and then in June we're going east over the Cascades to Yakima for 4 nights - wine tasting. Though fuel prices may soon be slowing our roll. Our Alaska trip is now in jeopardy. 
We found tons of old photos when going through my parents' things. My SIL just tossed them into a big box and put them next to the fireplace to burn. But I snagged them and later went through them all. By comparing backgrounds, the few notes on the backs, etc., I was able to "meet" my great -grandparents! I'd never even know their names! They turned out to be very precious indeed.LORI - I know your dad is grateful for your computer expertise and willingness to help. If I ever lose my Bill, I'm going to give you a call! What is your class that you are taking now?
JANA - haha! You truly overestimate me! I'm just obsessed with quilting and sew several hours most days. My sister says I need therapy. I say quilting IS my therapy! I have no idea what you said to Tina about pressurizing the house, but it does make sense if there's higher pressure inside, then the dirt will have a harder time getting in. I say wrap the west side of the house in plastic wrap! I was the picture person in our family. After I got them all sorted and identified, I tossed the ones that meant nothing to anyone, then made a "heritage scrapbook" for all my siblings and my 3 kids. I never did get round to making one for myself, though.
TINA - is the dirt storm over for now? Are you back to painting today?
CAROL - wow! 100 kits! I bet that didn't take any time at all!
I think we'll have tamale's for supper tonite. The last of my homemade tamales. They turned our pretty good for my first try. I will make them again one day if for no other reason than to use up the last of my dry cornhusks. They take up too much room in my pantry! We'll also have refried beans and a salad.
