SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, MARCH 1st

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Mar 01, 2022 6:42 am

Good rainy morning!

Well, it looks like March is coming in like a lion here! Yesterday it poured hard rain all day long. I never even poked my head out the door. No morning walk. Even Scottie made quick work of every trip he made outside. But it looks to be letting up a little today so my walk will happen. I think.

Life goes on here. Pretty quiet. Bill is still quilting and I think my Christmas swap quilt will come off the frame later this morning. Only two more tops to go!! I hope he can keep up this pace. I have nothing waiting for him in the wings either. Though last night I did come across a couple of scrappy patterns in an old BLOCK magazine that I really liked . . . :D

TINA - you and Frankie are really getting things whipped into shape at your house! But you need to take a break, Girl. I'm tired after reading about all you're doing!

BECCA - I'm really happy to hear these treatments seem to be working well for you! And good idea to steer clear of the stairs until you feel you are stable enough. Going up is one thing, but coming down can be another.

VELDA - I will try to get a picture of my RWB stars posted. It turned out even better than I'd hoped. We use Demand every now and then. The only thing is you have to sit through the commercials. After using the DVR and whizzing by all the ads, that's kind of hard to do, but it does give you time to go potty and fill your wine glass! :D

MARY ROSE - I liked doing that Celtic Twist block. In fact, I liked it when it came out in the 2016 magazine that we worked from and I had removed it from the mag and put it in my binder so I had it all waiting and ready to go! I've seen very small hams packaged and also ham steaks, 3 to a package, or like Tina and Velda said, about 6 thick slices to a package. But I haven't seen a ham in a tin in years. When we're getting tired of ham, I cube it up and freeze it to pop into split pea soup, scalloped potatoes, etc.

JANA - apparently you did a good job teaching your kids to drive! Is all your TV stuff working yet? We're all set for St. Patrick's day here, too. I could use one more green quilt. I do have an Irish Chain on my to-sew list and even have all the fabrics for it. Just haven't done it yet. Maybe I'll win those Celtic Twist blocks . . .

I was thinking of having chicken fajitas for supper tonite, though we do have leftover ham . . . Maybe I need to rethink this. I could make split pea soup instead. I guess I better run it by the DH Approval Council. Stay tuned . . .

Thanks for helping me out with the ham situation. I thought I was just missing the ham tins, but they must not be packaging them that way anymore. Another thought that crossed my mind was whether putting beef in the beans would work the same way that the ham does for softening and seasoning them. Hmmm...

Right now, I'm going to pull whatever meat is on the top out of the freezer and go with that for supper. So, I guess that falls into the category of "yet to be determined".

Today I will get vacuuming and dusting taken care of before sewing begins. Enjoy your day.

Mary that RWB turned out gorgeous! I know you will love it over your RV sofa on your trip. Thanks for sharing.
Last night I brought home my leftovers from my spaghetti special. And poof! I ate them all gone before bed. What a piggy! For some reason, I really was hungry for it. LOL.
Now I will find something else for lunch I guess.
Not sure what to fix for tonight. So I won't commit just yet. Need to put my thinking cap on.
😁
Hope all is well with everyone here.
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Good morning!

Goofing off here and just ordered me another cookbook. It's called Cake by Courtney Rich. She's a local girl and is a self taught baker. She just did a demo on a mint chocolate chip cake - it looked gorgeous! So just what I need, another goodie cookbook! The only problem with the cake was, not green! Mint chocolate anything has to be green! I will add a drop of food coloring.

Dinner- chili didn't get made last night. Ethan asked sweetly for chicken out and he had been a great helper, so that's what we did. Tonight will be the chili over rice with cheese and onions.

Uglies are done, so it's playtime the rest of the week. I am hiding out in the Batt Cave, as Michael is doing the budget for this month. It's not as bad as it used to be!

Mary - great quilt! Love stars and red, white and blue together. Looking for a hand work quilt for your trip to Alaska, what about a hand applique Baltimore Album ? Scrap user up and they are gorgeous. It's a bucket list quilt here, except I am not a hand work person.

Becca- knees use somany different muscles to go up or down steep grades. Take is 3asy.

Oops, being paged, with, what's this charge for, as Michael is doing the budget,

Hugs
Jana

Good Afternoon,
Tonight we will be having Linguini and Turkey meat sauce. There is a Zoom Board meeting at 7:00 PM so this will be an easy meal tonight.

Maryz - Good to hear Bill is busy quilting! Would you please send the Pineapple express south a ways? I do see Yosemite is going to get some rain on Thursday, but I would like some too!

Tina - Hope you made some progress on the East side today.

Becca - Glad to hear the treatments seem to be working.

Vel - I decided to use my Ninja a little more because you said the food was so good. What else have you tried lately?

Jana - Glad you got your Dish set up done. Setting up televisions can be confusing, hope your engineer is up to the task.

I need to go for a walk. It has been quite warm today.

Carol
