SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Feb 12

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Feb 12, 2022 4:46 am

Good morning,

We're supposed to have a pretty nice weekend with temps near or at 60*. The upper edge of CA's heat wave. Thank you, California!

Yesterday I did 3 loads of laundry and cleaned the upstairs (kitchen, living, dining, bath, sewing). Today will be the downstairs (our room & bath, family room). Sometime this weekend we will do a little yard work, I think, and probably watch the Super Bowl. Or not. We have no skin in the game this year, though I am a cat-lover, so if we watch it, I'll be yowling for the Bengals.

BECCA - sorry to hear that Brodee has epilepsy but with medications, it can be pretty well controlled. Hopefully he will grow out of it as he gets older. Enjoy your visit with Marty and Estel! I forgot, do they have a wedding date set? April?

TINA - so - no painting this weekend? I remember that time Jaz had to go to El Paso. I think you'd been on the forum about 2 or 3 years at that time. How are you SBS's coming along?

LORI - How was class? Got any more homework? How many classes are there? Your elephants, following each other, will bring a trunk full of joy to someone! Your niece, did you say? Congrats on a job so very well done!

CAROL - I hope your show is a great success. I miss quilt shows. Even our state fair, purported to be the largest state fair west of the Mississippi, only exhibits about 70 quilts.

JANA - :D Happy Birthday Eve to you and to Sarah! I'm glad she finally got her stove. That would be a great stove to have! And I'm happy they are finally getting their anniversary trip. You and Ethan will find some kind of trouble to get into, I'm sure!

As for our supper plan, I will have a confab with Billious when he's available (read awake). I have cooked chicken breasts in the fridge. But I'm leaning toward grilling burgers for Yankee Dip sandwiches tonite because it's going to be so nice outside, and having enchiladas tomorrow.

What's your plan?

Good morning!
Mary, yes it was in 2011 when Jazmyne had that seizure and I joined the forum in 2008. That stresser caused me to get shingles at 47 years old.
Yesterday was beautiful here, today won't be. I'm going to do some major cleaning. The dogs are all clean and Duncan got a haircut but Rosie didn't, I had problems with my clippers so need to take them apart and see what's what, may have to buy another pair, these are about 8 years old.
I've set a goal with the SBS, 1 each day. I'm doing that before anything else and then if I have time and energy I can always go do another later..... but if not then I'm ok with that, at least I'll be accomplishing the 1 a day.
Jana, Sarah's stove sounds like mine, so far I haven't used the bread proof, air fryer, dehydrator, broil or anything really except regular bake LOL I still need to download my manual....I don't like that they don't put a printed manual in products anymore.... some people don't have printers and others don't even have computers.... my Dad and Frankie would be these people so are most of our family members.
Supper tonight will be simple hamburger helper and a salad.
Tina

Tina, if you do one a day, you'll have a quilt by the months end.

Mary, I love the elephant quilt. Thanks. Yes it's for my niece. I do have homework again. I need to make templates for my flowers and leaves and create a design. I have a few ideas.

I'm so happy I finished the elephant quilt. That's 2 off my list, and I've started the 3rd. Blue and white log cabin. I have the fabric pulled, getting them ready to cut in the Accuquilt. The pieces are 1 inch finished width. I need to make 64 for a queen size. I want to get them cut this weekend, because we have a mini retreat Tuesday-Thursday this week.

It's supposed to get up to 90* today. The house stays cool, so I don't have to turn on the A/C.

Either left overs or cereal for dinner tonight. Depends on what I'm doing when that time rolls around.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon from a chilly but not cold, dreary but not raining, (right now). SW. Pa....Yep, I'm back, I think.....I slept in my bed last night but my dreams were still in Florida, before that, all my dreams were from the islands....My body is really having a good time, at least in my dreams.....But, I am home for a month or so or until Kathy tells me it's time to pack....
But, I do have sad news...My friend, Virginia, passed away, the 3rd night I was there...She had been in a coma and we knew it wouldn't be long but she really put up a fight, think she was trying to hold off until her 93rd birthday on the 14th....She didn't want a service but there will be a memorial Mass, soon...She was a special lady, one you don't find too often...Did so much for others over her lifetime and would not take any credit wanted to be the one behind the camera....
Her daughter has been staying with her and is still at the house so on the way back to the airport, I stopped...Didn't realize how hard it would be...But I told her daughter, I needed something and asked for a cup and saucer Gin had used...She never used a mug, always a china cup and saucer...So, I have her right with me, each day and will remember her forever.........

So far, I haven't been able to catch up but the one thing I remember being posted before I left was the love for bread pudding....That has to be one of the favorites in this house especially if it's made with lots and lots of raisins.....My neighbor informed me, she also likes it (a lot) and the next time, some better come her way....

No time to really chat, I'm off and running to a wedding....Kevin's son is doing it again....Their 1st wedding was cancelled because of covid so they did go to Seven Springs and have a small todo but they also were given credit at the 1st venue so they picked today...Of course, my sister and I both are not real good with directions so we might get there and we might not.......

So, hopefully, my dinner will be something special but if we get lost, it could be at a truck stop along the way.....

You all have a great rest of the day....

Happy eating................

Eagle Update......I was able to visit the nest in Florida and it was great...Then I get back home and we now have 1 egg in our nest near Pittsburgh......So exciting........................

Good afternoon one and all!

My uglies are done and all I need to do now is prep a macaroni salad. I find my macaroni salad tends to dry out, overnight, so I will assemble all the chilled prepped ingredients tomorrow. I am leaning towards making a lemon meringue pie for tomorrow as well. We will see what my mood is....

Dinner - my lasagna roll ups were OK, not enough sauce. I can remedy that for the leftovers tonight.

We are heading over to the church to drop off the bulletins for tomorrow's services. Then up to Sarah's so Michael can help with her electrical stuff for her new cabinet baking area. She had our handyman remove a useless, in the way closet- it just collected junk, and will be installing cabinets countertop, and shelves for a dedicated baking area.

Michael is waiting for me, need to go,
Hugs,
Jana

Yup! Late again. I get on my phone so early in the morning. Nobody posting yet. Then my day gets started and I forget to check back.
Supper/dinner over. Messy dishes and pots and pans in the dishwasher.
We had spaghetti tonight with salad.
Spent my day pondering over whether I will get air fryer/ toaster oven combo. Think I have decided, but will wait until I look up consumer reports, and such. I always think about things for awhile to make sure I am making a right decision.
Have a great evening. Wheel of Fortune coming on. We like that program.
HUGS, 💕 Vel
