SUPPER CLUB - Sat., Jan 15th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jan 15, 2022 5:04 am

Good morning,

January is already half gone! I really think once you are over the hill, you roll faster and faster down the other side!

Bill is still on the sick list. We still don't have our test results back but whatever this is really attacked his sinuses. And he's spent the last two nights up in his chair, coughing. I've got a pan of water simmering on the stove for steam, and I think we'll put in a curbside order at a pharmacy today for some Mucinex, Zinc, and Vit C. Not sure he is going to be able to leave come Tuesday, which is OK, just disappointing. And we'll need to change all our reservations we just made last week. As well as his dental appts in Algodones.

In more interesting news :D - I got Mr. Camel almost done yesterday. He is 44" x 23" so he's a big boy. I was able to cut out all the background pieces except for one large one in the "northeast" corner of the block. So he'll get nearly finished today and then all Starry Night stuff gets packed away. I figure I will probably get out my crazy quilt. I can still sew the rest of today and tomorrow. Monday will be laundry and making ready to leave - IF we leave. If we don't - then more time to sew!

LORI - I forgot you were doing Jen Kingwell's Long Time Gone pattern. I do enjoy her stuff. Are you going simply scrappy or a particular color or theme? Can't wait to see it. You almost make me want to get out my Gypsy Wife pattern again. But not quite. :D I love it - "Jack took you for a walk". That's how it is! Even Scottie, at 33#, is really strong and walks me sometimes!

VELDA - so glad all went well and thank you for letting us know. How do you 'rest your eye'? Patch? Nap? You will be back at your machine in no time!

JANA - How is Aaron liking his job after the first week - getting tased notwithstanding. I will be joining you in the laundry room one day very soon. Probably Monday morning. So, what's on your sewing table now? Didn't you say something about your JN a while back? Did you finish that? And what's with Michael's nighttime O2 still dropping?

For supper tonite I'm going to make a pepperoni pizza. I'll be cheating with a ready made crust. Unless Bill's appetite isn't up to it. Then it will be tomato basil soup and split a grilled cheese sandwich. I'll let him make the call.

Got any good ideas for your supper tonite?

Hi e
. Off to get my eye check up soon.
How do I rest my eye. Yes, a short nap. But mostly, just stay off phone. LOL
Tonight I am cooking creamed turkey on mashed potatoes. Leftovers from our recent turkey supper.
Thinking about making some old fashioned vegetable soup next week. Also hungry for my bean salad ( Texas Xavier) not sure about the spelling? Got the recipe from a friend.
That's all I know for today.
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Maryz - Sorry Bill is so sick, hope the results come back negative. I had great faith in your abilities to finish that quilt! Glad Foxy returned safely.

Lori - The quilt your group made for your Guild is adorable. Good job!

Vel - Your quilt is also quite lovely. Glad you have found a group to work with in your home.

Jana - I sure hope Sandee and Sarah are going to get through this pandemic. Glad to hear the schools are going virtual for a couple of weeks.

It is raining here this morning. We need the rain and I have finished running my errands. I was going to get the car washed, but that can and will wait!

Tonight's dinner will be chicken. We had pizza last night.

Mary, Jack takes me for a walk every morning. If it wasn't for him and Wrigley, I would think out many reasons not to go. This is a fun pattern, but lots of cutting of small pieces. Pizza sounds good.

Carol, Thanks. Betsy headed up the effort.

Vel, glad you eye is doing well.

Jana, I hope they can figure out the O2 issue for Michael. That must be frustrating for him.

I think I'll sew again today. I might vacuum prior. There seems to be a lot of dog and cat hair in my house.

Dinner I think will be Pizza, but I'm going to order it.

Lori 8-)

Good late afternoon!

Got the Raiders game on and it doesn't look good for a 49er Raider superbowl. Dinner tonight will be a sandwich and a bowl of soup. It's also a session of Stake Conference for us tonight. It will be broadcast so we will watch from home. I let my friend know I won't be there to visit with her due to us hiding until Michael has his booster. At least I can watch her as she gives her talk tomorrow. Our Stake President 's wife, who is also my good friend will be sitting with the friend I was hoping to see. The Stake President 's wife is passing on my greetings. Along with Sarah's, as she grew up with the other friend.

Sandee was able to get her booster shot yesterday. It was scheduled for next week, but her Dr got it for her yesterday. No signs of getting sick, a good thing! Plus, Sandee will be teaching remotely all of next week. Hopefully, it will be remote learning a second week as well.

All the rest of my tribe are doing well. Some of the grands got their booster shots last week. They will all be on remote learning from home.

Aaron is liking his new job. I keep seeing accidents on the freeway that he would have been on, and I am glad he's not! Kate starts her advanced training this week. Her fire captain is working around her school, covering the days she would be working. Fire is paying for the training and Kate will be done in May. She is supposed to get victims " - us - to practice on inserting IV's and shots. I am not one to volunteer . I don't get along well with needles! Sarah will have the little girls while Kate is at work or school.

Stay safe- get well, stay well!

Hugs,
Jana
