SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Jan 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:18 am

Good morning!

We're 64* this morning at 0500 and going to 82*. Nice. Yesterday we talked things over and decided we're leaving January 18th. Bill is getting dental work done in Algodones, Mexico over the border from Yuma on/about Jan 24 so we'll hold up in Yuma for 3 nights at least, and then home from there going up through California.

Yesterday I got the donkey done in my Starry Night. I'm using a dark blue background that looks like a starry night sky instead of the light background they used for their model of this pattern. And my donkey ears and tail, which are black, don't show well. But all in all, he turned out pretty well. Today, we're off on a few errands - one of them being the LQS. :D :D :D I also want to look for a pretty Mexican pottery piece to take home for our friends, Susie & Doyal, who have been keeping an eye on our place. He walks the property and even went inside to make sure the cold temps didn't freeze any pipes, though our water is shut off inside.

Our other friends rolled in yesterday and it was really nice to catch up with them. They live full time in their motorhome and bounce around the country, but are actually from Texas. They will be here for two weeks, too.

TINA - yes, summertime here is brutal with months of temps well over 100*. Even hotter than you. Glad Jaz's dental appt is behind her now. Is she all done? Bet you are glad to get that solar project started. Did you say you have to finish painting the house first? Or at least one side of the house? You won't have any trouble at all with this Starry Night pattern. I'm anxious to see yours when you get into it! Our Maytags are about 30 yrs old. We have a friend who used to be a repairman. He said don't get rid of them because appliances today are designed to fail after about 8 yrs so you have to buy new.

BECCA - I hope your 'weather' turns out to be not too bad. Last thing you need! But just in case, I'm glad you got all you need for the week.

LORI - your girls days out sound so nice. Did you buy anything fun while shopping or were you just window shopping?

CAROL - would love to visit Road to Ca one year, and especially to see your quilt hanging in such a place of honor, but it won't be this year.

We never got to our spaghetti last night. By the time we got back from Don & Linda's, it was too late to cook so we ended up with scrambled eggs. So maybe tonite will be spaghetti.

Good morning!
I only slept till 3:40 so I'm pretty sure I'll fall asleep sometime today LOL
Mary, I hope you're right about that pattern and me. 🤞
Jazmyne is all done with dentists until her 6 month checkup. She did great! She wanted me to watch Black Widow; a Marvel movie when we got back home, it was good.
I think our high is going to be 63° today LOL
I was hoping to get that side painted before the solar people started but Frankie didn't get the top part painted so now we have to work around things..... oh well. I really hope we can get that side painted ASAP! Guess I'm gonna have to hold his hand and take him out there to get him started.
No appliance lasts like they used to anymore, they design them that way, we've become a throw away society by companies doing that to us, sad.
Where is Irish? Has anyone heard from her?
We finally had that banned food last night and a salad.
Tonight I have a little steak thawing in the fridge and we'll either grill it with a baked potato and have a salad or I'll make fajitas out of it, I'll have to look and see what I have and that'll decide what I make.

Good afternoon!

We've been busy this morning. We took down and packed away all the rest of our decorations. All that needs to be finished is to carry it all down to the storage area in the Batt Cave. Also been doing laundry. It's getting to be cold and looks like snow clouds outside. Good thing to be inside.

Dinner - the banned cassarole was punted the other night, Ethan was here and found my box of orange chicken. He loves orange chicken, so we ate that with rice, extra sauce and green beans. So tonight will be the banned cassarole with lots of sauce and ooey melted cheese.

Mary - knew that ruler and pattern would not get the best of you. I saw it made with 5he light background and definitely think the dark will be much better. Hope the new LQS has lots of fun things!

Tina- with those new solar panels, birds love to nest under them between the panel and roof. It happened at Sandee's house and they had to add a screen to keep the birds out. It was a mess for awhile with all the birds and their calling cards 9n our cars and Sandee's roof.

Becca - I too love ham! Michael not so much, so I get me a small piece to enjoy.

Vel - that is a beautiful quilt. Sure to be enjoyed by someone.

Well, laundry needs to be changed and my last load put in.

Hugs,
Jana
