SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Dec 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 26, 2021 5:15 am

Good morning,

Did everyone have a nice day? We certainly did. We start out every early morning with a walk around the campground - about 1-1/4 miles. Then we did laundry. Texted family and found my Sis and my Bro were were also doing wash. We're a clean family! I cleaned a couple of closets and then we were off to Aut's for dinner and presents. She ordered a complete traditional dinner from the grocery store only the 'turkey' was a tofurkey rolled roast filled with stuffing. It actually was quite good. But it looks a bit weird so we just covered it with gravy and we were good.

Today starts Christmas take-down. Along with that, we need to empty out the huge storage area under out bed, dig out the tree box, and start de-decorating, re-organizing, and re-stowing. I also think we'll be making a short hit on the grocery store for a few re-stock items like toothpaste, dish soap, paper towels, vegetables and fruit. We're good on food, though. I also plan to give my new Oliso iron a bit of a workout this afternoon. :D

Tina, I want to hear all about how all your food went over and were they all surprised with new stockings??

Velda, I've never found the "manage drafts" option to work well. However, if you're working on your computer you can just leave it - overnight even. (We don't turn our computers off at night) Or you can copy and paste it into your computer notepad. I did this last night and everything was still in both places this morning. But on your phone, I think you are out of luck. Phones - and sometimes this site - can be cantankerous.

Carol, did your niece get her test results yet? I hope she's OK. Is she the daughter of your sister with the fx'd hip? You made the same error we make all too frequently - You said Autumn and Aaron instead of Antonio. Only it's not so bad when you say it! lol! I wish his name were Bob or Frank or anything but another "A".

JANA - I thought you had that iron! In fact, I think you bought yours during the same sale. I remember mentioning to Bill that "Jana got a new iron!" Thank you for leaving me one for Bill to buy! Bill ordered it and had it sent to Autumn. It's hard to trust it to lay down. I had to keep checking to see if it was scorching my ironing pad. At home tap water will be fine, but I have no idea what water here in TX is like. So I think I might use water from the gallon jugs of spring water we buy for the fur folk.

Becca - I think today is the day Denise is coming, right? I know you will enjoy her visit and she will leave you stocked with goodies!

Lori - what a terrible Christmas surprise to wake up to - and at 2am! Thank goodness your son heard it! But what a mess!. I hope you can get quick service with a repairman.

We're going to make ourselves a brunch after we do our morning chores and take down Christmas stuff. (it gets old after 3 weeks in a small confined space!) We bought an extra quiche and so will cook that and bacon. Tonite we're going to make pork fried rice. It's nice weather so most of our cooking will be outside.

How are you doing on your supper plan?

Mary, DS and DH are at Hope Depot seeing if they can find the parts. DS found the leak.
At least we still have hot water to do dishes. And we always keep a supply of bottle water for emergencies.

We had a low key Christmas day. Walked Jack up to see my dad. And I even watched "A Christmas Story." First time I've seen that movie. I already vacuumed the tile, need to do the carpet. We will take the boys to the park in a bit after they see if they can fix the leak.

Dinner will be leftovers.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning!

Church just ended and so has the snow for the moment. It will still snow off and on for several days thru this next week.

Not much here today. I once painted a plaster figurine of a Santa the day after Christmas. His feet were up in his recliner and he was fast asleep. Me today! I do have laundry running, as I didn't do it and I am out of clothes! Jeans and underwear are definite necessities!

Dinner will be our normal Sunday brunch. Except I am adding some sausage gravy today.

Michael has gathered all the boxes and paper for recycling and is separating the recycling from the rest. He will haul it out later.

All my Christmas stays up until after New Year's, but will be down before Daniel's BD on the 3rd.

Mary - even a 4ft tree would take up a lot of limited space in the RV. We are planning rearranging of things here too. A Michael project with my supervision.

Lori - hope the guys get all the parts and fix your sink themselves. It's hard to be without a sink!

Becca - happy Denise day tomorrow!

Well, we are waiting on seeing Sandee and Scott sometime today. They were walking over yesterday, but Scott's son and wife decided to drive up from central Utah for brunch. So that changed things around.

Stay safe! Don't do stupid things out on a freeway. Aaron just had to deal with a stupid person out to retrieve a camper shell and stepped in front of a moving semi. You know the outcome of that encounter. So sad.

Hugs,
Jana

Hi everyone!
I've been in here several times and kept getting side tract.
Mary, the sticking were a huge hit! Everyone loved them! They all were totally blown away! They really looked them over good and were just wowed ❀❀
I'd have me a 2' tree in an rv LOL
I'll have to do laundry in a day or so but nothing pressing right now πŸ˜‰
I totally understand the A names....I often have to catch myself not calling Adam a different A name πŸ˜œπŸ€£πŸ˜‚ but at least both your A names are nice names. πŸ₯°
Those irons really look neat on her videos.
Lori, have you watched The Polar Express? Christmas Vacation? (Don't watch it with kids around until you watch it and see if you'd want kids to be around LOL).... The Santa Clause? There's 1,2 and 3 of that.... al great movies! Home Alone 1 and 2? Jingle All the Way? Those are a few of my favorites. I watch bunches of Christmas movies. I also love A Christmas Carole. White Christmas. Holiday Inn. I could go on and on.
Becca, sounds like we might need that orange slice bread recipe ❀
Jana, I'm still waiting for you to share that snow of yours πŸ˜‰
Is Micheal back to 100% now?
Oh goodness that's a bad stupid person. The visual πŸ’”
Holly and the kids came over for lunch and leftovers. I cleaned the kitchen back up and was looking through a couple books for the January lotto and fell right to sleep LOL I only slept 15 minutes and was woke up. Oh well. I was up till midnight making sure Kevin, Maria and Matthew got home safely. They didn't leave till 10:30 and it takes an hour and 20 minutes from our door to theirs. We got everything in the kitchen cleaned up and stuff put back in my kitchen where it belonged.... we take out as much as possible because I have a tiny kitchen and it gives me more counter space by doing that. Plus we got all the trash picked up and stacked to be taken out first thing this morning... we woke up to a pretty clean house.
Supper will be leftovers tonight, it's Dad's night.
Tina
