SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Day!

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Dec 25, 2021 5:18 am

Merry Christmas to all you supper-eaters!

Yesterday was very nice. Autumn & Antonio were here for brunch and everything was super good. We had a good time. I asked them to go buy Bill a drill press for me for his Christmas gift. It was pretty hard for me to do it myself and sneak it down here in the trailer! So they brought it to us yesterday and Bill unwrapped it. He seemed quite pleased! So then he got out a gift for me that he'd ordered delivered to Autumn. (She really makes a good elf!). An Oliso iron! I mentioned a month ago how nice they looked and MSQC happened to have them on sale. Not long after that he got a text from MSQC that they had them on sale, only had 10 in stock, and did he want one. Never underestimate the listening power of our cell phones!

This morning after our showers we're going to do laundry because we figure no one else is going to be in the laundry room on Christmas morning. Then my DBIL texted that they are doing laundry, too! lol! We're going to Aut's at 2pm for dinner and presents. Not sure what supper will be - I fear tofurkey. Oh well. There will also be corn pudding, dressing, gravy, salads, and dessert. She invited us to bring anything else we wanted - like a ham or turkey. But that's OK. I doubt we'll be starting.

CAROL - I found your beautiful quilt on page 3, not 8, of the Fab Forties Swap thread. Your quilt is amazing!! And I love your unique setting. (Don't tell El, but I like yours better)

TINA - that is an impressive spread! You must be exhausted! But I bet everyone was happy to walk in on that! Funny about the ginger - usually it's used to settle a stomach, not upset it. How did the stockings go over? Or has that happened yet?

JANA - Ethan's gift to his mom is inspired! I bet she was happy! Lemon is my favorite - in case you ever need to know that . . .

BECCA - you have a busy weekend going on. Hope all your visits are fantastic, the food is wonderful, and CA weathers it well.

IZZY - thanks. I will tell my niece (and my hubby) what you told me.

Merry Christmas, all y'all!!

Merry Christmas!
Mary, yep cell phones, Google home things, all kinds of things listen. I just told Frankie they must find our house interesting with what we talk about LOL
Well if laundry needs to be done I'd say today would be a good quiet laundromat day.
I found Carol's quilt on page 8 where she said it was LOL it's a mystery how it's different for everyone.
Ginger ale settles my stomach. I wonder if it's the baking of it that changes something for me, it's weird LOL I'm weird who are we kidding 🤣😂🤪
Plans changed with Kevin and family, they didn't have anyone to go take care of their doggies last night so they went back home from her parents house. Everyone is supposed to be here about 10 this morning. All the stockings are hung or laid all over the goody table. I was exhausted but slept pretty good so I'm ready for another day.
I bet they'll be plenty of choices to fill up on at Autumn's. Janelle is a vegetarian and she fills her plate here, as far as I know she's never left hungry ❤ now if she was a vegan it would be a different story.
You all have a fantastic day, enjoy! Be Merry!
Tina

Merry Christmas to all our dinner pals!
OMG! I had my post all typed when our son called. Since we were enroute to our son's house for the day, I answered the call, but hit"save as draft" before I answered. But now, I go to " manage drafts" , and none was found. Must have missed a step in trying to save.
Oh well, nothing that special! But did want to say, I found Carol's beautiful quilt on page 8, too. I think the difference is in how we have our posts sorted: accending or desending.
Maybe not, but that might be the difference??
We will be arriving soon, so I need to get this posted before I loose it again.
Our menu for today was posted in Sew In. If you are curious, just pop over there for a visit this morning.
Hope your day you is filled with LOVE and JOY!!
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Merry Christmas to All the Supper Club!

Thank you for your wonderful comments. I am so glad you found the original post. I did post the finished quilt on the 23rd as well. I wrote Eleanor a note yesterday to tell her the quilt will be at Road. She is teaching several classes so hope she has time to see it finished and hanging!

Mary - You inspired breakfast for me. I made Turkey Sausage Quiche (BC Recipe) using a frozen pie crust. We had croissants and a fresh fruit salad (Strawberries, tangerine, blueberries and banana). It was a delicious breakfast. Glad you got a new iron. Enjoy your time with Aut & Aaron.

Jana - Ethan had a great idea and a wonderful helper with his plan! I love lemon as well (more than chocolate).

Tina - I need to go look at the picture you posted last evening. Bet it looks amazing!

Becca - Hope CA has a good day today and you enjoy some of your family.

Vel - Thank you for confirming I am not crazy with telling people page 8. You have a good explanation of why it may be appearing on a different page. Enjoy you dinner and time with your family!

DH and I will spend the day with one another. My vaccinated niece did get exposed to Covid and had to be tested yesterday. Hopefully it was negative so she could visit family.

Dinner today will be Turkey, mashed potatoes, broccoli, cranberry sauce, Waldorf Salad, and Green Salad. We will have ice cream and cookies for dessert.

Take care everyone and enjoy your family!
Merry Christmas!
Carol

Merry Christmas!

Just finished opening our gifts. Santa thought I needed to become more computer and embroidery savvy. He brought me a digitizing designs e program to make my own embroidery designs. Time will tell if it was a good thing. I am game at trying.

Mary - we have twin irons! And they both have the same name - Jenny! LOL! It says so on the side. Because of my hard water, I use a mix of bottled water and distilled - half and half. A word of warning, once you get used to not standing up the iron, any other iron you will leave flat and scorch things. I love my Oliso irons!

Last night dinner was cooked perfectly by my kids. Then the program was wonderful too. Watching each one perform the instrument they play was the best Christmas gift ever for this old grandma! Even my 3 1/2 year old Lila contributed on her own, singing Christmas carols she knew, without being asked, she just did!

Dinner - a pumpkin pie will get made today for Michael. Just two small individual ones - his favorite. Other than that, it's unknown.

Enjoy the day, Christmas is wonderful. And we can learn to let God prevail in our lives.

Hugs,
Jana

Happy Christmas everyone.

Jana, so did Sarah like her pie pan and pie?

Carol, your quilt is so pretty, and your quilting is really good. So happy for you to have it at Road2CA this year.

Mary, They call them smart phones for a reason. Glad you got the iron. Everyone I know that has one, love it. Hope you will too.

Well our morning started out with a bit of a flood at 2am. Our water system under the sink broke and water was flowing at full capacity. Luckily my son woke up and heard it before it got too out of hand. Bill and I were sound asleep and didn't hear anything. We spent about 45 minutes sweeping water out to the patio from the kitchen floor. I got soaked getting to the shut off under the sink, but I got it off and then Bill got to the main shut off. It's only the cold water, so we still have water. We'll have to wait until Monday to call the water filtration company. Plumbers don't usually deal with R/O systems and would just disconnect it.
I couldn't go back to sleep, so I'm a bit tired today.

We had a nice dinner last night with the kids. I have a chicken in the oven that I'll use to make an enchilada pie with later. But for now, I think I need a nap.

Hope you all are having a wonder Christmas day.
