Alaskan silhouette sampler
Here is my Alaskan quilt for my Alaskan brother. It measures 65 x 85. The batting will be wool and the backing will be a large plaid heavy flannel in the blue and green colors of the border. Quilting will be wild animals - bear, deer, moose, wolves, etc - in dark blue thread.

What a beauty! The attic window borders are great. Really accents the blocks nicely.

Thank you, all!
LORI, the pink flower is fireweed, so named because it often is one of the first things to grow after a fire. It grows from 2 to 4 feet tall and is all over the state. It blooms from bottom to top of the stalk and Alaskans say that when the top floret dies, snow is 6 weeks away. My brother sent a photo this summer of his fireweed - a long beautiful row lining the length of his driveway. We have some in our yard, too, but try to disregard the snow legend!

Beautiful!!! I love the border fabric. I was tempted to buy the pattern, but tell myself I better get some other projects done first.
