SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Sept 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Sep 03, 2021 6:30 am

Good morning,

How is everything in your world this morning? We are 54* but still a little chilly to sit on the deck, even in my fleece robe. I don't get dressed in the mornings until I'm ready to go for my walk, which is always after I post here. If I get dressed, Scottie gets excited and won't leave me alone. And Foxy won't leave me alone until I follow him back to the sewing room where I'm supposed to watch him eat (he checks on me out of the corner of his eye to make sure I'm doing it!), then pet him until he's happy, and then tuck him into his basket for his first nap of the day. Guess who runs our household!!

Yesterday I finished Spell Dancer (except for label but that will come soon). I posted a photo if you'd like to see . . Today I hope to make another LOTR block. The afternoon will be purrfect to do a few outside chores I've still got left. I have big flower pots to empty and put away, and yard art to bring in, wash, and store for winter. It's going to be about 75* today so the weather will be great for this.

TINA - How is the black/white stitching going? And you got rain! Is it over now?

VELDA - are you done assembling yet? You must be ready to move on to other fun things by now!

BECCA - I do bet your errands piled up. Though I wouldn't mind a fresh bread errand! My SIL had to do all the errands, too. And the last year or two, Jim couldn't be left alone so she either took him along to ride shotgun or we went over to hang out with him, or Bill took him someplace more enjoyable for him - John Deere dealer, gun shops, truck shop, etc. It was always a 'dance'.

JANA - that's pretty sweet to watch Lila in nursing mode! Glad Ethan is doing OK. Don't want any infx to set in! My LOTR a masterpiece? We'll see. I've only done a few blocks so far and they were the 'easy' ones. Some of the ones coming down the pike at me look awfully daunting. My sis says this may be the project that pushes me over the edge. lol! And she's most likely right! I'm glad your Michael can keep his hand in. By the time the young engineers have 50 years in, they will also probably be shaking their heads about what the newbies don't know.

CHICKIE - So great to see you here! I'm so sorry you're still having your 'episodes'. I keep hoping to hear of a day when you report not being a dizzy blond! Happy almost half birthday to Mr. Bert! And hugs to Timi. I love that I got to meet her in person, feed her apples, and pet her pretty cow nose!

Our supper tonite is going to be leftover chicken and pasta. Though we'll probably be making new pasta. And salad. And don't tell Bill but I'm going to sneak some broccoli in there somewhere - in the salad or in the pasta. Just little bites that aren't worth him trying to pick out.

What's the supper story at your house?

Good morning!
Mary, Spell Dancer turned out gorgeous!! You do awesome work and I know that LOTR will be the same!
I just finished my Christmas blocks! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 on to the Halloween blocks now! That'll be my black on black LOL 👀
I think we're having breakfast for supper tonight. I just need to make sure Jazmyne likes that.....I'm pretty sure she does. If nothing else I know she loves pancakes, waffles and sausage. I don't think she's a big egg eater.

Good morning!

Ethan will be here after school. It's their short day and Sandee will bring him home. Sarah had to go chase down some work stuff and won't be back in time to pick Ethan up at school. So we will bake some cookies for an after school snack. The other night Sarah needed to check a address here in town for a sod delivery. No way could the sod semi get up the dirt gravel road, hairpin turns and it was at least a 15% grade. Sarah informed the customer that she could leave the sod down where the garbage cans are - about 3 miles down the hill from the house. Customer argued that other trucks do that grade all the time. Sarah just politely said, she would not put her drivers in that danger. It was a scary road!

Dinner- I did chicken and gravy last night, so there will be a rerun. I forgot I salted the rice as I browned it, so halfway through, I add more salt. Boy it was salty! The rice was pitched to the trash! So tonight will be mashed potatoes and I will pay attention to the salt!

Not much else here. I will sew, while Ethan does homework catch up.

Stay safe!
Huge,
Jana

Good afternoon! Here I am again. It's a quiet day here. The rain we were supposed to receive fizzled out at about a tenth of an inch, although more was forecast. Of course, the temperature didn't drop, and now we are in a steam sauna! We keep getting cheated on the moisture here. The pastures are getting crispy brown, and the cows would certainly appreciate some green grass.

Tomorrow I'm planning to venture out on my own and meet my friend for coffee and drop by my sister's to see her. They have been remodeling their kitchen, and I haven't seen it/her in several months. There is a quilt show in my DD's town that I usually go to, but I'm not pressing my luck this year. Next year has to be better!

Becca, I wondered how the hurricane would affect you. Those muffins sound amazing !!!

Jana, I'm sure the "customer" didn't have a clue about the weight of a sod truck as opposed to most other trucks that navigated the dirt lane. Since my brain got scrambled, I have made lots of the too much salt errors. I made my fluffy biscuits a few weeks ago and ended up with hockey pucks after I left out the baking powder. They were beyond hardtack.

Mary, your latest dancing quilt is awesome! I had to cuddle Boomer when the thunder rumbled today. The babies are definitely spoiled at both our houses!

There really isn't much happening here. I'm playing with scraps and trying to get my sewing room cleaned up and organized so I can get started on Christmas sewing. I have 2 First Christmas quilts to make this year.

Dinner is to be determined. It may be red beans and rice with kielbasa. We haven't had it for awhile. I also have fresh spinach to wilt.

Bon appetit!

I am late....again! Boy, it has been a busy day! Husband's b-day was Sept 1. Wanted to treat him to breakfast out, but since Wednesday is out eating out night, he didn't want to eat that much. We couldn't go yesterday, as we were determined to finish the assembly project. I am pleased to report that, yes, we are done. For now, until I take a whim to buy a small desk. ??
Not for awhile.
So this morning we went off to the bigger town where there is more places to shop. Breakfast was great! Then, Harbor Freight for DH, Walmart Supercenter, for me. Bought fabric to approach adding 6-8" for width of my Crazy Covid Quilt that I finished last winter.
Along with that I found shelf unit and a plastic three drawer unit all for my sewing area.
I will work on organizing that space tomorrow.
Then we stopped at Goodwill and I found a beautiful mirror to hang above the sofa. Also found another picture for the wall in living room.
Yesterday afternoon I worked at repurposing a wicker piece that I had in the camper. About twenty years ago when I was working I had splurged on this beautiful floral wall hanging sold at a floral/craft store. It was a bit expensive, but I was working and I treated myself. It moved with us three times.
When I had a new remodeled kitchen with new white cabinets, I took it all apart, painted the wicker to match our new kitchen. Sorry this is getting boring ... Long story even longer, it went with us to the RV. I just had to figure a way to use it here in the condo. Just too much history for me. DH could care less, LOL.
In our RV bedroom, I had two hummingbird figurines that were mounted with Velcro. Came down with each travel and put back up when we settled in each place. Those also just had to come to condo.
I learned Paper tolling in Texas, so I made small pictures for the RV. Those too needed to find a home here. I will edit this later and add a picture of what I have been busy with today.
Supper is my leftover taco stuff, we make taco salad in a bowl each to our own favorite tastes
Sorry if I bored you all. 🤗
