Hello Everyone:
I finally made it out to ship the Halloween blocks. My USPS tracking number is 9505 5148 6969 1238 4234 42. The estimated arrival date is Monday, August 30th. I've enjoyed seeing all of the creative blocks. I'm cheering everyone on!!

We got a notice of a package at our mailbox - just an hour after I'd been there and picked up the mail! But Bill will check again this morning. Maybe it's more blocks? Several of you said yours were in the mail, plus it could be the mailing envelopes we ordered . . . Can't wait to see!
If you haven't check in in a while, this weekend would be a great time! How are you all doing? We still have a little over a month before time to mail. Lots of time!

I have all my fabric laid out staring at me and my fusible. I'm hoping to be finished with my Christmas blocks Monday or Tuesday and get into these puppies. Yesterday's lightening storm cut off about 5 hours of opportunity sewing for me. I'm hoping by next weekend to have all my Halloween shapes fused and cut

It's like Christmas here! It's snowing Halloween blocks! Mary Q, Lori, and MaryGo, your blocks are here! And what great blocks they are! Thank you for participating! We have such a great group of swappers!
Valerie? - double sided fusible? I'm sure you really do know what you're going but just in case you or anyone else needs a refresher (and since it's fresh in my mind because I just used up an entire bolt of fusible on my Christmas and Halloween blocks), Trace your pattern on the paper side of the fusible. Don't forget to reverse if necessary. Cut it out, leaving about 1/8", fuse to WRONG side of fabric (I've made THAT mistake more than once!
), hold dry iron in place about 6-10 seconds. Let cool and cut out on drawn lines. Then you can fuse to your background, and topstitch.
A few hints:
#1. if you have a fairly large piece of fusible, after you trace it and cut it out (but BEFORE you fuse it to fabric) you can cut the center of the drawn figure out and save that bit of fusible for a smaller piece.
#2. To make removing the paper easier, score it with a pin.
#3. If you are working with a lot of pieces in your block I found it easier to fuse my entire figure (like my owls) together on a teflon pressing sheet before fusing to my background. But that's just me . .

Re: HALLOWEEN SWAP! Blocks due at my house by OCTOBER 7TH
Oh my. Mary has had to hunt me down. She said I hadn’t posted since June 24th

Aside from therapy for the Femoral Nerve being pinched I am good and Rob is doing well.
Time does get away from me when we have to go to Dr and therapy appts. I had no clue it had been this long.
I absolutely LOVE, ADORE these Splendidly SPOKEY blocks!! You have definitely shown your creative sides and stitched them for many to Ooooogle over. This is most definitely another Spencer (grandson) quilt.
I’m not going to lie. I haven’t started mine yet. I am still working on my Christmas Blocks. When I saw this block I just LOVED the character of it. I just had a slow start to paper piecing even though I had done it before. I am on a roll now and they will be in the mail on the 9th or hopefully
before.
My Halloween block isn’t a hard one. Comes from cutting and sewing 3 strips so I have no doubts I will get it there on time. Might be very close though.

Re: HALLOWEEN SWAP! Blocks due at my house by OCTOBER 7TH
Teresa, glad to see your post.
Time does have a way of getting away from us! I am just glad you are OK. Actually, It was July 24 not June. This swap wasn’t up in June. Also, I hope your planned mailing date of October 9 is a typo. They need to be to me no later than October 7th. So you will need to have them in the mail on or around October 1st.
But this is a good reminder to everybody. We still have A little over four weeks sewing time left , but time does have a way of flying by.
