Chilly here - 52* this morning. So I'm sitting inside, looking out as I type. And I've been keeping track of sunrise and sunset hours. I was right - we're losing 4 min a day. However, the good news is that it's only 115 days until we start going the other way!
I finished my Spell Dancer quilt yesterday, got the backing pieced and it's now draped over the LA, waiting for Bill to load it this morning, which he said he will do. This process usually takes him about 2 hours. There is no hurrying him. Then he goes into the office to start looking for his computerized quilting pattern. Lots of squirrels in his office so who knows what he's actually doing in there. Then he needs lunch and a nap after the hard morning he's put in. When he wakes up he has to check out all his computer/phone stuff again. After that, he calls happy hour. I beat my head against the wall sometimes, but keep quiet. Oh, and Stihl products go on sale today so he's off to Tacoma as soon as that Hardware store opens this morning to buy his new weed-whacker and a new backpack blower that he decided he also wants. With new toys like that, I may not see him for a few days!
We also did half of our Costco shopping. The rest of our list is in Sept's coupon book. Then we stopped at CVS pharmacy for flu shots. After coming home we put everything away and then I cleaned my sewing room. Today I need to do some uglies and finally bake that zucchini bread. My grandson, Drew, is coming tomorrow and he and "Pop" are going shooting and Drew is bringing me some sketches of a quilt he wants me to design and make for him. Queen size as he bought a new bed. I can't wait to see what he has in his head. He wants mountains and also a character from a video game or book series - not sure which. So we'll see . . . . I'm crossing my fingers that there is a fabric line of that character.
BECCA - I'm glad to hear CA is up to sitting up for a haircut! I hope he's starting to feel better after his oral surgery. And what a fun windfall to get new clothes! See? What goes around comes around - you donated a lot of your clothing to people who lost theirs, and you were rewarded with new clothes for yourself!

CAROL - I always am happy to see you at the table! You're such a good cook! I didn't know there was a new Jungle ride and Snow White ride at DL. They would be fun to go on. I think. I'm not a roller coaster fan but I like most of the others. (I do like Thunder Mtn, probably because it's inside). I was wondering if I would need a second avocado plant to get fruit. But I don't have one. At least not now. But I have avocados in my fruit bowl! Maybe I could 'make' one.

JANA - Oh, I would really enjoy seeing the Harry Potter thing. I loved those fun stories. And it was really bugging me - Christmas Ribbons. I couldn't find my quilt but I thought sure I'd made it. Then I found a picture of it. So I knew it had to be somewhere and I went scavenging again this morning and there it was, buried under my 16 other Christmas quilts. (and I've given some Christmas quilts away!). Whew! Now my mind can rest. And I did pull out my Better Not Pout book. Looking at those stockings. So far, just looking. Do not tempt me, woman! I have other things I need to be doing. I can't be distracted by them right now. Though, maybe just one . . . . after all, they're small . . .

VELDA - isn't it nice to have leftovers to work with on those nights when you've had a hard day building furniture and you don't really feel like cooking . . .

TINA - That was kind of freaky about your storm. Was it predicted? Sorry you had to shut down your sewing room. This is where hand sewing comes in handy - always something to sew! That is really bad news about all the recent violence. It's the same here and in fact they just did a news story on it. Shootings, lootings, assaults everywhere. Across the country. This is what happens when you defund the police, decriminalize many drugs, and relax the border restrictions.
DH loved dinner last night - I shredded some of my leftover pork roast, mixed it with wild rice and a creamy sauce. He loves those kinds of meals. I was planning it, but before I told him my plan, that's what he asked for! But I still have some roast left so now I'm back to the drawing board. Enchilada casserole maybe. . .
What are you thinking about?
