SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Aug 24

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Aug 24, 2021 6:40 am

Good morning,

Three more degrees and we would be in the forties this morning! I'm kind of done with summer, but not ready for forties yet! Our afternoons are nice, though. I worked outside for a few hours yesterday and will again today. And as I go through the yard, I think I'll gradually start picking up my summer yard art and putting it away. A little early, but as long as I'm futzing around out there I might as well do it now instead of in 3 more weeks. I also got more done on Spell Dancer. This is my fourth time making this pattern, yet it's always like a new one and always has a few head-scratching parts.

CAROL - great story of what your group is doing with quilts. It's a real feel-good feeling to be able to make a difference with our craft.

JANA - I love, love that towel! Do you know it would sell for about $15 here in the home decor area of our Ace Hardware? You'd be rich!

BECCA - glad you got in some porch sitting time yesterday. And had sweet company to boot!

IRISH - glad you finally picked up your mail! Now you'll never know I mailed it late! lol! How is Tim doing today? Joint replacements have almost become day surgery now! When you mentioned Portland, I was thinking you meant Portland, Maine since you are much closer to that Portland, but you meant Oregon, didn't you?!

TINA - you called it! Cold meat loaf sandwiches here last night. Bill was quite happy. And there was enough left for one more . . .

I'm still thinking about tonite. It's supposed to be about 75* and sunny today so we should grill. Probably burgers. And maybe some baked beans to go with.

What sounds tempting to you tonite?

Good morning!

Mary - those towels are fun and easy. Just change thread and push button. My way of sewing, sometimes. I think I am ordering some more towels for my girls too.

Dinner- came up from the Batt Cave and looked at the time and it was too late to start our meatloaf dinner so punted that until tonight. We did soup and a egg salad sandwich. I will assemble dinner and later this afternoon use the delay start function of my stove, then we can eat around our normal time.

I did get the Christmas Ribbons pattern ordered. Can't wait until it is here.

No uglies staring at me, no laundry either, playtime!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning!
Mary, I'd love your temperatures! Already picking up yard art? You know you'll be doing more putzing around in the coming weeks
out there too LOL
I bet Spell Dancer is gorgeous! Do you have a quilting pattern in mind for it yet?
Jana, your towel is soooooo pretty! Thank you for showing me! I ordered some of those towels from Amazon to make for Christmas gifts too 🥰
I've just been asked to be the assistant, I'll try to get back here to finish my post.

Becca - the machine does most of the work. All I have to do is wait for the beep and change the thread to the next color that the machine wants in the program. I re-thread the machine each time with the new color - wait and cut what I call jump threads - the thread that goes between certain sections. It is just easier to do it as the machine uses that color - makes a cleaner front appearance. So I babysit, waiting for the beep, change thread and go and do something else at my desk. I can turn around and do what the machine needs and then back to something else.

Having this embroidery machine is so much fun. I even have a pattern for Counted Cross stitch Santas that my machine will make for me. I just need to get brave and try it out.
