Supper Club. Monday, August 16

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Aug 16, 2021 5:51 am

Good morning!

Yesterday was productive for me. I picked six more cups of blackberries And got them in the freezer. Then we did all the upstairs uglies done, a few tacoma errands, and I had a couple hours of sewing until friends called and asked us to meet them for Mexican dinner. This we did with leftovers for today. Not sure if they will be lunch or supper. Today will be dental appointment for Bill. Next stage of getting an implant. Then downstairs uglies plus some sewing.

We haven’t had any rain for two months. Seattle got enough drops last week to measure About 2/100 of an inch. They hogged it all for themselves. Some of our rhododendrons may not make it despite our watering efforts.

Vicky was in fine fettle yesterday. As usual on Sunday morning, her son came by with bags of groceries. At least we always assume it’s groceries he carries in. And he leaves as quickly as he can. Shortly after he left her garage door went up and things came flying out of the garage - boards, folding chairs, coolers, just “stuff“. Then soon we saw more, smaller items come flying out of her kitchen window at the back of the house. Probably containers of food as she “cleaned“ the fridge to put new groceries in. We have two different Boondockers staying with us this week – Wednesday night and Thursday night. They will be parking about 50’ from all that mess. Despite our explanations, I wonder what they will be thinking….

Irish – happy birthday! Was that meatloaf dinner and cake at your sisters last night in your special honor? I hope you have a wonderful day full of surprises. I did get you a birthday card. It’s safe and sound sitting on our dining room table. 😆

Tina, hope you get a stay home day today. I love being home, more and more as the years go by.

Velda, we all know where you will be today! As I type(dictate on Phone) your walk-through appointment starts in about 15 minutes

Becca, good to hear the twins are doing great. Isn’t their second birthday coming up shortly? I remember they were born in August but supposed to be Thanksgiving babies.

We still have some kielbasa in the fridge so if I cook tonight it will be jambalaya. Or we may eat our restaurant leftovers. We will see how Bill‘s dental appointment goes. Maybe dinner will be soup for him

Good morning!

Irish - I missed your BD? How slothful of me! Hope it was wonderful!

Mary - glad your sister missed all the fun here! Hope all your boondocks have a great time at your place. A place to stay and entertainment. They will understand Vicki, I am sure.

Dinner will be a take out from a restaurant near by. It has been featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. A specialty is a huge meatball, smothered in Sunday Gravy, over pasta. Michael will probably lean toward a Caesar chicken salad wrap, a favorite of his. With all the fire smoke, we will bring it home here. I have cheesecake for dessert.

It will be a homebody day here. Playing in the Batt Cave. Michael has a railroad project he wants to work on.

Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon from a semi dreary, semi drizzly day...But, no matter the rain, it's still a super day....Kevin called early this morning to tell me, they were working on his deck so of course I had to grab my shoes and run over...He's been waiting months, had the material but needed the workers....OH my, what a difference, it's not wood and I have no idea what the material is but it's gorgeous...Now, he said, he'll have to get new furniture..Next, he's going to get new siding and roof.....I was hoping to kidnap 1 or 2 of the workers, bring them home with me and have them do my roof that I've been waiting for months......But, 1 day, it will get done......

Mary, thank you for the birthday wishes and yesterday's dinner was absolutely delish! And of course, I brought home leftovers for tonight's dinner....I had never heard about the boondocks until you posted but what a great idea....As Jana said, comfy place to stay complete with entertainment....

Jana, Happy Anniversary and you didn't miss my B'day, it's today...39 twice +6, yikes, I'm old! Your dinner sounds super...I love to visit some of those 3 "D" places, some unusual food...I tease my sister about our last visit when we were in California...They had a life size cut out of him in the hallway outside the Ladies room and my sister came out and almost had a heart attack...Of course I took her picture and she has her kids believing it was him in person......Enjoy your dinner.......

My phone has been buzzing since 7:00 this morning and the neighbors have been stopping in...One of my nephew's wives stopped in and brought flowers...If it didn't mean getting older, I'd have birthdays more often.......

Left overs for my dinner (unless I get a better offer).......

You all have a great rest of the day....................

Happy eating...................

Hi everyone, I'm late again.
Mary, I hope your campers understand. I hope Bill is feeling up to eating.
Jana, I loved watching that show! We don't get it anymore though bummer.
Irish, happy happy birthday!
Becca, already turned 2! That really came quick!
Lois, how are things at your house?
We really need prayers for my aunt who got the variant covid, she's not doing good at all and her sister told me they don't think she's going to make it 😭😭💔💔💔 she did have both her vaccines when they became available because she's immunocompromised.
We have more sad news, Kevin's Dobie has parvo 💔 they're hoping she'll be ok but she's had to be on IV's and being given all kinds of meds. She stays in their property in her own 8' tall fenced in yard that sits in the center of their 3 acre property but a couple of the neighbors dogs went through there Thursday and I guess they touched noses through the fence. I sure hope she makes it. She's very upset with Kevin for leaving her at the vet today, as you can see in the pic. She won't look at him even. 🥺 He has to take her back in the morning because they don't have overnight people.
We had ham, mac and cheese and squash for supper.
Tina

Tina, so sorry about your aunt. Hope she pulls though. Also, the poor dog. I don't know much about Parvo, but hope it's curable.
