SUPPER CLUB - Monday, June 28

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jun 28, 2021 5:56 am

Good morning,'

Doesn't it seem like only a few weeks ago we were huddled around fireplaces and wood stoves, wishing for warmer weather?? I guess we need to learn what to wish for!! We are going to about 109* today. Seattle is forecast 113*. I've been wearing my little spaghetti strap slip nightie for 2 days. (You don't want to know what I've been wearing the last 2 nights! - ) Hopefully, we just have one more day of this. Tomorrow should be "only" about 90*, give or take. My younger sis and her DH are driving from CO to KS and NE today. I never thought I'd be envious of that drive in summer!

Yesterday we closed up the house at 8:30. It will be earlier today. We watched a movie in the afternoon and I cross stitched. That was our day! Making supper at 0700 on the camp stove was a brilliant idea. All we did was nuke it come evening. And there's enough for tonite, too.

JANA - well, is more construction going to start today? They aren't cutting those ceiling tiles inside the house, are they? Can you sew at all today?

LORI - did you get your wall hanging top finished? How will you quilt it?

VELDA - you are off to home today after a stop to drop a vehicle at the airport, right? See? I pay attention. :)

Today won't be much different than yesterday. We can sit on our deck until it reaches about 90 - which will be about 10am. Then we'll go to our downstairs family room which is 10* cooler than upstairs living room. I'll stitch, we'll probably watch another movie. Our fur boys keep giving us accusing glances as if we are doing this to them.

So tonite, it's going to be Pork fried rice and salad again. I added peas, diced carrots, onions, and water chestnuts. And just now realized I forgot that scrambled egg we talked about! lol! Oh well. It was still delish.

What is your favorite hot weather meal?

Good morning!

No construction today, just uglies. Ethan called and came down to the house for the day. He was hungry and didn't like the choice of cereal at his house. He said I have better cereal. I made him scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese on a toasted English muffin. He is happy! He is also helping me with uglies.

Dinner - grilled burger on a ciabatta roll. Heating up the grill outside won't matter to the heat already out there.

Not much else here.

Hugs,
Jana

Jana, that sounds like a nice breakfast. I'll come over to your house too. lol

Mary, the heat is on. My goodness that is hot. We put A/C in our house about 12 years ago. Before that we just lived through it. The thing I hates most about the heat, is that our bedroom wouldn't cool off. So sleeping was not good. Hope you get a break soon. I finished the top, but it's not quilted. I'll have to think about how I want to do that.

Will do a little cleaning up today and then sewing. The last few days were supposed to get hot, but only made it to 84* which is really nice. We have the house open, and we get a nice breezy thoughout.

Dinner is still up in the air. Maybe orange chicken.

Have a lovely day.

Lori 8-)
