Good morning!
Another travel day today. But we are refreshed, loaded with sweet oranges, and ready to hit the highway. 350 miles to our destination for the night, Colusa Casino in Colusa, CA.
Yesterday we let Foxy out for a while. It was still dewey out and his paws got muddy. We put him back in when we went for a walk and when we came back I had little muddy paw prints all over my new Crosstitch project. . My own fault, I left it laying on the table. I had to un-attach it from the leaders of my frame and soak it in soapy water for a while. I got most of the stains out. I hadn’t done much stitching on it yet so the thread will cover what I wasn’t able to remove. Moral of the story is, never trust an angry cat! I swear, he did the Watusi on that new white aida cloth.
Lois, such A bummer that appliances aren’t made to last anymore. Even when they are still new. Nice of you to do the kids’ laundry for them. How far away do they live from you?
Chriss, that table runner is going to be so cute. I like those snowmen better than most any I’ve ever seen.
Izzy, so sorry to hear you are hurting again. And that your DH is down and out as well. Hope you are both feeling better today
Judi, I bet it feels good to see something finished enough that you can finally move into your new pantry and storage area! How is Ken feeling with his tooth?
Diane, how is the foot today?
Flo, does the entire house need new drywall? Or just parts of it?
Jana, See, I knew you’d do good! You movie star, you! I bet your hair looks pretty.
The predicted bad weather that caused us to choose The longer, southern route home finally hit. My sister has 6 inches of snow. There is snow in many of the areas we just drove through. Even in Austin! Yesterday was Autumn‘s birthday and she sent us pictures of herself in the front yard of her house in snow. Where we had just partied and decorated her tree and had brunch! We got out just in time!
Take care, stay healthy, be happy

Good Monday Morning
Jeeze it's cold out there this morning! Burr....34* is cold for the Houston area.
I had a in the kitchen weekend. Made lemon pies.. Trader Joes carries the Meyer Lemons this time of year so juiced a bunch for the freezer and also made a few pies. DGK love them. I use whipped cream for the top. Also made 106 3 1/2 inch square in a squares for a border on my latest quilt. Talk about time consuming!
Well, I need to make coffee and get ready to run DGD to school.... ya'll have a wonderful day.

Good morning!
We are at 16 this morning and no snow. A kind of a not fair, if I am this cold, we need something pretty to look at and snow covers up all the ugly brown lawns. Oh well......
A small amount of uglies and playing in the Batt Cave. Today is Stu's BD. My oldest grandson is now 24. Laws of physics are broken, how can he be 24, when I am only 24! LOL!
Sarah built a great ironing table, using a IKEA cabinet . She can roll it out from under her counter, use it and then put it back, out of the way. So she will do the same for me here in the Batt Cave. It will be on the desk side of my sewing area. I have about 13 feet of space, which will have my desk, cabinets and room for someone else to sew. So one of my cabinets will be my ironing cart. Able to roll out, be used and put away. My sewing area will have plank flooring and then is finished! Taken a few years of planning and use, but I think I finally have it the way I want. Trial and error in cabinet placement, but all the cabinets were movable, so if it didn't work the way we thought, we could still change them around.
Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Morning
The entire house needs drywall. Its a small house only 850 square feet. A small 2 bedroom. Contractors can do it quicker than we can. They will also mud, tape and texture.
Same old same old here.

Good morning all
I have had some trouble doing house cleaning chores as well as sewing those older blocks together. My back just throws fits. The older blocks are from the first Jennifer Chiaverini sew along. all 6.5 inch blocks. I do not remember who led this . but was wondering if anybody got theres done. I led the next one and finished the quilt Snow Happens which I love. The reason I do not like this one is I am loosing a lot of points. I also took several sashing strips off because I did not like the corner stones. So I am working diligently whenever I can to get her done. I will make a utility quilt out of it. Just do not want to waste the blocks or the time I put into finishing blocks.
Lois I can not wait to see your table runner.
Maryz Sorry about cat tracks But I know what the little darlings can do. Scooby took off with part of above quilt yesterday I found it in living room. A whole row. lol O f course Scooby not small kitty. He weighs 12.5pounds. Do you think someone is trying to tell me to forget it lol
Sue I have never had a lemon pie made with Myer lemons. But sounds so good.
Jana I say that about my DGD How did she get my age. LOL
Well I need more coffee then will try to get a couple of rows of blocks sewn together
You all have a great sewing day
Katy

Good Morning Girls
Sorry I missed you all yesterday.... I stared at the computer for a few minutes, then decided I really didn't have much to say... and it was 11:00am and I really needed a shower So got butt in gear, showered and started laundry.
Lois... How nice of you to do laundry for the kids.. My Mom loved to do laundry for some odd reason and tho it's not my favorite thing... I don't mind it... and I am one of those weird people that loves to iron... Was tempted to "take in" shirts for ironing once upon a time...
Maryz.... I googled Colusa so I can see where you will be tonight....Aren't you glad you decided to take the slow route.... and that you got out of Texas before the snow hit there!!! It's a hoot that Texas is getting the snow and I am not! So glad too that you took an extra day to relax... That darn cat!!!!
Sue.... You had me at "whipped cream"!!!
Judi.... Doesn't it feel great to have a least one part of the re-do DONE! And now the best part is.... you can get back to sewing!
Jana.. .. Happy Birthday to Stu!!! It's my Jen's birthday too.. only she's 42.... and how am I am old enough to have a 42yo DD! And oh how I'd love to be 42 again.... of course knowing what I know now!
Flo.... Once the walls are up and painted etc... how long till the kids can move in?
Katy..... Sounds like you are putting your "ripper" to good use.... NOT fun though right? Sorry you're still having trouble with your back...
Finished up another small little lap quilt on my UFO list (it's the black and pink one I posted under the UFO contest topic) So today I think I'll put another one from the pile... a smaller one and see how far I get. Last night while watching TV I decided to sort through all my 2.5" strips... thought I'd do something scrappy with them... but It's so hard for me to think scrappy with colors... things have to "go with" for me.... like I can't put certain colors together.. they have to "blend" or what ever.. you know what I mean? So I'm back to square one trying to decide what to do with a tote box full of strips! Some I have like 8 or 9 WOF pieces that I think I'll hang on to use for bindings.. but the rest are odd pieces. I'm sure open to suggestions!
Time to crank up the music and get in gear... one more load of laundry to do so will head down and do that and plan my next UFO to-be-done!
Wishing you all a most wonderful Monday

Re: Monday January 11,2021
Good morning all! Haven't been here for a couple of days so was behind on what everyone was doing. Went and got my haircut the other day. It was so long I couldn't stand it anymore. Now is very short. Starting to take down the Christmas stuff. Doug and Chris brought in my containers so now I have to get everything down, wrapped and packed away. It is more fun putting it up than taking it down. Not much going on here. No snow but cold windy weather.
Izzy - So sorry you are hurting with your torn scar tissue. Hope you heal soon.
Maryz - Have a safe trip traveling. Sounds like you are having fun. Glad you got out of Texas before the snow.
Sue - Sounds like you were busy in the kitchen. I do love lemon pie, but haven't made one in a long time. Need to make some chocolate chip bar cookies since I have so many chips to still use. Didn't do my plates for the neighbors this year for Christmas. Just really couldn't get in the mood. Hope next year we are back to a normal Christmas.
Lois - So sorry their dryer broke. I had to replace my fridge this summer, but the old one lasted about 15 years so can't complain. Nowadays things don't last quite as long.
Katy - So sorry about your bad back.. Take it easy.
Lori - Glad to hear about it being a little easier now that your FIL is in a home with help. I know it was very hard on you to take care of him and still have your lives. I am sure it is better for all of you.
So sorry to watch the last of the Jeopardy shows that Alex was on before he died. I have been a Jeopardy junkie for over 30 years. I cried when they showed the tribute at the end.
Well, better go get everyone fed. Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe.
Sherry
