Supper Club - Sat, Nov 28

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Nov 28, 2020 3:38 am

Good morning!

I will be using my phone for next few weeks. We have to send my computer for repairs. Possible replacement if it’s not fixable. Plus Bill is returning his new computer. So I read everything but my posts will be short.

A nice day here yesterday. The weather not so great but it provided a good indoor, sewing day. We did a little grocery shopping and then I cleaned the fridge and did some kitchen work. We went for a walk between rain showers, then I got out my sewing. Bill invited Al over to watch a movie. This gave my sister some alone time, which she needs frequently. Movie over, another walk, and then I made the turkey enchiladas and took them to my sisters trailer with a salad and leftover pumpkin pie. Today is going to be pretty stormy so another sewing day. Yay! Dinner will be sharing the last leftover enchilada with a salad.

Tina, sorry your packages didn’t come. But it would’ve been so tempting to tear into them.

Irish, so great to hear from you! Thanks for the report on Nick. I wonder how he is doing in England. How much longer does he have til discharge? How is Steven doing?

Lori, Ham & potato soup sounds pretty tasty to me!

Jana, hope those cabinets get delivered today! Can never have too much storage space

Carol, what is happening at your house today?

Becca, how is CA doing after the holiday week? And you??

Is anyone tired of turkey yet?

Good morning!
Mary, sounds like you had a very nice day yesterday. When the boxes do arrive I won't be opening them anyway but Monday the owner is supposed to call me with an appointment time to set it up, I'd like it to be here first though.
Becca, you're way ahead of me! I'll be cleaning and putting things away so I can get ready to bring out the Christmas decorations, woohoo! I need some Christmas cheer! My Dad and SIL are all bah-hum-bug and I told Dad last night that he needs some Christmas set up too so he gets out of that, and my SIL does too! Her kids don't visit, her daughter lives around Austin I think... well somewhere in Texas LOL and 3 grands and her son lives in Cruces and she saw him last week which was the first time since last Christmas Eve! My nephews girlfriend doesn't like his parents so forbids him from talking, texting or anything while she's around him. I personally wouldn't put up with it, I'd be over visiting and spending time with my son and grands there whether she liked it or not! But my SIL and my brother aren't like that! 🤷‍♀️ I believe in kill them with kindness!
Supper tonight might be ham and???
Tomorrow night I'm making Turkey tacos! Those use a lot of Turkey! It'll probably use up the rest. We had an almost 27 pounder! The kids took good amounts home!

Mary, sew days are the best. Enjoy

Becca, sounds like your are keeping yourself busy.

Tina, can you come decorate my house when you're done?

Well the soup didn't get made. I was missing one ingredient. So we had chili last night instead. Tonight will be the potato and ham soup.

Have a lovely day.

Good almost afternoon!

My IKEA just arrived. Luckily we caught them as they were about to drive off. They claimed they called and no one answered the phone, NOT! We have caller ID and the last person who called was Aaron, 2 hours ago. Oh, the phone was on the hook too. I so much dislike being fibbed too! They moved the boxes to the garage from my front porch, where they had left them. Each box weighs around 50 lbs, a bit much for us to move. Now my kids will haul them downstairs. We have a hand truck for this very purpose.

No turkey left here. We finished it off last night with turkey sandwiches. T9night is noodles at Matt's house. Sarah has stock done too, but we are freezing that until she can eat it. Any amount of fat is giving her problems. She meets with the surgeon on Wednesday and wants to schedule this surgery ASAP, especially cso she can eat and before the year ends as they have met the health insurance deductible for the year.

Now I have to go downstairs and post all the spending we have done. It will take me a few minutes - should do it as I spend it, but that is no fun! LOL!

Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon from a very sunny but a little chilly, Sw. Pa.....Those people in the "know" are saying tomorrow is to be warmer with lots of sun so, tomorrow will be the day, I hide in the shed and try to pull the Christmas stuff that a bunch of dummies stored in the back of the shed....Kathy is having all her gifts sent here and when she gets here, hopefully, she will do the wrapping...Of course, there's always a chance, she won't be able to come with all the lock downs etc. Those gifts, might not get wrapped, lol.....

Mary, I've been waiting for my computer genus (Dan, DGS) but he and Casey are really stay at homes...That's why I'm trying to lure him with pumpkin pie...They both work from home and really don't go any where except to do the delivery pick up...But, when he does come, I'm sure he'll say, time for a new one....My lap top is at Terry's and my desk top is showing it's age......
Sounds like you have those story days covered...And then to have the men "out of your hair" for awhile, that's special....
I was thrilled to hear from Nick and he really seems to be enjoying his career...He's only been in for 10 months and so far, from the way he talks he will stay in....Now with Stephan, when he enlisted, I'm pretty sure, he signed up for 6 years and he's been in almost 3..At 1st it took some getting used to but now, it's a job, something he likes and we think when it's time to leave, he just might change his mind...Terry often says, he's not going to want to give up a decent job with all those perks and come home and start over, so we'll see....You would love Christine, Stephan's wife....She's an animal lover...They do have 2 fairly big dogs but now it seems the neighborhood cats have taken a liking to her (and Stephan, although he said, he's not a cat person)...But, she has fixed them heated houses and makes sure they are comfy...Sends me pictures weekly and is sure, one or 2 might make just start living inside....Stephan graduated from basic in Texas the day Jim passed away...Would love to see them and hope when this "mess" is over, I can get to Kansas......

Becca, I love to read about your "adventures", you have so much going on....Love when the family visits....Enjoy your day, time for a rest...

Jana, So glad your cabinets came and you caught them....Been much easier for them to just tell the truth! Years ago when Dan was moving away from home, he went to Ikea and bought all his furniture...When he was paying, he said, his Mom had a truck, they'd pick it up...Well, Kathy spotted the sign free delivery and she said, Oh no Mom won't pick it up...The apartment Dan was moving into had a lot of steps and she wanted no parts of that so they had it delivered....He used the furniture for years until he just bought new this past summer.....Hopefully when you get them all placed, we need to see a picture......Yum, home made noodles................

Tina, One of these days, you're going to have that big delivery....When you were talking about family, every family must have "those" kind...Just yesterday, I was at my sister's, sitting around the table with her daughter and she started talking about their Thanksgiving dinner and how half of the family don't talk to each other and you have to be careful when you talk to this one because they don't talk to that one...And what's really weird, they all live on property my Mom had given them from the farm...All their houses are within sight of each other...Maybe it was our best move when we moved to our own little piece of heaven and not stayed on the farm, lol......Even when my sister was fighting for her life, a couple of them stayed away because of the others.....Weird! But, what do they say about, can't pick your relatives, lol......
I thought everyone was jumping the gun about Christmas and decorations but I've been bitten by the bug but in this house, it's going to be all different...We'll see!

Lori, glad to hear that soup is making it's way to the table tonight...My mouth is watering......I'm going to have to get me a piece of ham and it's all your fault, lol......

Guess I really should try to get something done (even if it's wrong)...I start 1 job, then find myself in another room doing something else..But, I do have to admit, this house is so easy to keep clean, just love it!....I have a feeling I'll be back at my sister's tonight...All the men went to camp for the start of deer season so it's a nice quiet weekend....Her daughter just had carpal tunnel surgery so she's spending a lot of time with JoAnn so maybe we'll play cards and order pizza....Or I just might stay home and eat left overs.....

You all have a great rest of the day......

Happy eating.....................
