Supper Club. Friday, Nov 26

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Nov 27, 2020 5:27 am

Good morning!

I hope everyone had a great TG even if it wasn't your traditional celebration. We enjoyed every minute of our day. But so tired come evening. Today’s plan is to get a few basic groceries and sew. Supposed to be a little stormy today so it will be a sewing day for me for sure. That’s what stormy days are for, right?

We may have turkey enchiladas for supper. Sis has hard time in kitchen with one arm so unless it comes out of a can that Al opens they don't eat. The turkey was technically theirs but Al insisted we put leftovers in our fridge so I believe I’m in charge. However he DID take the leftover jug of pre-mixed margaritas - which was ours! 😆

So, how are you fixing your leftovers?

Mary, I think Al got the better part of the deal with the Margaritas. lol

Hope everyone had a good TG yesterday. We went to DS and DDIL for dinner. It was very nice. Sewing today.

Ham and potato soup with a baguette for dinner. Simple and not too much work.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon from dreary but not too chilly, SW. Pa....I'm having a hard time trying to keep up with the holidays, I'm still kind of looking for Easter...But, yesterday kind of came and went and it sure wasn't like other years..My house was empty, just Baby Girl and me and she didn't want any of my goodies, lol....My family had all decided to "have they're own" which was fine with me....Although I've been told I'm no longer contagious, I don't want to take any chances....

Mary, I was so happy to hear from you, yesterday...That really did make my day....It does sound like Al got the better of the deal, smart man.......Your sister is so lucky to have you near by....Hope you get to your sewing today.....I'm still sorting floss, ugh....Can not believe how many different colors there are and I know each of the girls had doubles, maybe triples of each color, lol......But, it's going to a good cause (anything that I can get out of the closet and into someone else's is a good cause)...

Jana, the other day, you had mentioned painting and colors, believe it was Ethan's room which will be fantastic...When Kevin started his bathroom, way back the end of last year, it was a complete gut job and at the time the color was grey...He kept saying, look out the window, it's grey outside and I'm not bringing it inside...So when the new year came around, the color was navy and that's what he went with....Navy and white, finally finished and it's gorgeous! Of course, he now said, no one is allowed to use it, lol...I kept telling him if he soon didn't finish, he'd be into the next year, another color and have to change....Now he's starting on the spare bedrooms and we'll see how long this project takes....His answer, he's retired, has all the time in the world......
And you had also mentioned about how smart engineers were and boy do I agree...Among the boys, there are 4 and when they'd get together, I had no idea what they were talking about.. I think they made up words just to confuse me...
Did you get all your sewing (dolls and dresses) done?...I'm in awe with all your projects......

Lori, your ham and potato soup sounds so good...Glad you hear you had a good TG...

Becca, I'm sure your Thanksgiving was a good one...With all your family coming and going, how could it not be.....Hope your resting today.......

Not much happening in my house except "floss".....I do have laundry going and did promise to make a pumpkin pie for Dan and Casey...Casey has a terrible allergy so had to find the gluten free flour...Had a very nice message from Nick...I had asked what I could send him and he told me to surprise him...He also said, he does have a kitchen and plans to do some baking, so I might also send some spices and cookie cutters, along with that check.....He said, he had made pizza earlier in the week and how good it was and then yesterday, he made ham and all the sides for his buddies....He's hoping to get a house off base when he gets back from him deployment...Said, his 3 bikes are taking up too much room, lol....But, it was so nice to hear about his life across the pond.....

Not sure what dinner might be...I do have left overs but might stick with something little....My sister wanted to know if I wanted to stop over later but did tell her, I have a game to watch (ND and N. C.) on at 3:30....I'm thinking some of my leftovers might go into the freezer for another day......

You all have a great rest of the day.......

Happy eating.......................

Good Morning,
I made a Target run this morning and now am busy with some laundry. I am needing to get to some quilting.

Dinner tonight: we have turkey, cranberry relish and dinner rolls and pumpkin pie. I will make potatoes and a vegetable. If I don't then we will have turkey sandwiches which sound very good at almost 11 AM.

Need to go to Ace Hardware they had a problem with our screens. Talk later.

Good afternoon!

Well, I did do some shopping today - online - Michael will get a early Christmas present. He needed some cabinets from IKEA, and lucky for us, they were in stock and they will deliver them directly to the house. Tomorrow! I thought that it could be a week or more, but nope, tomorrow morning. I ordered a extra one, just in case. We will always find a need for this cabinet. They are the same ones that I use in my sewing area, shallow drawer - 6 0f them, they hold a sewn quilt block wonderfully! Michael is using his under the railroad train tables for storage of his junk - I may just commandeer a few drawers! LOL!

Irish - oh those engineers and their vocabulary! I have learn many of the words that Michael and Matt use - being married all these years helps. The favorite one around here is impedance - just what it sounds like - to slow something down - when I have had enough of the discussion - I invoke the impedance rule, which they all know they need to change the subject! When Matt wrote his Master's Thesis, he had me proof the entire thing! I knew the words, but heavens to Betsy had no idea what he was actually doing in that paper. It is printed as a book and I have a copy in my bookcase, proudly displayed! Rooting this afternoon for ND! Anyone but Alabama in the playoffs! They will cheat my BYU team out of any playoffs, because we are not members of the Conferences that run everything. We too are undefeated!

Well, my turkey dinner last night was to say the least, disappointing. The turkey roast we got, said fresh, but no way it was, it was very freezer burnt in taste. So we will muddle through and eat the rest tonight for dinner. The only good thing that came out was the pumpkin pie. My new crust recipe is a definite keeper! So dinner tonight is a turkey sandwich, with mayo, cranberry sauce and stuffing in there too.

Aaron called and told me his turkey came out perfect too. Despite the bridezilla SIL that decided that Aaron didn't need what few items she was sent to the store for. Aaron and Kate went out the night before and got what he needed. The family loved all of his meal that he cooked.

I have 4 nightgowns cut out, half assembled for the dolls. I am making more clothes for the two I did last year, as those clothes seemed to have vanished. The doll I am making for Stu's girlfriend's little girl will only be a dress and nightgown. Don't think it is a good idea to overwhelm.

Well, better get going,
Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Hi everyone!!!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I know most if not all of us it was a different one to say the least. Same here. But what we did have was great and I was very Thankful. My dad was down in the dumps, it was his first ever Thanksgiving to not be with us and I was sad too along with my kids and Maria. Maria wanted to go Grampynap him ❤ he did come over for a few hours today ❤
I'm exhausted and have my feet up already. I was thinking we'd just have leftovers for supper but I may just have a bowl of rice crispies for me.
No delivery today so I guess all 5 boxes will be here Monday.
Tina
