Supper club. Monday, Nov 23

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:13 am

Good morning!

We made it! We are all set up in La Hacienda RV Resort in Austin. Whew! 2500+ miles. But now we’re staying put until Dec 30. Al & Tina rolled in about 1-1/2 hrs after us. We got to visit Autumn for a few hours at her new little house. Built in the 40’s, and updated beautifully while keeping it’s charm. We all sat outside to visit, properly distanced, of course. But not before I got in one big hug

Today I will check out the laundry room. We have been here before and I know it’s big and clean. I have 2 1/2 weeks of wash to do plus towels and sheets. Also, this trailer needs a good cleaning so I will be busy today.

My brother, Gene, is going through a rough time. His wife’s Alzheimer’s has gotten so bad. She is totally wheelchair-bound now. He is still trying to care for her at home all by himself. But finally, after two years of waiting, a bed has become available at a facility in Fairbanks. Lots of paperwork, financial stuff, Covid and TB tests. My niece says admission will be Nov 30 and after that no visiting. Gene is feeling so guilty, plus mourning his wife of 60+ years. With Covid, he very well may never see her again after Nov 30.

And so far nothing is happening at Vicky‘s house. The family asked us to access our security cameras whenever we think about it and let them know if we see unfamiliar cars there. So far as we can tell she is still there. Family believes they will not be notified of when the warrant for removal will be served, only after the fact.

Jana, I know gray is the new color but it is so not my color either. I would have to have some accent color – yellow or red or turquoise or even black. But have to say, when we carpeted our bedroom last year there were, like Fifty Shades of Grey to choose from, truly. A few beiges, and that was about it. Love her ideas for Ethan’s room

Tina, your LA has always been on the wall along the hallway, opposite the window whenever I’ve been there.

Becca, is today Denise Day? I’ve had trouble keeping up while on the road. I know you are seeing family on different days. Right?

Carol, is your yard very big? And the city cleaned up the front?? Nice!!

Lori, I got my reindeer pattern!!🦌 I wont start it until I go home since that’s where all my fabrics are, but I cant wait to open it and check it out. I also got Wooded Whimsy (?) 🎄and “Village”,the little houses.🏠

Supper tonight? Hmm. I haven’t thought beyond the mountain of laundry I have. But maybe grilled pork chops? Maybe grilled cheese sandwiches? Guess I will wait and be surprised! 😋

What are you going to surprise yourself with tonight?

Good morning!

We are a extra blanket cold today, about 23 right now.

Mary - you made it! Autumn was very happy, I am sure to see you and get a hug! I will be joining you in the laundry room, it's been 2 weeks and jeans are in short supply here!

Dinner - don't know what I am in the mood for yet, something will appear,. Magically would be nice.

Yesterday, aliens abducted Michael, aka Scrooge and left me a clone. Michael set up the Dickens Village and it is mostly finished. He wants some, what is called, Museum putty to hold the street lights upright. This putty is what you can adhere objects to a shelf and the object can withstand a earthquake and not fall off . It is easily removable and leaves no marks. He can put a small bit on the bottom of the light and it will stand straight. He is even bringing up my tree for that window and constructing a box to raise it above the heating vent. This is my white tree that is decorated with candy cane ornaments and red ornaments. I will use some of that putty as well in my curio cabinet to hold my pretties and my Lladro kitties.

Not much more here, laundry, sewing and what ever trouble I can find.

Hugs,
Jana

Mary, sounds like you will be busy today cleaning. So glad you made it. And you got the patterns. Something fun to look over. Yes grey is the new neutral. Grey carpet with pets is much better than beige.

Jana, i have a few Lladro kitties as well. They are so pretty.

I got my Cat swap quilt quilted yesterday. Yay! I'll put the binding on and finish up the label today.

For dinner it will be Teriyaki chicken and rice. Pizza won out last night.

Finally home from SLC. We went up and ordered the new bed - footboard and headboard and 2 nightstands. Michael decided that he liked the more expensive - quarter sawn oak version and then added a adjustable shelf in each of the nightstands. I was good with the less expensive, but gladly take the one we ordered. It was to be Christmas. now it is a birthday present. It will be here about the middle of February. Feels kind of like waiting between Christmas and February, when I was expecting Sarah!

If you want to see what we ordered - the company is Sugarhouse Furniture and the bed is named Arroyo Seco. The head board is quite tall - just 2 inches shorter than I am! We were able to match the stain for the oak to our current dressers from my old furniture. It is called toffee - a medium caramel color. Now it will look like a matching set from the get go. I do like matching, but do have a huge ecclectic streak in me as well.

We took a ride out looking at new things and while we were on the freeway came across a incident that needed Aaron's help. He was on duty. So I called him and reported it to him. I am a good person! LOL! Just as he let the trooper know, she was on her way, code 3 to the rescue. On our way home - Aaron knew where we were and came to visit. so I then got the rest of the story. The woman had not tied down a load of furniture - splaat! It was now splinters all over the freeway. What worried me most, was when we saw her, she was stopped against the center median, the left hand side, out of her truck, walking back toward where it all fell off. All I could see in my mind, was this woman trying to retrieve something! She didn't and the trooper got her on her way again, minus the furniture.

So I now have dishwashers running and laundry too. Even trying to sew between loads. Oh, we stopped at Sarah's, fixed a electrical problem in the basement, and it is snowing outside now. Whew! Busy here!

Oh yes, one more thing - this is quickly becoming a book, not a best seller, mind you, Sarah's tests all came back - no ulcers, no Krohns, and no celiacs - ruled out everything but gallbladder - so she has a ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning to check out the gallbladder. It seems to run in the family, as most of my nieces, nephews and oldest brother have had surgery for this. So far - not me - knock on wood!

See ya!

Hi Everyone,
Maryz - we have a double lot. It is a hillside, but we have a nice flat area of backyard grass with lots of trees. Then the lower part of the slope is terraced. I think we need to remove everything, have the one wall repaired and plant with lower maintenance plants. The lower slope faces the street so it would be nice if it looked good. Now you are thinking what about the front yard? It also faces a street, but not the same street. The property is between two streets. My plan means no more boysenberries. I am fine with that, That, bit it is difficult to remove them. They are quite invasive.

Jana - You will always be glad for the “extras” on the bed.

Becca - Glad you had a nice visit with Denise.

The kitten has made progress and has jumped into both of our laps. She loves being petted and brushed. She just runs away from us a lot of the time. She also loves to play.
