SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Oct 27

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Oct 27, 2020 5:30 am

Good morning!

We're chilly (37*) but I'm guessing many of you are even chillier so I won't whine. I downloaded and printed my newest project from Sew Fresh Quilts, "Fox Among the Birches" by Lorna McMahon. (you can Google it if you want to see). I have the purrfect background fabric in my stash, but I'm still trying to squeeze out the right fabrics for the foxes. Can't do it. We're going to Tacoma today on a long list of errands so we're adding fabric shopping to the list. This will be a fairly long project and will go to Texas with me, so yesterday I pulled the "just to keep busy" projects I'd already packed back out of the 5th-Wheel. No need to take it all!

My two grandsons, Drew & Alec, came for mac & cheese supper last night. It was SOOO good to see them! I haven't seen them in almost a year! I gave Alec his "Whisk" quilt and he really loved it! And the baker Santa I bought to go with it. He's going to put the quilt over his couch. Drew was happy with his gifts, too, but they weren't anything quilty this year. Both boys love having their own homes, no roommates, and decorating for Christmas. One of Drew's gifts was a metal snowman stake for his yard and he was over the moon about it! lol!

Today, as I mentioned, we are going into Tacoma to the Sew & Vac place to pick up our repaired Vacuum, wash 2 king quilts at laundromat, stop by jeweler to get battery changed in Bill's dress watch, and shop for fabric for my foxes. I need to make a list of just exactly what I need for them. We may have to go to a few different places for the fabric. Packing 5th-Wheel has begun in earnest and next laundry day clothes will go in. Sewing stuff still in flux, but non-perishable food is nearly packed. We're almost ready!

IRISH!!! - you're alive!! So good to have you back! I was going to text you yesterday to check on you but the day got away from me and suddenly it was too late. You probably had to go lay down after your post, but you DID it! I'm betting the ride you took with Kevin refreshed you, body and soul! I'm so glad you're doing OK now and have lots of soup on hand! Hugs!

BECCA - Your poor DGGS! That's a big deal for anyone, but when you are a busy 8 yr old boy, it's terrible! You know, my doctor told me that fractures tend to run in families. He didn't really know if it was because some families are more active than others, thus putting them at more risk, or if there is a hereditary bone thing.

JANA - That's a big, wonderful basement Sarah has! Will she be able to have a nice design wall? Is it a daylight basement with outside access or is it a regular sub-terrain basement? It's almost as great as YOUR basement! I hope you warm up soon! My Sisters in CO have 1* this morning. My brother in North Pole, AK is 25* above. (he always quantifies above or below). Goofy Mother Nature! What's the report on Minnie?

TINA - swoosh!!!

Our supper tonite will be leftover mac & cheese with a salad. I still have leftover split pea soup but I think I'll freeze that for a later meal. Alec brought a carmelized apple pie last night and left us a little bit of it, so we even have dessert!

Have you got any ideas for your supper tonite?

Good morning!

First off - so happy to you you Irish! Take it easy!

Mary - we've warmed a bit, now at freezing. It is always good to see grandsons - especially when they are grown! Hope you find the perfect fox fabrics.

Stu is being sent to Nampa, near Boise Idaho for a business trip next month. He will be gone for about three weeks. Amazon is opening a new facility in Nampa and Stu is training part of the new employees on how to do their job. Amazon is paying for a rental car to drive to Nampa, about 6 hours from here and of course food and lodging. He will miss Thanksgiving here, but it is a great opportunity for him. Stu has been working at Amazon for almost a year now. We worry about Stu driving to Nampa, not because of snow, or just driving that far, but that boy has absolutely, positively, nada, none, sense of direction! For all we know, he will end up at Irish's or Tina's! And it is a easy drive, just one stop in Twin Falls for fuel. The Costco is not far off the freeway.

My handyman is feeling much better and just got here to work on the door. Should be in today. Sarah is here to help.

So need to get going, help where I can. Dinner - who knows, there is a mixed boxed of bagged chips on the counter, a Irish dinner!

Stay Safe!

Hugs,
Jana

Mary, That's a bit chilly. Sounds like you had a good time with the grandsons. Glad Alec liked his quilt.

Becca, I had my teeth cleaned as soon as they would get me in. I love having them cleaned.

Jana, woohoo for the door.

Irish, good to see you posting again. 30 pounds is a lot to lose that fast. Glad you are feeling better.

Well today is DH's birthday. So the cake is made. The kids are taking us out for dinner tonight. Not sure what it will be.

have a lovely day.
