SUPPER CLUB - Wed, July 15th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Jul 15, 2020 7:23 am

Good morning,

Today will be our hot day of the week - 80*. Expecting 70* and rain by friday but then back up to 75-85 all next week. The warmest we've been this year. I'm going to work on my Christmas Kitties before going to the hospital. On the way home we will pick up my Bernie from the spa an drop off my back-up machine for the same treatment.

Albert is hanging in there but is fading. His falling BP is his most immediate problem. Last night it was 69/?. He called me at 9-pm asking if that was low and he was difficult to understand. His son spent the night with him again. We'll go visit about 10am. His son, Jeff, is my nephew with the brain tumor. He and his sister, Carmen, have been solid rocks for Al & Barb. I love them both to the moon and back.

Vicki! We may be getting somewhere with her and the rats! We reported them and the garbage situation to County Code Enforcement. They sent her a letter (which went to her kids because she burned her mailbox) and said if she didn't clean it up she would be fined $1,000/day until she did. She was shoveling garbage yesterday (to where, we don't know but her SIL, Ben, said he'd come back to help her). She can't haul the can out to the road anymore. He may have to come every Wed and do it for her. Also, courts are starting to move here again so they are making progress on getting her declared incompetant. They've already been looking into placement in a memory care facility nearby. So we'll see what happens . . . . . Ben stopped at Vicki's last night and then came over here to update us. He had two 3mo lab/mix puppies with him! We got a puppy fix! I needed that! They were sooo cute!!

JANA - Now we all have a connection to someone famous! We know you, you have a DD, and she has Donny Osmond on her speed dial! Cool!! 8-) I had two dental implants about 5 yrs ago. I was warned not to crunch things like raw carrots, ice, or caramel on that side, but otherwise, once I healed from the initial dental surgery, I could eat normal foods. It took about 8 months for the grafts to 'take' before they put in the final 'teeth'.

IRISH - how is Scout doing? How old is Scout? I pray he does OK. After 7 years I still miss our Snickers and if I talk about him I start to cry. Furbabies! They do get a solid hold on our hearts!

TINA - there are some really good Mexican and Tex/Mex restaurants in TX and we have some good ones here, too. Authentic? I can't judge that, but I know they are tasty. My weather ap on my phone says you may stay under 100* today and for the coming week! Whoo Hoo! Dance in the sprinkler!

LORI - ahh... you lost me at corned beef sandwiches. Bill likes them but I do not. But someone has to eat them and glad it's you and not me!

BECCA - is Marty still there? So nice to have nice long visits with your son. I haven't seen mine for over a year. I miss him. Glad your temps aren't boiling you!

We had salads last night for supper and never got any further than that. We still have leftover S&S chicken and rice in the fridge so if we have a supper tonite - that will be it. We will, however, eat our usual salads. Filled with lots of veggies.

Happy supper!

Good morning!

Sorry, no fun stories today. But then again, Aaron is still at work and has a few more hours to his shift.

It is hot here again. Trying hard to keep the yard watered. Lawn is getting crunchy!

Ordered some fruit fabric to make some new potholders. Hopefully it will look like a lattice top pie when I am done. Saw them on Pinterest and I am trying to copy them. My old potholders have seen better days. Made them many years ago, using homespun fabric and cut them to be a chenille look. They have served me well. I have insulbrite in my stash, so that will work to make them a little heat proof.

Dinner - Sarah is cooking for her family, so Michael wants zucchini dipped in cucumber sauce.

Mary - government wheels always turn so slowly. But at least they are turning! Prayers for your family. And you will have your machines home!

Becca - cinnamon ciabatta! Yum! Yes, people are so grouchy! Even here!

Right now here, it is a big to-do over schools and masks and reopening. Debates are getting very heated and nasty.

I am about to run my Crosswave -mop- over my kitchen floor. So easy to use, fast too. Then off to play.

Stay safe!
Hugs,
Jana
