SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, June 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jun 02, 2020 6:15 am

Good morning,

We're going to be 64* and cloudy today. Not too bad. Rain is forecast for the weekend, but we'll be east of the mountains by then, camping, and it's usually warmer and drier over their. 8-)

Yesterday I got one quilt top quilted with a fast freehand meander. Hope to do another one today. I also cleaned and rearranged our deck furniture and made a double batch of peanut butter cookies for the trailer freezer. Today I think I'll make pizza dough and pre-bake the crusts so we can put them on the grill while camping. Also, there are plenty of UGH-lies to choose from. I wanted to take my sewing machine in for a good cleaning and servicing while we were gone, but there is a long waiting list. They say they will call me with an appointment time to drop machine off, curbside. Then it's another 3 weeks that they will have it. Rats! Good thing I have a good back-up machine!

JANA - glad you got the first step behind you. Now to just stay home and out of trouble for a few days until the big test. Can you do that?? We've been through Rexburg. A neat little town. There is a Rexburg in PA, too. My ancestors have a family cemetery there and in 1997 we found it and and a motherload of graves of my forebears.

IRISH - if Kathy hasn't discovered it yet, another cool place in Idaho is Craters of the Moon - a volcanic area, with a very cool campground among all the volcanic formations. A scenic drive with short, paved walks, and little critters. Back at the beginning for the space program, astronauts used to train there, I've been told. And has she ever explored the Washington Wine country? Walla Walla in SE WA has wonderful reds but their prices reflect their pride in them. We tend more toward Prosser, Zillah, and Yakima Valley. Much more affordable and just as good.

BECCA - Happy Birthday to your Marty! glad CA got his blood work all done. Like you, we try to get errands all done at the same time. Though we don't have many. Mostly just chiropractic appts and picking up our mail once or twice a week. As for grocery shopping, we've been to Costco twice and Safeway once in the last 3 months. I've been to drug store and LQS each one time. Bill has hit hardware store about 4 times. And we were both at the car dealership once. And that's everything we've done since beginning of March. I can't wait to go camping!

LORI - have a safe flight! We'll miss you!

I made an Italian casserole last night of chicken, pasta, and marinara sauce, topped with mozz and parm cheese. There's plenty for tonite, too, along with the usual salad.

What sounds tantalizing to you tonite?

Good morning!
Yep it's me, the lost one LOL
I'm doing good, just been busy and time is flying by! I can't believe how fast a day goes by and I don't get everything done that I want. We're expecting 100+ temps for the next 6 days at least so I'll be watering overtime to hopefully keep all my stuff from getting stressed.
Today is voting day! We're going to vote. Today we have a grocery pick up at Walmart at 11 and then at 2 my calico kitty; Winnie (she's an ASPCA rescue), goes to see a new vet, we think she broke her tooth Saturday night and this was as quick as we could get her in. I feel so bad for her, I know she's in pain because she's really been sleeping and she hasn't eaten anything since it happened. Thankfully she's staying inside out of the heat and takes little drinks of water. We were giving her tons of lovin last night and she even purred for Frankie and she got on my lap. We've had her for 7 years and her getting on my lap is a new thing of just a few months, she's come a long way from how she was when we got her...... it may take me another 7 years for her to let me pick her up. ❤
We had pizza last night and have leftovers for lunch today. Tonight will be pork chops and salad.
Mary enjoy your camping! I'll try to get caught up reading and try to do better about getting on here and posting 🤞

Good afternoon from sunny and getting warmer, going up to 80 today.....

Mary, you really do sound excited to "get out of town" and I don't blame you....I think that's pretty much the way Kathy and Tim were feeling and they really got out of town...I keep writing down the places you suggest and will be asking Kathy but it does seem, she's mentioned some of them....And, just had a text from her and they are doing a wine tasting today...They are at their time share and they have quite a few things planned for them and then will start for home on Thursday.....
I was just thinking, isn't it amazing, how time has flown by and we've all been pretty much "stay at homers"....And, I know with myself, can truthfully say, I haven't been bored and didn't mind it at all...
I laughed at your comment to Jana to "stay out of trouble"...You must know Jana better than we do, lol.....

So, Jana, I'll add, stay out of trouble but have fun.....

Tina, so glad to see you back....Figured you were busy, busy, busy as ever...Poor Winnie, hate to hear she's hurting but sounds like she has good parents and she'll be taken care of....When I had my Persian, Simba, he wouldn't get on my lap and I kept saying, I'm going to get another fur baby, one that will let me hold him...So, Clancy came along, from one of our ferals and got all the babies adopted but was not giving up my Clancy and Clancy was a lover...I think when Simba saw this, he soon changed him ways and then I had 2 on my lap...Each fur baby has their own way and you love them no matter what.....
I love the heat but 100 is maybe just a tad too warm.....Hope you're able to take it easy.....

Here it is afternoon and have not accomplished too much...I did have a call from the realtor I had...She's such a special gal..Her husband is a landscaper and they have gone shopping for stuff for my yard...I'm so excited to finally have something done (which doesn't involve me using the shovel)...She also told me, she's has lots of people looking for homes but there is a shortage of houses right now.....
In my running yesterday I didn't make it to Lowes to pick up my shepherd hook or the the dollor store for the crystals so I might jump in the car and do that...I moved from this area 63 years ago and although I've been around, it's kind of neat now to venture out and re find places that I had forgotten....

For my dinner, I really have no idea except maybe a big salad.....

You all have a great rest of the day.......

Happy eating...............

Good afternoon!

I am the one you would think never got into trouble, boy do I have you fooled! I have lots of help, named Sarah. Right now, we are thinking about a quick trip to Idaho for fabric. Michael would not be pleased for just the two of us going, so we will take him too.

There is a backstory on the fabric trip. Sarah needs to sew shirts for our Ethan. He is too tall for the shirt length that fits him. So we need to get t-shirt knit fabric and make his. JoAnn's had knit, at $20 per yard - outrageous! We know of a fabric store up in Idaho, Mill Ends Outlet. Fabrics are the overruns from fabric manufacturers. Knits are about $3 a yard. So for about $4, we can see him two shirts. Finding ribbing and the knit collars is hard here and they have those as well. I would stop on the way home on our trips to Utah, in Reno. There was a Mill End store there too. It has closed now. Many years ago, I took and taught Stretch and Sew classes. I have many many of those patterns. Taught Sarah how to do them as well. So Ethan will get t-shirts and polo shirts. The store here in Idaho is about 3 1/2 hours from here. I might even find some other fabric there too.

Dinner - well, need to cook different in prepping for the test on Thursday. Michael will have limitations. So will piece on what is here. Cereal might be most of what I'll eat.

Our new satellite receiver arrived. We found a portable hard drive, so we can transfer all the shows we have saved on the old broken one, to the new one. We are limping the old one along and will make the change over later this week.

Heading down to the Batt Cave,

Stay safe!
Hugs,
Jana
