SUPPER CLUB = Monday, May 25th
Good morning!
After a few nice mornings we have a gentle rain falling. Not good for our travelers, but our plants need it. And our travelers will be traveling later this morning. I've got pancakes, bacon, and eggs ready for them when they are ready to sit a bit. They plan to drive all day - about 12 hours - down I-5 to just north of San Francisco. To Norvado(?) A town I've never heard of but I bet Jana has. I probably didn't even spell it right.
Been a super nice visit. Even the teenager, Gage, was enjoyable. I'm sure he was bored most of the time, but he had his phone and netflix in the trailer, plus he was with the rest of us a lot, polite, offered to help, and always pleased and thanked us. We had tacos last night around the campfire which is one of his favorites. And listening to Al and Mark tell stories - both law enforcement - was like watching an episode of Live PD!
IRISH - Bill sis just moved into a community like yours. They ordered their home built. And they are now in the landscaping stage, too. Between the quarantine and then both of them having serious medical problems in April, it's been a slow go for them. Sounds like you have nice neighbors and will truly enjoy your new place, especially when the lock-down ends. Glad your trip is on but it's later in the year. Yes, I'm not crazy about traveling east this year. What if we got sick, had to be hospitalized, and Scottie and Foxy were stuck alone in our trailer. I worry about our 'kids' when we travel!
JANA- I bet that cake was the sweetest cake Kate every had! Glad all your orders arrived. All four of mine did, too. But still - no iron and no comforter. All my fabric stuff arrived though - interfacing, fabric, elastic, and a pattern. Glad to hear Amazon took on more workers. So many folks out of work! Plus, it will speed up shipping.
BECCA - I'm surprised CA doesn't eat eggs. It's a standby here, especially for times of less appetite or tender tummies.
LORI - I dreamed about your dogs last night! They were trying to seat their big wet selves into my recliners! lol! They were like the size of big bears in my dream! I kept laughing at them!
CAROL - that dessert sound delish! Except for bananas. I like bananas until they get overripe (which is when I use them to make banana bread or Frosty Paws or simply toss them whole into the freezer for later). But I LOVE pineapple!
Our visitors will be on the road after breakfast this morning. I'll be feeding them pancakes, bacon, and eggs to order for breakfast and making them turkey sandwiches and cookies for them to take on the road. Tonite's supper for us will be a selection of leftovers - potato salad, coleslaw, beans, BBQ pork, taco stuff, peanut butter pie, etc.
Hope you are having a tasty supper tonite, too!

Good morning!
Mary - heck yeah, I know Novato. Sausalito, San Rafael, Marin City, all of those. The county building was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Even the rainbow tunnel, leading from the Golden Gate to Marin county. Most people call it the Waldo tunnel, but as a kid, I called it the rainbow tunnel, because at the entrance, someone painted rainbows there! Those all were my stomping grounds for over 50 years. When Aaron first joined the SAR team, his first search, in the rain, was on the Marin headlands. If they take a drive out there, there is a lookout that is a very famous shot, looking across the Golden Gate toward SF. You see it often in commercials. The arch section, on the SF side of the Golden Gate, my Dad worked on as a riveter, when the Golden Gate was built. A lot of family history in the Bay Area for me.
Simple day here. We will have a pot roast, and leftovers for a few days. The sun is out shining and we are heating up. Sarah stayed up camping. Matt was up at his in laws property in Duchenne, but came home yesterday. The property is very dry and no trees. Just dirt and a place to go 4 wheeling.
I will see today.
Hugs,
Jana

Mary, that is so funny. Dogs and recliners and bears, oh my. I too know where Novato is located. Where is there final destination? Sounds like it was a nice visit. Your leftovers sound yummy.
I'll be up for dinner.
Jana, I could sit in my Nana's kitchen or living room and see both the Golden Gate and San Rafael bridge.
I used to love to watch the fog come over the water.
Becca, I spend a lot of time outside. We have a nice cover patio in the back. I put a couch facing the lawn so we could watch Wrigley and Jack play. The are very entertaining.
Well my lasagna was so yummy. And there was minimal clean up. Tonight I was thinking about getting a steak from the butcher. We'll see.
Have a lovely day.

Re: SUPPER CLUB = Monday, May 25th
Good afternoon from a warm, sunny, SW. Pa....I looked at the thermometer awhile ago and it was very close to 90 but we can handle it......
Mary, I agree with Becca, your company does get treated like royalty....Always did say, I wanted to visit Mary and hopefully one of these days, I'll get my wish.....I'm an egg eater and find myself eating more and more even if it's just a scrambled egg sandwich and in this part of the country, topped with Heinz ketchup......I do like the sound of your breakfast......
Becca, we too used to have big doings on Memorial Day....Our kids and grand kids, all through high school were in the high school band and every year, they marched in a huge parade that ended up at the cemetery with a very touching ceremony...Then back to the house, along with lots of their friends for a picnic and swim party...When Cari graduated, my parade days ended.....Lots and lots of good memories and now, all the kids are starting to make their own memories.....
Jana, love to hear about your stomping grounds....I've not been to most of those places but really do like hearing about them.....It's going to be a quiet day here also...Most of my sister's family have gone to camp, Terry is working on his shed and Kevin is putting up a new pool, (and I didn't offer to help either one).....I did tell Kevin to let me know when the water is nice and warm......
I was out planting some more flowers earlier and have the sheets hanging....I have the cutest hanger thingie that sits on my porch, just big enough for what I like to hang out....If it's summer, my sheets have to be hung outside....The neighbor was cutting her grass...She has her yard looking like a showplace....Her flowers are unbelievable and she told me, she might go out and get more.....Not sure what I'm going to do the rest of the day but for sure, it won't be much.....I've talked to Nick in England, Stephan in Kansas and Kathy in Nevada, so I'm good on the calls for a couple of days......
For my dinner, might have that burger that I was going to have last night and some potato salad.....And talking about pineapple, I cut into a fresh one and have it all sliced and ready to eat, so that's my afters.....
Later, I might take a ride to the cemetery.....Flowers probably need watered and just want to see how it looks....We have a huge cemetery and every year, the Boy Scouts place flags on all the Veteran's graves and it really, really is quite impressive.....
You all have a great rest of the day.....
Happy eating................

Re: SUPPER CLUB = Monday, May 25th
Good afternoon, hoping you are having a good Memorial Day.
Maryz I too, know where Novato is. I was transplanted to the Bay Area for 22 years. I lived 8 miles from the San Rafael bridge for 14 of the 22 years. For a few years I worked in Corte Madera.
Still don't know what supper will be.
Mary/Rosebud
PS...
Charles went to the store and picked up some potato salad and hamburger patties, so supper will be grilled burgers and potato salad tonight.
