Those are well done, I tried a couple. Not sure I like them. Need to find some black fabric for sashing.

VELDA - there's no formula - it's a CRAZY quilt! lol! I only am doing 5-1/2" because Jana suggested it. You could do whatever size you wanted. You could use any backing for your blocks that you like, including paper, or you could use nothing. I think it's easier to use something, though. I cut my backings to 5-1/5", sew the blocks, and kept trimming it as I went. I didn't have any patterns, or Google anything. I just started sewing. It's fun! Kind of like sewing unleashed . .
