Supper Club, Sunday, March 15

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:07 am

Good morning,

A short post on my phone this morning. We Had planned to stop overnight tonite to visit Bill’s sister on our way home. But with all the coronavirus precautions in our state we called her to say We thought we should skip it. She agreed and told us she has some serious medical issues – a huge mass on her ovary that the doctor says is “probably“ a cyst. She needs an MRI to confirm and then surgery. But the person scheduling the MRI made a mistake so now that has been put off until March 31. Who knows by then what will be going on with this virus, the hospitals, etc. Bill lost his third and last brother A year ago to cancer. We are naturally very worried. We also got news a few hours later that one of our good friends at home was diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer, sent home on hospice, and died yesterday. All since last Tuesday. It has taken some of the wind out of our camping sails so we are going home today, a day early.

We have a 2-1/2 hr drive home so we will be there by 11am. Will spend the day emptying/ cleaning trailer and doing laundry. I think breakfast - eggs, hashbrowns, sausages - will be our supper. How about you!

Mary, sorry your trip got cut short. We will be glad to have you back posting again. We've run a muck a bit while you were gone. I blame Chickie. She's a bad influence on us all. lol

I had a great time at QIAD yesterday. The truck show was fun and did a little shopping as well. Eleanor is such a nice lady. I met Orion too. And she had a couple of her granddaughters there as well helping out.
I'm going to finish up my Halloween wall hanging today. I also need to finish up chicken legs so I can get them in the mail tomorrow.

We will be having rice, broccoli and an unmentionable for dinner. I might make a dessert today as well.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning!

Cloudy day here, rain is coming. We had lots of wund yesterday. Blowing everything every way.

All the blame can't be put on Chickie, I was contributing too! :D

Dinner - finishing up odds and ends in the refrigerator. Tomorrow new food.

Mary - so sorry about the trip, your family and friends. You will be glad to be home again.

Lori - oh yes, Sarah will be canning. She is a certified Master Preserver. I am the cheap labor, washing bottles, peeling and clean up.

No word yet on my Becky. Hopefully that is a good sign. The rest of us are fine. Our Ward members are calling to make sure we have things and that we are well. My kids too are watching over us. Talked to Daniel and he and family are well too. Kari, my DDIL, Daniel's, is working from home. Karlie is home with her mom, Kari.

Working on many UFO's.

Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon from a very sunny but chilly, SW. Pa....Not much happening in my neighborhood, very, very quiet.....

Oh Mary, sorry to hear you are cutting the trip short but most sorry to hear the bad and sad news....Boy, I'll tell you, you just never know, seems from one day to the next....But, maybe it's best you'll be home, safe and sound.....

Had to laugh at Lori's post and I might as well join the bandwagon and could blame Chickie but my Ruby is the culprit, lol....Not sure what happened but found myself sitting in the drive thru ordering a "mac n cheese" sandwich...That's what happens when I give Ruby full rein....But, did have a chuckle myself, was going to make some apple squares BUT everything but the apples is up at the new house....Maybe today, I'll take the apples and try out the new oven...I'm so used to cooking with gas and now to do electric, could be interesting...But, then who said I was going to really cook???? I do still have the slow cooker, which usually gets a work out....

Was to go to a Pathological Discussion with Dr. Cyril Wecht this afternoon but the 4 of us decided to stay away...His talks are usually sold out and we've had the tickets for months but why take a chance...I've even cancelled my check up with my PC for tomorrow and other than running in Walmart to pick up a RX, I'm trying to avoid lots of people....

Sure hope everyone is OK and staying OK...I'm still working on this moving thing...Kathy will (hopefully) get here late Tuesday night and come Sat. the muscle men will take over...It is a lot of work but it's so exciting...Everyone who comes to see the house asks which room is their's and when is the 1st sleep over....I just say, everyone is welcome but it's not a B&B, you do your own cooking....

As for my dinner, not much left in the pantry so might have to eat at the new house or let Ruby decide....

You all stay safe and enjoy the weekend....

Happy eating.............

I just put a great story of Aaron over in sew-ins. You need a good smile, read it, I am still laughing.
